Brilliant!
Purchased the fridge 2 weeks ago and am very happy with it so far. Even though the size is smaller than our previous fridge we are able to fit much more into the fridge due to the efficient design. Ice making drawer is particularly handy. Able to store extra milk in vegetable drawer as the door isn't large enough to hold more than one 3 litre bottle. Very quiet. Overall, would recommend the Mitusubish MR-EX562.

Lives up to the reviews - fantastic appliance
Several years ago we owned a Samsung side by side fridge/freezer and I have to say that was fantastic, however we had to sadly part when we relocated. After a few years with a temporary small fridge whilst we looked for a new house finally we purchased the MR-EX655 after reading many reviews and reports.
Although I loved our Samsung this time I wanted something even better and there were a few things I wanted to change; first how the was ice was dispensed. The EX655 uses a water container internally to feed the ice unit, thus avoiding the n...Read more
eed for plumbing, often a big headache. This also means that it avoids the need for its own water filter which based on my Samsung experience are expensive & inconvenient to maintain as well as taking up valuable internal space, in fact I would say the EX655 reservoir takes no more space than a filter. Yes, you have to fill it by hand however as we have a purified water tap easily done and quick. My only suggestion to Mitsubishi is to include an indicator light for when the reservoir is empty. The other thing I enjoy with the ice drawer is less mess as the ice only drops into the drawer and not onto the floor, no crushed ice option though, but having an easy access drawer to pull out and scoop up ice is a winner. There is a rapid ice button and we’ve had no problems with enough ice even on 40c days. Separation of the vegetables into their own drawer is fantastic as it leaves the main section free, and the special light and conditions mean that items keep really well, we stock it up and items last for a week or more. The other separate drawers and sections ensure the best possible storage of all items, however carefully read the instructions to understand how each section works as it’s complicated but worth the effort and helps you maximise the use of space. The number of drawers does compromise the space, but it does ensure items are kept at their best and once you get used to it, it works well. Adjustable sliders on the fridge shelves are great as you can do it without removing them, as long as nothing too heavy on top. Glad we went for the 655 as the smaller unit would have been too small, we find this size great but do have wine & beer elsewhere. We are a family of four so buy milk in 3 litre containers, can only fit one in each of the doors so we end up putting additional ones in the beer fridge, guess it would be fine for multiples of 2 litre, but perhaps my only complaint as there is a lot of storage in the doors. This is the quietest fridge/freezer I have ever seen and when I first started it I had to put my ear on it to even hear that it was running! We have an open plan living kitchen so great that the unit is not heard, the ice dropping into the drawer is also so quiet you really have to be listening for it! Pros:

Energy Efficiency
I don't normally take time to write reviews unless it's a complaint...:),
However.....
I've had this fridge for just under 12 months and no problems or complaints yet.
Looks great and the surface is Very Easy to clean (messy little fingers ) on the outside and to keep food neat inside due to separate compartments. Was the best option for us: modern fridge that fits space originally designed for old model smaller fridge. (Not much on the market) The size however is deceptive as it is deep and can fit a lot! yet keep everything within reach ...Read more

Nice fridge
It's a nice fridge and even like the ice maker as well as the small side freezer but the fridge could do with more shelves. Overall the fridge is quite and the adjustable shelve is great. It maintains temperature but the crisper could keep the fruit longer but maybe we are still trying to get used to the fridge

OMG !! this fridge is AMAZING !!!!
This fridge seems to consume food ! We have challenged it many times and we have not yet had issues with its capacity. It looks fantastic and i never though i would like the ice compartment but it is now a big feature in our food preparation. I also love the fruit and vegetable drawer. The food stays very hydrated in this compartment. I cannot say enough about this fridge. The value of this fridge far outways the extra cost on purchase.

