Best fridge on the Planet!
We've had this amazing fridge for 14 mths now. Can't stop loving it! Very quiet operation, ice maker is quite effective and pumps out heaps of ice (so long as you remember to fill the tray...), keeps foodstuffs/drinks super cool and we are just using the default settings it came with as the recommended temps are in spec to what a fridge should be running at (checked with a fridge thermometer). One tiny issue is that the reflective black does show up the finger marks and strangers can't work out where to open the main doors from - this leads to more finger marks as they fumble around. But, it's easily cleaned with a bit of glass spray so not a real issue.

First one had to be replaced, but second one is fine (except the ice maker)
We bought a display unit from Second's World off the show room floor (none in inventory and we needed a new fridge, fast). It worked fine for a year, but then the ice unit quit working properly. The ice would take an extremely long time to make and produced misshapen ice cubes. Several repair visits didn't fix it and eventually, it quit making ice no matter how long we waited. Mitsubishi ended up replacing it with a new fridge as the only thing that wasn't replaced was the compressor which isn't a field replaceable item. The fridge has wor...Read more
ked fine since replacement. We didn't use the ice maker for a few months (had a bag of ice in the freezer) and I tried it out recently. It worked, but the Ecostar rating that the fridge uses went from the maximum of 3 stars to 2 stars. This was the same issue we had originally with our defective fridge, with only one Ecostar showing after the ice unit stopped working. I ended up turning off the ice making feature on the new fridge and after a couple of days, the Ecostar returned to 3 stars. Seems as though using the ice maker may make the fridge less efficient which was one of the main reasons we bought this particular fridge: it's energy rating was excellent...on the advertising. It appears that using the fridge as it was intended to be used, with a functioning ice maker, may make it less energy efficient than what has been advertised. We've now stopped using the ice maker again, which was another feature that we had purchased this unit for: unplumbed ice making capabilities. It's a good fridge otherwise and other than the ice maker, would recommend it. Also our quarterly electricity bill was reduced substantially as a result of switching from our old energy inefficient fridge to the Mitsubishi. And kudos to Mitsubishi for replacing the entire fridge with a brand new unit without any issues. Great service, thank you Mitsubishi.Purchased in November 2021 at 2nds World Physical store for $3,975.00.

Everyone should own this fridge
I bought one these fridges about 2 years ago after doing a lot of research, and just recently convinced my mother in law to buy one -- no regrets!
My favourite feature would be the massive veggie draw - I'm a vegetarian so suits perfectly :) or you can put whatever in it. Great for storing large things like cakes or medications that need to be refrigerated, etc. The door compartments are really generous, freezer surprisingly roomy, excellent energy rating.

door, but a rep came out and fixed it (they removed a sliver of the rubber seal that was holding the flap ajar). Her fridge is silver, I didn't have any issues with the door in the black version. Perhaps some kind of manufacturing issue? Hopefully Mitsubishi has rectified this as I understand it's been a common problem. Pros Glass panel - no worries about denting the front panel (this was a concern for me due to moving house often). Veggie draw! (love it) Ice maker that doesn't need to be plumbed in

Best Fridge I have had.
The French doors make it easy to see all in the fridge.
The vegetable drawer keeps the vegetables really fresh for longer than any other fridge that I have had.
The meat compartment is a very smart idea and also keeps meat fresh longer. Also a great sized freezer.
Love the glass doors they look really smart and goes in well with the rest of my kitchen.
This fridge is the same campacity 630 litres as other brands I have purchased but this fridge is more compact and sleek not as bulky which is a great feature.

Great fridge except for flimsy plastic parts
This fridge is great. Plenty of space for family of 5 (we did already have a separate chest freezer). We have noticed a difference in our power bill due to it's efficiency over our old fridge despite this one being much larger. The semi-auto ice maker is great and takes up very minimal space. Food is kept at the right temp and it seems to be even throughout the fridge space. Very easy to organise and rearrange if needing to fit large platters etc. Separate vegie drawer is sturdy and great. Kids get free range in there if hungry so they are eati...Read more
ng healthier. So why only 4 stars? Despite all that's great above they went cheap on the flimsy plasticy chiller drawers, cheese shelf flap and leg covers. One of the leg covers never fitted properly from day 1 (this I don't really care about). The cheese shelf flap has broken already (this is really annoying and will need to be replaced). Despite this, overall happy with purchase. We got it for a really great price, best looking fridge in it's price range, runs well, efficient and quiet.Similar opinion? It is so great. I love it
Very Happy with this purchase, This replaced another one that bit the dust. I have this outside in FL under a large awning by pool and it keeps everything including storage in door ice cold at half setting. It is kept high and dry but outside in heat. No freezer and plenty storage with adjustable glass shelves which is decent for bottle and can storage. Shipped fast and I was impressed with packaging albiet lots of packaging trash but well done

Perfect and quite roomy
This is our 1st Mitsubishi consumer product, its a great looking fridge and quite large for a growing family. Love the ice making function without plumbing.
Though some of the shelves (super chill) are a bit plasticy and flimsy compared to other brands...just hoping it lasts the tenure. Will give it a Go!

Cannot find any information on what happens with the automatic ice maker if there is not enough water? If no further ice is needed for a few days does it still need purging after stop ice making is applied?
1 answer
Hello Mini, I agree. The instruction manual does not address your first question at all. I'm not sure what you mean with reference to 'purging' but if you decide on no further ice, you have to manually switch off the ice making function. I'm not sure why. Again the manual does not specifically give reason to switch off or leave on or if the ice making pump continues to work, etc etc. Perhaps Mitsubishi, if you are monitoring this forum, could chip in with further advice on this?

Is the brilliant black a glossy black colour?
1 answer
I have a silver coloured but they have surface glass surface doors & drawers so it would appear glossy.
