Excellent service by recommended Mitsubishi service agent, Forster Tuncurry area
When our ducted air conditioning stopped working on Tues, 28/1/20, I contacted
Mitsubishi and was given 3 local repair agents names in the Forster/Tuncurry area. We rang Ethical Electrical & Refrigeration (Neil Thompson) on Wed, 29/1/20. How lucky were we to have chosen this business. Neil called on us on Fri morning 31/1/20. He fixed the problem quickly, explained the repair and showed us the problem. It was very pleasant dealing with Neil who was very honest and definitely lives by the words on his business card "Ethical Electrical & Refrigeration, putting people before profit. We would highly recommend Neil to anyone in our area.
Thanks Neil for great service.

14Dkw ducted unit installed lasted 3 weeks until weather got hot.
My ducted unit was installed and running on the 4th November 2022. It worked well until the 9th December. I contacted my installer who managed to come out yesterday, 29th December. There seems to be a valve issue with the unit. He contacted Mitsubishi who won't have technicians available until next year. Never mind I care for a 91yo father who's just surviving the 40c+ temps we're having. Way to go Mitsubishi. You're all heart.

Mitsubishi dealers extremely poor pre sales customer service beggars disbelief
One of Mitsubishi Diamond Dealers DMJ Air conditioning measured our house for replacement of dcted air conditioner. A quote was to be emailed the following week. Despite numerous unanswered calls and SMS I contact Mitsubishi via Facebook Messenger to obtain a reliable dealer.
1 week plus later no Diamond Dealer contacted me despite our readiness to do business
We requested quotes from Panasonic, Fujitsu and Daikin which all came i within 48 hours and follow up calls to us were made trying hard to convince us to buy from them.

This Product Is Extremely Disappointing And Does Not Heat Effectively
We recently upgraded our 14kw reverse cycle refrigerated ducted system with mitsubishi heavy. It is useless in the cold taking up to 2 hours to effectively warm a small 2 bedroom unit whereas our previous 14kw unit took 20 minutes. A call out proved futile. We were told this is how it works and were charged a call out fee despite requesting a number of items be checked that were done and were charged for it in any event. If you want effective heating stay clear of this unit and look at another brand. Our electricity bills have also significantl...Read more
y increased with this unit. My previous review was not listed for some reason. I think people should know about the problem before selecting this unit. The service man from Acute was more interested in pleasing Mitsubishi and very curt treating me like an idiot than isolating the problem. We were also charged for things he did not check and despite arguing the bill still had to be paid. We have blocked every possible way that cold air may come in from inside to no avail. We still cannot get the unit warmed up in less than 2 hours give or take. It will be a very cold winter unless we buy another unit. Huge regret buying this unit.1 comment

Very disappointed
I have recently purchased two split systems. one is 7.1KW and another one 3.5kw. unless I put the units on the powerful mode they do NOT blow icicle air. and it's not summer yet. I very disappointed as I thought MHI is the best in the market

Airconditioning unit is so quiet
Our Mitsubishi 3.5kw airconditioning unit is so quiet and efficient we are delighted. The neighbour must be appreciative of the outdoor unit - you have to stand right next to it to hear anything. It is an attractive unit inside the house and outside.

Avanti 2.5kW - Great A/C unit
I have just had the Avanti 2.5kW installed in my daughter's nursery. A great unit that is perfect for the room. I dealt directly with MHIAA and the whole process from purchase to install was seamless. Highly recommended

In early February 2022 we replaced our evap cooler for a MHI 14kw rev cycle air con with an installed cost of over $11,000. The local agent/installers got it going late on the second day of installation, it worked well for the 4 hrs or so that it was on. Next day, a Friday it wouldn't start. We were told it was a module that wasn't sending the right voltage to the fan, it'll be Wednesday before the part would arrive. Parts installed, got going & for approx 14 days & an estimated total operating time of 55hrs it wouldn't again. This time it's el...Read more
ectrical again, but the fan that is in the ducting system. Once again the proverbial wait on parts. Apparently this machine has a 5 yr warranty. It doesn't look good. We have told the installer/agent that the next time will be its last. We will deem it "not fit for purpose" under consumer law & get it removed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Warranty Claim handled brilliantly
My 4 year old A/C went faulty on a Sunday Night. My unit was still under 5 year warranty so lodged the Claim via the online Web form that evening with MHI. A Gentleman called Chris called from MHI called Monday morning and stepped me through a couple of trouble shooting tips but sadly the unit still came back with error messages. He then advised my claim would be passed through to the local Service Agent in Bendigo. Thursday the Service agent called and arranged a time to come and inspect the Unit ( which was a Saturday). Monday I was inf...Read more
ormed the Motherboard was Faulty and the part had been ordered and could take 7 to 10 working days to arrive in Bendigo ( kinda normal if you dont live in the Metro area) . Friday I was called and advised the part had arrived and we arranged for the repair to take place on the following Wed . Don the local Service Agent called that morning and confirmed the time he would be at my house. He arrived on time and the repair was done within an hour. Don showed me the faulty part ( clearly a chip failure of some kind as the chip on the board was melted) Don tested the unit and all was good again. I cannot fault the Claim and repair service and am very happy with MHI and its Service agent.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great work Globalrez.
From the first contact, Gary and the guys from Globalrez did an amazing job, the installers arrived on time, efficiently and professionally installed the Mitsubishi ducted system which is really quiet and when the work was completed they cleaned up and removed all the packaging. I have no hesitation in recommending Globalrez.

