Great Car - Very Versatile, Roomy, Reliable.
I've had the MY09 Outlander since new and it's been serviced regularly per logbook and any recalls. Currently heading for 200,000 kms and not showing her age at all. Comfortable to drive, no issue with oil or fuel consumption, roomy and my fave thing is the drop-down tailgate - so wish that was available in cars now. AWD works well for extra grip when needed. Very handy to load gear in or pull up to the beach an hop in the back to enjoy the view on a chilly day. Downsides have been the fold down seats taking up space (otherwise could sleep in b...Read more
ack) and the second row seats are a little hard for a longer drive. Overall, it's a great car for what it is and has suited my purposes. Its value now is low so will keep running it to see how many kms I can get out of it.Purchased in December 2021.

ned it's keep Handles well and a very safe and forgiving car to drive. Reasonable on fuel. Air con is excellent. Nice Dash display, Sound system pretty good for a base model. Mitsubishi tend to have very good engineering and design and it shows.Purchased in March 2021 for $32,000.00.

8 years of hassle free driving
I bought this car new in 2010 to accomodate a growing family. One of the biggest deciding factors in it's purchase was the boot size of the wagon. I spoke to a few Outlander owners and all had nothing but praise for it so I bought one.,(most had multiple outlanders also).
I use mainly for driving from one side of Melbourne to the other daily and fuel consumption is generally 11l/100kms a tank but it's much less when the traffic is flowing, ie, 7 or 8 litres per 100kms and similar on the highway.
The only problems I've had is the aircon died a...Read more

Good for mild to modarate off roading and regular commute
I bought this used car from a Mitsubishi dealer and the odo was 100k at the date of purchase. It was a well maintained car previously owned by CBA. After that I added another 61k to the odo. In my experience it is smooth and generally responsive as I am not driving AMG or Mustang. The longest drive was 1350km in one day from Adelaide to Sydney with two refueling and ofcourse without any issue with my wife and two kids. After Goulburn, it started to rain heavily and I turned my AWD on. After that it became so stable on the wet road that I have o...Read more
vertaken no less than 50 cars who were struggling to drive even on 60k/h and I was driving at 100k/h on 110 zone. I have done some sand dunes with my family in it at Anna bay with AWD lock. Drove from Snowy mountain to Khankoban and did some mild off roading on the way. Boot space is pretty awesome. It holds my portable BBQ stove and camping gears at ease. The only major servicing I did was replacing my 4 engine mount.1 comment

Good pick up and comfortable driving
Very good in driving, very comfortable. Performance is very good as well as I have drove CRV as well. Likes it's rear space, biggest I have seen in comparative suv cars. Fuel economy is not as good as I would like but It's ok for suv. Off road is good as well.

Great for a growing family
We have had this car for 8 years now and had no issues. Reliable and cheap to run. We have the LS 7 seat model but it really only fits 5 due to 3 kids still in car seats. The only reason I would get this again is we need a minibus as we intend to have more kids. Easy drive and the cruise control is great

Excellent and affordable with lots of gadgets too!
I was in the market for a midsize SUV that can fit 5 people easily with an occasional need of third row seats. I spent quite few months in finding best car that fits our budget, need and yet sophisticated. Mitsubishi trumped all other SUVs in the market.
Mitsubishi Outlander is good for...

Quieter than Toyota, Mazda and Hyundai+Kia

Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 4wd
Initial Thought:
This is my 3rd Mitsubishi, after trading my mirage to Frankston Mitsubishi with Mitsubishi Outlander auto 4wd XLS model. Got mixed feeling at first because it is a big vehicle in compare with tiny mirage but after 3 years of driving to mostly in tarmac, I can say it is running good so far. Took it to sydney, Great Ocean Road, Gramphian, Mt. Buller and all around Victoria. It drove well. There has been few recall from Mitsubishi motor and they do it free of cost. Only problem is you have to leave the car whole day at service ce...Read more

Piece of Junk
Hired through Thrifty and it was awful, the engine didn't have sufficient torque for the size of vehicle making a loud knocking noise at idle and the automatic transmission was erratic. The location of controls wa not thought through and the suspension wallowed over lumps and bumps in the road surface making it difficult to control on a sealed road. If you are a smaller stature like myself the driver's seating adjustment was lacking, resulting in a massive headache after an hour drive.

