Great Vehicle
We bought our 2007 Pajero Exceed second hand, we previously had a Nissan XTrail TI that was too small for our needs. This was the first time we had purchased second hand as our other vehicles have been purchased new.
We are really happy with our Pajero, it has all the bells and whistles of a top of the range model, leather seats are a must if you have kids or frequent the beach as they are so easy to keep clean. Ours is the pearl white which I really like, it always looks clean unless coated in mud of course and the colour is a bit differe...Read more
nt to the white and silver, I would have this colour again. It has plenty of room in the front and back. We added a snorkel, ERPS (electronic rust protection system), rubber floor mats which make cleaning very easy, especially sand, roof racks, reversing camera for safety and a Pioneer Sat Nav which cost us a bit, we originally wanted the VMS and when they tried to fit it realised they couldn't because of the sophisticated sound system in the exceed model. Our model didn't come standard with sat nav unfortunately. We have a farm that is 5.5 hours from where we live and it has never let us down. We also go camping quite to remote and beach areas and have found it fantastic off road. The sound system is awesome, as is the DVD player that drops down from the roof, the screen is a good size and keeps our toddler amused on our monthly journey to our farm. The heated seats are lovely for winter and I like the fact that it has soft lighting at your feet when the headlights are on at night time, it doesn't leave the interior of the vehicle pitch black in darkness. When you unlock the vehicle remotely lights in the side mirrors which gives you some light to see what you are doing, especially handy where there is no overhead lighting. We love the 10 year warranty too which gives you road side assist should you ever require it.

Excellent
Excellent vehicle, plenty of room, comfortable, quiet, great on long trips. Have seen speedo showing 180kph on quiet country road and still accelerating.
Excellent power and economy, 2006 VR-X DiD diesel 5sp manual 8.5L/100km with over 900km from a tank regularly. Great touring vehicle have done 45,000km under 12 months, no problems. Off road on sand twice no problem. Original Bridgestone tyres still fitted with plenty of tread left. Just over 2000 RPM gives 100kph and rarely need to change for hills, will accelerate up hills.

Excellent
I have the VR-X version with all the trimmings, for the last 18 months I clocked up over 50,000km on the odometer already. I don't want to jinx myself by saying this but it hasn't let me down yet. I've taken it pretty much all over NSW for work already. It's a great work horse when it comes to reliability in regional places. I'm looking forward for the real 4WD test, touring around Australia with it, the great Outback test. A few modifications will have to be considered before the long journey, but it will be worth the money. I would strongly r...Read more
ecommend this car for any 4WD nut, don't believe all the hype with the Prados, Landrovers, Pathfinders or any other 4WD reviews. Reserve your judgement till you test drive a Pajero. Good built quality. Great for the Australian offroad conditions. 5 to 10 year warranty. Reliable & affordable. The new look driver console is great, it's up to date with current model 4WDs. Lots of room for a big family. Great sound system. Driver terrain select. Small fuel tank capacity only 88L. Petrol a bit thirsty, strongly recommend the diesel for good fuel economy. Lights on console a bit hard to see. Servicing cost a bit expensive.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent
I've owned my Mitsubishi Pajero, 3.2 Litre Turbo, VRX 3.2 Litre Auto, for 12 months now. The Pajero has just covered 16,000km, only problem I had with the motor was with the PPF, which Mitsubishi rectified with a computer upgrade. Since this was rectified, the Pajero hasn't missed a beat. Averaged 11.5 litres per 100km on a 5000 km return trip to Queensland which hasn't too bad considering the Pajero was loaded up, sitting on 110kmh, with the air con on max in 44 degree heat. Overall I'm happy with my NS Pajero.

Good
Absolute dream to drive good on and off road except for soft sand which is its biggest down fall, it needs to have a button to switch off the traction control. Other than that issue nothing bad to say about it.
Great diesel economy (500kms to 1/2 a tank inc off road driving) dream to drive powerful DI-D excellent in mud, rocky terrain, sand dunes great looking piece of machinery.
TRACTION CONTROL which CANNOT be turned off cost 300 in 4x4 recovery cause it wouldn't go anywhere once one of the wheels slipped it wouldn't budge even in 4L which ASC is automatically switches off still wouldn't go anywhere rather disappointed in that regard.