Cheap Chinese crap with the service to match
My unit was faulty from the moment it was installed. After 4 weeks of phone calls, emails and requests of many videos from Mitsubishi Heavy Ind they now have offered me a refund. But first they want to rip out my unit and leave me with just a hole in the wall in the hot tropical heat until they get the the unit and decide when to refund me so then I can replace it with a better brand like Daikin which could take up to another month. It is a cheap piece of Chinese crap and they have the service to match. I'll never touch another Mitsubishi product again

Managing Director was very helpful with customer service
My 4 year old MHI Air Conditioner (SRC35ZJ-S1) stopped cooling/heating and I submitted an online warranty claim. The response was very efficient and two faults were found by a contract technician. However, MHI advised him that the faults were not covered by warranty. One fault was the fan motor and they offered no reason for excluding it under warranty. However, they did offer to replace it for no charge anyway, for which I was grateful.
The other fault was the main board and apparently large numbers of ants had caused a short. The warranty...Read more
excludes “Any damage to the equipment caused by negligence, ingress or any foreign matter or person, animal or plant or part thereof..”, which means that if an ant is found inside, MHIAA can argue that warranty does not apply. However, the manual for the a/c does not advise how to keep insects/animals out and it seems to specifically exclude using insecticide. I explained this to the local service manager and did not get anywhere. I can understand that MHIAA (and other a/c suppliers) can't control what happens to an outside unit, so they need to protect themselves from unreasonable claims. The issue for me is that I have three other MHIAA a/cs that are under warranty and I need some clear advice about how to prevent the same thing happening to them. So I wrote to the Managing Director of MHIAA and he was very helpful. I was given a full refund and they are going to review the manual. Overall, although it took a bit of chasing, I was very pleased that MHIAA were prepared to be generous.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Purchased a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries C7.1kW H8.0kW Reverse Cycle Split System
Absolutely love this air conditioner. We purchased this brand and another and we definitely regret the other. But this is wonderful. Chills/heats the room in minutes. We've had it since November and we love it.
Also we have found the customer service to be great, we purchased via a respectable appliance company when Mitsubishi industries were offering a cashback with purchase. Claim for cashback was simple and easy and received in a timely manner. Had communication with company regarding cashback and they were great to deal with and Haven't have any issues with air conditioner either.
If we need any more airconditioners. This is our brand of choice.

Very quiet, powerful and effective.
A few weeks ago I substituted my noisy,40 DB on the quiet setting, Panasonic AC split system bedroom unit for a Mitsubishi unit. And wow what a difference. It is virtually silent (19db) when the fan is on the low setting and the unit is very powerful. I have quite a few AC units across several houses and I'm happy with the 9 Mitsubishi units, less happy with the Daikins and dislike and distrust the Panasonic units and their customer service.

Update: One of my Mitshubisi A.Cs. broke down. Within 12 hours of contacting them the unit is fixed under warranty.
Update: The Panasonic 40db boomer was shifted to another house into a less noise-sensitive area....it still booms... so much for the non-visiting Panasonic experts who claimed it was due to a rooftop mounting.

Top of the line brand!
We have used plenty of MHI's and many of our family and friends have done the same. Their after sales support is second to none. After reading some of the below reviews, its obvious people are using electricians to install air conditioners! We have only ever used qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Tradesman, electricians aren't licenced to service, repair or do warranty work on A/C's anyway. Our installers tell us that a lot of problems with A/Cs come from a bad install anyway.