all round good car, horrible on oil consumption!
great, reliable car, the "4WD" function is a bit of a misnomer as it simply converts to an "AWD" and changes the power put to the back tyres; but a good function, and really changes the way it drives especially on wet, windy roads. Does go through A LOT of oil, we have to top up between regular services, needs oil top up after only 5000kms post service, so this is an issue, but other than that has been a great, comfortable car

2009 Mitsubishi Outlander was such a great experience!
I had borrow a 4WD 2009 Outlander for a year, absolutely perfect powerful 4WD 7 seater SUV just as you expect from a 4WD SUV. Although the third-row seats ARE NOT SUITABLE for adults or big mid sized people as there is really little leg room, third-row seats are more for toddlers or younger children. Other than that, putting the third-row seats down can create such a large cargo area and it can pull 2 tons (2000kg) and handle really deep muddy terrains like its nothing. Such a great powerful SUV, recommend this vehicle!

Great car for a great price
This car ticks all the boxes, great performance, not too many buttons on the dash like some other similar cars, plenty of leg room and doesn't cost too much to run. Can get quite a few KMs out of a tank which is important with rising fuel prices. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a medium size SUV

Love my Car The VRX V6 Outlander
Performance Excellent for a v6 and handling very good,no abnormal noises or road noise
The interior does have full leather seats, and very comfortable with enough leg room
Out lander a very reliable vehicle,It does use a bit of fuel in heavy stop start traffic, but this car is really happy on the open road with its 6 speed transmission doing 110kmh at 1800-2000 rpm giving us 7.5 l 100km to 10l 100km depending on road and driving conditions. Just dont know why Mitsubishi Australia stop selling the V6,new 2017 Models are available in other country,s.

Dependable cheap and has no soul.
Never had a problem with my rig. It has always worked well and is cheap to service. The CVT transmission just makes it such a "meh" car to drive.

Love this car, suits my family really well
We have the 4 cylinder version. I would have to say it's a heavy car so can be a little dead climbing hills etc but with a little family in the back of the car that is fine. The CVT makes a bit of noise but you only notice this from the outside. If you have two baby/booster seats in the back then you can forget about squeezing anybody in between both seats
Overall it is an economical car and serves the needs for our family of four.

Smooth Ride
Bought a 2 year old 2L 2WD Silver Outlander, petrol consumption is great and its nice to drive, though a little gutless. Have found that its not easy to upgrade the stereo, it doesn't come with GPS, to get a Mitsubishi upgrade costs $3500, and any double din stereo from a car audio pkace requires an extra bracket at $170 or so. I found a stereo on ebay that uses the whole faceplate, but only fits a left hand drive.

Just love this car thank you Mitsubishi.
Excellent experience with our Mitsubishi Outlander a great car to drive & it's so quite even on the open Highways. We are very happy with the legroom & You can see that the interior is of very good quality. It's only a little over 2 mths old but we are more than happy with everything about our Outlander & the running costs are great. Love driving this car.

Nice car - shame about the known fault in the ABS Module
This is a lovely car for its age. We have the 2010 model. All leather interior, lovely smooth drive, plenty of power in the V6. Amazing sound system, sunroof.
Unfortunately this model, along with Lancers, was fitted with a faulty ABS Module which is a $3000 fix. There should have been a recall.
Despite that, the car is very nice and nothing else appears to have any problems at all.

7years manufactur's warrenty and 3 years extended warrenty. There are lot of standard features which the same other classes does offer with additional 5k to 7k extra out of your pocket. It comes with a 65L tank. I went through some of reviews by the professional review writers and most of them differs from my experience. My suggestion to you guys are do not sololy make your decision upon the professional review writers because many of them are biased I think so. Though some of them are true. Please identify your need first, like what kind of car do you need for at least next 10 years, would it be a reliabl car, what are the after sales services, if there may rise any issue does they go for recall (like Honda did not went for recall for their airbag), modarate running cost, comfortable to drive, head and leg room, boot space and relevant technology are the few. Make your own list according to your need. In my case happy wife happy me.