You get what you pay for .....
I looked at a lot of fridges from 500 to 600 litres. My major limitation is that I have only 1730 mm in height. This eliminates many choices as many of them are 1800 mm or taller. I was keen on a Panasonic NR-CY54AGSAU. It had all the features that I wanted & I thought that, being Panasonic, it would be well made & reliable. As always, I checked user reviews here & on other sites, only to be disappointed with the problems people have experienced. These problems seem fairly common with fridges, of all brands, made in Thailand. I saw the reviews ...Read more
here on the MR-EX562W, which are very positive & that along with the fact that it is made in Japan made my decision easy. This was despite the fact that Mitsubishi was $1,000 more than the Panasonic. If there is one thing that I have learned, after 40 years in the retail industry, it is that generally 'you get what you pay for'. When I first turned the fridge on, I realised why so many reviewers commented on the quietness of the fridge, near total silence. Looking at the finish on the fridge, you can see that care has been taken in the materials & construction. Everything lines up beautifully ie. doors etc. The doors close beautifully, with a nice positive 'thud'. No doubt, it will take a bit of time to find the best way to use the various sections of the fridge, but the Touch screen makes it easy to customise the setting to suit my needs. So far I really love the ice maker & the soft freeze Versa drawer (for storing frozen meats that can still be cut with a knife). It's early days yet, but given other user's long term experiences, I would thoroughly recommend this fridge.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great fridge!
After much research during kitchen renovations we decided to spend the extra $ ( >$3k ) on a mitsubishi fridge which we are extremely happy with, not stainless steel but looks great, quiet during day and evenings (open plan kitchen/living area so important to us), no running issues, appreciate the ability to boost cold temp for shopping days. Have recommended to family and friends, overall a great buy.

Fantastic, but the ice maker ....
This is a great fridge. Very quiet and so easy to use. The surace finish is on trend.
Love the double doors and the freezer & vegetable drawers.
My partner chose this model but for me the ice maker is a waste of valuable fridge/freezer space. Still I would give the unit five stars

Love this fridge
I researched a lot of fridges before deciding to buy my Mitsubishi, I was nervous spending that much money on a fridge when I could have bought others for half the price. Well it has been over One year now and I love my fridge.
First of all it cut down my power bill being a 3 1/2 star fridge.
Second it looks great and fits into most spaces, handy if you rent and are on the move.
Third this fridge hold an amazing amount of food. Great at christmas and party because shelves are adjustable. It is also easy to clean.
Fourth the ice draw is just the best and easy to use. We haven't run out of ice yet with two of us having a quiet drink.
Great fridge.

Sensational fridge BUT
After a lot of research we decided to get a Mitsubishi fridge because of the warranty and of all the different compartments. Fridge is great, does all the things it claims but we live in a power outage area, with power going out with a puff of wind. When the power comes back on the fridge freezes everything in it, including milk, cream, I mean all compartments and it won't be manually reset. Mitsubishi sent a repair man out who fixed it but now its happened again and I placed a repair request 5 days ago and still no reply other then the standard 'we received your request'. Great fridge but beware if you live in a constant power outage area! Sick of trying to defrost everything before eating and frozen milk is horrible.

Best Fridge for Today's Apartments & for the Price
The fridge offers a lot of internal space but does not require a big kitchen. It's quiet, easy to operate, and accurate temperatures. Most other brands with this dimension don't offer 562L only around 400L. This was even smaller than our 309L externally but its MASSIVE Internally at 562L. Freezer is also massive with a big Chiller everything in this Fridge is well thought of and was designed to meet today's requirements for an Efficient Design.
Most importantly the experience started with the salesperson at HN - Mel. She was great and very honest and offered the right product for our requirements.

Do not buy a Mitsubishi MR-EX562
Does it maintain a good temperature - ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
Decided to spend the dollars for a MR-EX562.
Will not operate at stated temperatures, its too warm.
Service agents made adjustments but still not satisfactory, it's too warm.
Never mind it has a 5 year "Quality Guarantee" it's too warm.
Unfortunately Mitsubishi refuse to do anything about it but it's too warm.
Do not buy this fridge.