Poor Customer Service
This post is in relation to the Customer Service Team and the Summer Cash Bonus promotion offered in 2016. We submitted our application for the Summer Cash Back Bonus on Friday, 16 December, 2016. We were advised that:
"Once checked and approved, your Cash Bonus will be sent to your nominated bank account in 4 to 6 weeks."
However, after no payment from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in two months, we contacted Customer Care on Friday, 3 February and again on Monday, 6 February, 2017. We are still awaiting a response from the Customer Care team. Quite disappointed in the lack of communication and delay with the payment process.

Great system.
Has all the features I wanted, good quality and very well priced compared to similar units. The unit is very quiet and you hardly hear it running. The remote is easy to use and it cools the house quickly. Highly recommend this brand and comes with a 2 year factory warranty. I also received $100.00 cash back, which made the system even more affordable.

Absolutely the worst after sales service EVER!
We purchased 5 MHI spilt system air conditioners in July last year, against our better judgement as we had trouble with 2 of the 3 Mitsubishi air cons we had in a previous property but the installer assured us that MHI air cons were the best. The largest unit, from day 1, made a very audible (especially at night when its quiet) droning sound that could be heard at the other end of the house. MHIs contract repairer came out (hungover) to look and gave my wife some rubbish about it being the inverter, and it was normal. I knew this was not the c...Read more
ase so I phoned the installer who eventually got the WA state manager to come to our house, he was a very unhelpful chap that was obviously not the least bit interested. Eventually he admitted that the noise was not normal and said he would send a request through to the engineers in japan to get a fix, we now know that was a complete lie. 2 months later I called and he said he'd been on holidays and to leave it with him. I am still waiting to hear 4 moths later and he obviously thinks I have given up which after paying $3000 for an air conditioner is not going to happen. I sent MHI an enquiry about 2 months ago telling them I was about to file a report with consumer protection which they just ignored, well now I am going to lodge that report. Absolutely pathetic MHI !!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Poor customer service - Mitsubishi Heavy
I purchased a Mitsubishi Inverter Split air conditioning systems on the recommendation of our electrician and had it installed last summer. It worked beautifully and we were very happy with it.
In the last few months, we had noticed that the system had lost a lot of its original power (or grunt)with the fan not blowing the air anywhere near the strength it had early on. We contacted our installer who checked everything out and although he agreed that the system had lost a lot of its strength, he couldn't determine the reason for this and sugg...Read more

We installed 2 spilt systems SRK25ZSA-W x 1 SRK35ZSA-W x 1 on 14 Jan 2020. The 2.5kw in downstairs works well. However the 3.5kw in upstairs room is quite noise. It is very noisy when running but at time it goes quieter for a while. When I shut it down it has unusual background noise/sound "gi gi gi gi gi" and other sound before shutting down. I don't have that for my 10 years old air conditioning unit. The 2.5kw does not have these issues. I called my installer and they said it is common and they are the noise of the refrigerant running in hot weather. I tried this morning and it is 19 degree it is still noisy with that sound when shutting down.
The installer is too busy to come and said if I call mitsubishi then they will charge me. I asked then what is the warranty for? Can I ask anyone has similar issues? We choose Mitsubishi Heavy Industries because of its good reputation of quality and reliability. I can't turn on the air conditioning unit as it is too noisy and I can't sleep with that noise.
Any help is appreciated. Can I call for warranty for this case? Is it chargeable?

Hi Angela, sorry to hear you have these issues. Unfortunately I'm not an aricon specialist.
I suggest you write to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners Australia on their Facebook and chat with Glen. He is most helpful and am sure will sort matter out for you.
Glen A.Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Hi Angela,
Sorry to hear of the issues you're having. While all split systems will definitely make some noise when being switched on/off and while running, it's hard to tell whether the noise is normal without physically assessing the unit. I'd maybe suggest taking a video which clearly shows the noise and sending it to us via our Facebook page -https://www.facebook.com/MHIAustralia/
Hi Glen,
Thankyou so so much. Will take a video tonight and sent thru. Much appreciated your prompt feedback.

During bushfires smoke does mhi inverta aircond take air from out side or is it best to turn off
2 answers
Sorry Ken I don't know the answer to your question. Perhaps it's best to phone Mitsubishi. Interesting question though.
Glen A.Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Hi Ken. All MHI systems (both split systems and ducted systems) are designed to recirculate air from within your home. Neither system takes air from outside so they are both safe to run. Most modern MHI split systems also incorporate a specialised photocataytic filter which does capture smoke particles. We also suggest to close all windows and doors to try and reduce the amount of smoke in your home.