Good
I love my Pajero. I have had it for 18 months now and only a small problem with leaking o ring in the first couple of weeks. I had a 2002 model for 5 years prior and it did not miss a beat. This one is a tad quieter, which is not so fantastic as the roos don't hear me coming so much! Have hit 4 in this car and none in the last one. It is a good 4x4 and will stick with Pajero. Only thing I regret is buying an auto. I do believe this one is slightly more economical than my last Pajero, which was a manual, but if I had stuck to my guns and not let...Read more
the sales fella talk me into an auto then it would be getting even better fuel economy. I notice when I put my foot down to go past a slower vehicle that it lags a bit before dropping the overdrive off for the power. You don't have that problem with the manual. My brother in law has a new Prado and it is a 6 speed manual. The fuel economy is incredible. Plus the Pajero does only have the small tank. But at this point I don't know if I would change over to the Prado. It has the power to tow the 2 tonne boat and I have a 110L Waeco in the back of the car constantly along with the labrador and it all fits no probs. The VRX has everything you could hope for, especially the DVD player for the kids! Very comfy 4 wheel drive. Love the new look. The anti slip thing. Not good when traveling on gravel as all the power just cuts so you can't accelerate during a slide. Probably good for when on bitumen and sliding but not when on gravel, or in slippery mud! Have to remember to turn it off prior to gaining a bit of speed or else it won't let you turn it off.1 comment

Continually meets my needs & expectations
As member of Pajero Club of VIC (great club!) I have used this vehicle on a number of testing 4WD trips... VIC high country, Cape York (with camper trailer), Simpson Desert. Have done 110, 000km since new, no problems.
This is a great car... Easy to drive, tows well, good fuel economy, good value for money.
Negatives... Engine noisy, radio quality only fair: no internal control for antenna! And I needed to add an extra 60L fuel tank.
Have also fitted extra under-body protection.
Has all the off-road technology you need at a reasonable price. cf. Prado
Dustproofing poor

se days are treated with Tectyl upon delivery. I have taken out seatrow 2+3 and installed an electric crane insted for heavy lifts to save my back <150kgs. Stiff handling and suspensions makes me don't want to drive fast with this car on bitumen/asphalt, but I bought it for it off road capabillities. I like driving in the mountains and there it's the best car you can think of for that price. Double set of accus are also a good thing in the winter. Having fitted both electric and diesel engine heaters a built in battery charger is a must. Finallly I would have like the powersteering to have been a bit more precise, it's feels rather too american to my liking, but this may change as I get more used to the car. The car is down to earth - no fancies built and I like to see that money is being spent on solid construction rather than electronics tough they have put in a massive stereo inside the car. Ok, I can't play that loud at home and without the rear seats I have got myself a real concert hall so in the end: Thank you Mitsubishi!Exactly! The Pajero is all add ons if you want it as a 4x4. Drive away its ok for a roughish road and shopping! Why should it be necessary to pay for underbody hardening on a 4x4? The radio wit... Read more

Poor design for caravaners
The towbar hitch is restricted by the central mounted spare tyre, rear door cannot be opened without disconnecting the trailer.
It might look hip but is very poor practical design

OK
Overall the automatic 3.2 litre diesel version is a good vehicle which I am happy to own and drive. The VR-X has a few comforts that also pleases the family. I had a major problem with the vehicle when on holiday when the hose from the turbo blue off and it was not immediately evident to everyone, including road assist, as to what the problem was. This caused a few other problems and a lot of inconvenience that Mitsubishi really did not care about. Little said for after sale service. The problem seams to be fixed now and the vehicle is a pleasu...Read more
re to drive, although it could be better if they addressed the noise problems. The NS VR-X Pajero with its 3.2 litre diesel engine certainly has enough power and torque that the vehicle is not considered a tortoise in and amongst traffic. Handles hills with ease and the on-rod ride is better than most other 4WD vehicles. The cabin is spacious and the air circulation from the climate controlled AC system works very well. The MATT system makes the car easy to shift into the right drive mode for any road condition. While I do believe that overall the vehicle is sound, the engine and road noise experienced within the cabin need attention, although at times it can be overlooked. The padding to doors where you often rest your arm could be a little thicker. Two things that are a little annoying. One that is a real problem is the position of the rear spare wheel, particularly if you are going to do a bit of towing. The other is the high beam that is of little to no use in outback or unlit areas, particularly on sharp corners.2 comments

If purchased second hand you don't have the 10 year driveline warranty. It is not transferable.