What a terrific product
What a product! I have to say I am impressed with the Mitsubishi MR-EX562. Our old fridge an NEC FR 510 had given us good service for over 20 years but it was really wasn't up to the job anymore.
It would cool things down but it would take a whole day to do it regardless of the thermostat setting, similarly the freezer would take a long time to freeze anything.
I also had a space constraint with looking at any other 500 litre fridge-freezer, that aside to the Mitsubishi only one other brand would meet our space requirement. I wanted a 500lite...Read more

A whole dedicated draw space to rot your vegetables - GREAT!
I recently spent 3k+ on a MR-EX655 based on the 5 star reviews its received here, however it rots my vegetables. The fridge has a whole large draw space set aside as a vegetable crisper however carrots last a day before starting to soften, and three days before going brown. Even a chilli didn't last long.
The dedicated bottom drawer has three areas to store vegetables - a large bucket (similar to standard vegetable crisper sections in a single door style fridge), a tray which slides on the bucket, and a section in front of the bucket. NOTHIN...Read more
G stays crisp inside the bucket, which is far and away the largest area in the crisper drawer - it's useless and not fit for purpose. Secondly, didn't mitsubishi check the size of milk containers when designing the door shelves? You can only fit one 3L milk container (or any only large container) in the door, while other sections within the fridge can't accommodate any tall containers since NO internal shelves are height adjustable - you're kind of stuck with the shelf height the designers deemed satisfactory, which on regular occasions isn't convenient at all. With a fridge this size surely they'd assume you're feeding a large family and therefor may need more than one 3L bottle on hand, less you want to shop every second day. The fridge is overly complicated with the controls too, though this is probably true of any modern fridge. Note to fridge designers - people just want the thing to cool and freeze things so you can do away with 1000 customisable controls and functions - none of which are used regularly enough for you to remember what they did or how they work. The fridge is quiet, thought I can only compare it to my 20 year old Fisher & Paykel which after 20 years wasn't a church mouse - though it DID keep my vegetables crisp and fresh for a long time - which in my view is far more important that silent running.1 comment

Excellent fridge, not cheap but seems to be worth it.
We were forced to get a new fridge because the old Westinghouse decided to retire a day after serving us a good 17 years, moving house 5 times. After a bit of research on the Internet, we decided to get this Mitsubishi MR-EX562. Purchased this brand new unit from 2nds World as they could offer the best price. It was not cheap compared to other brands but we thought it was worth it. Still a product made in Japan so we hope the quality is still there.
The fridge is so quiet that we can hardly hear it running. It is able to maintain the temperature for all compartments and we like the arrangement of the drawers. The size is just right for our family.

