Bought this 6 years ago and it recently failed on one side. It has always been very slow to toast, with the elements barely glowing, but now the right-hand side has stopped working completely, the lever won't stay down, while the left side still works. Toasting was always quite inconsistent as well, uneven across the bread, and different each time. Not worth the $99 spent on it, a K-mart cheapie would probably have lasted as long, although I guess getting 6 years out of any small appliances is almost a miracle nowadays.

you know you have to usually toast your bread twice to get it just the way you like it, no matter what the dials say, and its never coinciding with the eggs and the bacon, well meet Morphy Richards 44037. Not only does it look a showpiece on your kitchen bench but its totally functional. Sadly I couldn't get the kettle to match

We purchased this toaster just under four years ago. One side decided to die just after 2 years. The other side has lasted until now, however we've had to dispose of it now as it keeps tripping the power. Unfortunately like most appliances today Morphy Richards manufacture products that look premium on the surface, with a premium price tag, but are unfortunately cheaply made and like most things these days, not made to last. We are now using a $15 Kmart toaster that incidentally, toasts better and much quicker.

I bought this toaster and have been using for 12 months at the most. Compared to other toasters including much cheaper option this is by far the most disappointing. I love the fact it is 4 slice and it had the features I was looking for. It also looks really nice. However, it is very slow and inconsistent with the cooking. At the moment I have to have it on 5 and press twice, this can sometimes be perfect or sometimes burn. It's s toaster I can't just put the bread/crumpet in and walk away. I have three kids and this product is definitely not what I thought it would be.

I am on my second accents toaster after the first one kept shorting out, Target replaced no questions asked so great. Now my second one is doing the same on just one side. No point in having a four slice toaster if can only do two slices at a time it's going back tomorrow. Both less than six months old!!!! Would not recommend Morphy Richards and I notice Target isn't suppling them now either.

Makes excellent bread crumbs out of a freshly baked thin slice of bread.

Have just worked out the secret - the slice of bread has to be 30mm thick (2x Toast [thick] slices or 3x Sandwich [thin] slices) so as to fill the entire compartment and viola, toast each time - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside but rather thick.

Useless for anything thinner. Café style slices may fare better.

This toaster is terrible I have had two of them as the first one broke and it was replaced, both of them didnt toast properly the toast pops up before its even toasted. It toasts uneven one side is cooked the other side isn't even browned it is not worth the money, please don't buy this toaster.