Silence is Golden ... err - make that Platinum
After 16+ faithful years of service from our old fridge (a USA built Whirlpool), we decided to upgrade to something a tad more modern and most importantly something that generated a bit less noise around the house. I had been a fan of the big french door Samsung - so much in fact that I bought one for my mum last year. Unfortunately they've been dreadfully unhappy with it and having seen those struggles first hand I decided to steer clear of the brand. So then I read about the Mitsubishi - most notably the claim of low noise interested me. All ...Read more
the 5* ratings here did the rest and soon enough we were in-store ready to buy. The first decision to make was size. Our old unit was just under 550l, so we didn't want to consider anything smaller. In the end we settled on the MR-EX655 instead of the slightly smaller 562l variant, and I'm glad we did. Don't be fooled by the numbers. Yes it is large, but the appearance of a gigantic fridge is quickly diminished by some of the unusual constraints. Due to the many drawers (four of them), you need to think totally differently with this design compared to a big empty box (a.k.a. the old style fridge) where you have probably a bit more flexibility. With the Mitsubishi you need to think : Fridge, ice, freezer, freezer, veggies. The reason being that each compartment has quite specific and rigid temperature limits. I'll explain what I mean.. The upper main fridge part on this big 655l unit was actually smaller (i.e 327 l vs 396 l) than our older and overall smaller fridge. The reason of course is because the fridge and the veggie segment are split. The vegetable compartment drawer (the lowest drawer) is 116 litres, which is quite large and combining the two certainly starts to overtake our older fridge in size. The veggie area is purely for that purpose however. It has an always-on orange type light to keep your veggies fresher longer (neat idea) and more importantly an elevated temperature compared to the fridge. The fridge can bet set from 0-6 degrees, whereas the vegetable drawer goes from 3-9. If you regularly shop for heaps of vegies, this is awesome but if you just need a very large fridge (e.g. for lots of drinks) then be careful. Width is probably no different to a standard single door unit, however the double french doors are great at limiting the intrusion of space into the kitchen area. Bonus points for the triple internal fridge drawers to help organise contents, although the egg holder is only for 10 eggs - not a dozen. The door bins are split into two rows. Front is OK for slimmer bottles, however they do only just squeeze in a regular sized Ozzy 1.25l drink bottles. Luckily the 2nd row at the back supports a bigger 2L milk bottle or larger variants. Height is probably the main thing you will struggle with. Shelves are essentially fixed (although the lower one has a great height adjust slider). The top two shelves do however slide back to give you some more height on the lower shelves. The fridge also has to accommodate the water container for the ice maker, which takes away some more valuable fridge real estate. The ice maker is a really simple and uncomplicated design however which works very well. The small drawer under the fridge is dedicated for ice only. A fantastic feature in my opinion. Much much better than those door dispensers where you have to stand there for ages whilst the thing grinds and pops away. This is genius simplicity .. slide the drawer open and shovel away. They even give you a little ice scoop within the drawer - Fantastic! You can disable the ice maker and use the drawer as another freezer space, but it's questionable re-purposing that unit due to the limited height it offers.Similar opinion? it was worth waiting for !!
We saw this fridge a year ago and thought it was amazing, so when we designed our new kitchen we planned ahead to buy it after it was all finished. Who'd have thought buying a fridge could be exciting?
I had some doubts before buying this fridge, but the reviews spoke volumes and it did have some unusually cool innovations - and, you know what they say - happy wife, happy life! Now that we have it, I have to admit to being kind of happy myself. The're is no doubt the multi-drawer concept makes great sense. Just as modern kitchens have plenty of drawers rather than cupboards so items aren't lost at the back, so should every fridge. Although the main vegie drawer is huge, everything in it is easy to find because the multi-layered compartments a...Read more
re so well designed. The top drawer slides back to reveal the next level, and there is a separate, deeper compartment at the front for bulky items such as pumpkins and bunches of kale and silver beet. Those items used to clog the fronts of several shelves in our old fridge but not any more. The drawer is also quite light and opens and closes easily, unlike the big cumbersome freezer drawers on so many modern fridges. My main concerns before buying this fridge were: a) the upper shelves in the main compartment were not height adjustable, and seemed too closely spaced b) the larger drawer inside the main fridge compartment (what I thought was a small vegie crisper but actually turned out to a colder area for meats and cheeses) only opened half-way, making it awkward to get to items at the rear. c) the door compartments seemed unnecessarily high and overly spaced vertically, ie there could have been four, rather than three door compartments/shelves. Well, once we changed our stacking system and learned to put things in different places, we actually found the shelf spacing to be spot on. We can actually see and reach everything. I do stand by my second point about the chiller drawer, but you can just lift the front of it to bring it out past the stops when necessary. The door compartments hold a surprising amount of bottles and cartons of all sizes and, being french doors, allow you to access those compartments really easily and quickly without having to open both doors and lose cold air. Ice maker: We wouldn't have dreamed of buying a Samsung or LG which sacrifices so much door space for ice making, but the dedicated ice tray in the EX655 is a winner. It is compact and so easy to access without releasing cold air from the fridge. The fridge was easy to install, being on smoothly rolling casters, with very easily adjustable locking feet. Lastly, being brushed stainless, the fridge looks good and is universally suited to any kitchen (unlike the big brother 743 model). I was a doubter, but I don't think you can go wrong with this fridge. And you can actually have a bit of fun enjoying its "coolness"!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hi Paul,
There could be a couple of reasons for this. Just double-check that there aren't any ice cubes underneath the ice storage box. Remove and inspect and check no ice cubes have fallen over the back and gone underneath it.
If the ice tray has been removed, make sure the ice tray lock lever is in the correct position.
Take a look at the troubleshooting section of the User Manual (Downloads section, bottom of page):
