Rubbish
I totally agree with all the negative comments about this toaster. The only positive is the looks. I also had all the writings rub off from the dials. The toast is very unevenly browned. I have noticed that the heating elements heat up differently in each of the 4 compartments. Don't know why but some sides seem to glow brighter than others which explains why the it produces such an uneven toast. Not recommended at all.
The look
Slow and uneven toast. Writings on dial all rubbed off

Looks are not everything
I fel in love with the look of this toaster. I bought the classic white which has the old world feel to it. But thats as far as I can praise it. The toaster is slow, bowns the bread unevenly and all the writings have come off. I can't believe that Morphy Richards can not produce a dial that the writing rubs off after a short period of time. I have had mine for only 6 months and all the dials have no writings on them anymore. You have to guess how brown you want the bread. Even the flipping "Morphy Richards" label has rubbed off. Doesn't give a very good impression of the quality of their products in general. I think I might stay away from Morphy Richards in the future.
The look

Don't buy if your in a hurry in the morning
Should have checked this site before I purchased.
I bought this toaster thinking it would be efficient as it was the most expensive in the store. Wrong !! You will starve to death waiting for this toaster to brown your bread, evenly browned toast but its so slow the bread goes hard before it browns. Never again will I buy this brand of appliance. My previous cheap twenty dollar model was far superior. So beware the most expensive is not always the best.
Nice design looked like a quality toaster.
Very, Very slow to toast,

Slowest Toaster I Have Ever Owned.
This is absolutely the slowest toaster I have ever owned. I honestly wish I'd purchased a $20 Kambrook toaster or something along those lines. I received this as freebie with a Coles fly buys points redemption. If I'd actually paid my hard earned for it I would be absolutely ropeable. Terrible.
It looks pretty!
Sloooooooow!

Very Slow to Toast
We have had this toaster for more than 4 weeks now and every time, no matter how toasted you want your toast, it always seems to want to make the bread stale before it starts to toast your bread. A total waste of money, I am now looking for another 4 slice toaster that can do a proper job. Perhaps the el cheap-o toasters would still do a better job.
The wide toasting slots that secure the bread for toasting

This would be the biggest lemon of toasters in the world. It dries the bread out before it gets to toast. Don't buy one.
Lemon is the understatement. David Jones asked me if I'd like a replacement. My response was: Never again!!! Luckily I was still within warranty period (only just) and got my money back. There seems t... Read more
o be a major problem with even what used to be respectable brands of toasters since the shift to Made In China. I refuse to buy a Made In China toaster now. Went for a Dualit - the Made In England one, not the cheapie Made in China version. Heck of a lot of money (even on sale) to cough up for a toaster but by the time you add up the cost of buying a new Made In China toaster every year, you've paid for it anyway. 5 years warranty AND it has replaceable parts. Instead of throwing it out, just fix it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great toaster - wish the writing didn't wipe off!
We love this toaster so much, we're on our third try and getting one that has symbols which don't wipe off. We've had two cherry red versions, and both have lost their white symbols after less than 6 weeks. Luckily Good Guys exchanged with no argument. Today we exchanged for a plum coloured one, which cost $6 more. With any luck it's a new batch that doesn't have the same issue.
Reliable, compact, easy to clean and good-looking
Symbols on the first two wiped off - quickly.

used and the silly symbols still came off! Ridiculous. I spoke with Morphy Richards and they mentioned they'd had a few calls about this but have not yet investigated whether it's a batch issue or a few one-offs. I'll be returning this for an exchange to another cherry red - and if I have the same issue, I'm going to get a refund. Such a shame as it's a lovely looking toaster. It's not a batch issue oskmey - the same thing has happened with our no. 3 plum-coloured one. And yes, this model is slow to toast, which dries the bread out more than faster models. I have to say af... Read more
ter 18 months use, we won't be getting another when this dies. It's got good points - wide slots, easy controls, looks good and has economical use of space - but they don't make up for the flaws.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Two in six months and so slow
Purchased from target and the first one expired in about eight weeks, kept tripping the breaker - Target replaced straight away (great customer service!) and after about three weeks the second toaster has gone belly up in the same way - back to our old rugged and well used 11 year old Tefal toaster
Very nice looking
Very slow to toast, not made to last and two have expired in short succession

Useless product
I bought the blue 44730 model toaster and it looks good, but way way too slow. you would think in this day and age that home appliances would be very efficient - not so it appears. you would also think that the manufacturer would have tested this model before allowing it into production, and done something about it
Looks only
Way too slow

Extremely Disappointed!,,
Was so excited to be getting a 4 slice toaster. Looks great in red on the bench with the matching kettle. Unfortunately though it takes ages to toast and it is extremely dry. Has taken the pleasure out of eating toast. Big no from me. Luckily had used DJ gift vouchers to purchase it.
Looks good, but that's about it
Doesn't toast well.

Very Very Very Disappointing
I purchased the toasted & kettle in Green originally . This first set was purchased from ebay .
After about a month of use the kettle lost its whistle . I was also very unhappy with the performance of the toaster, At this stage I honestly though I had been duped by the seller & sold a reconditioned set . As I liked the look of both I decided to by another set in purple from Billy Guyatts, only to discover the same problems were still there . Toaster takes way to long to cook the toast this results in extremely dry toast that does not stay wa...Read more

Stylish with a bang!
Have had the toaster for just over week. Brought a red 4 slice toaster and matching kettle went fantastic with my newly renovated kitchen. This morning as usual toaster on and the kettle boiling. With a bit of a fizz the household power went out. Tried the toaster gain with no other appliances and this time it took the power off with a bang. How disappointing, annoying and frustrating. Luckily I had kept my old 18 year old toaster as a back up. I am willing to give it another try when I return this one to Myers, will let you know how it goes.
Options, dual mode or single mode, style, color (red), ability to warm toast and the red matched my new kitchen perfectly.
It blew up after a week of being used once a day!

Good product
I have bought this toaster after reading good review of it.
I have been using this toaster for 6 months and have not had a burned toast. The toasting result is very consistent.
It's also very easy to clean the surface and the crumbs tray.
It has 4 slots but operated in pairs by two separate levers. So, it's very practical when we only need to toast 1 or two slices.
Stylish and good product

Very slow toast
This is the slowest toaster I have ever used. It takes almost 5 mins to averagely toast a piece of regular bread. I am returning it to the shop today. It is the 4 slice accents toaster. Looks good - but takes way too long to toast. I wanted a reliable and efficient toaster. Unfortunately this is not it.
Very slow

So slow it dries the toast to much
While the toaster does toast very evenly, it is sooooo slow to toast that it dries the toast out far to much for my (or my husbands liking).
While i don't particularly care that it is slow to toast(although it drove my husband nuts) - the consequence of the slowness is very very dry toast that is barely browned and is only luke warm.
After 6 months of thinking that maybe we are being oversensative about a toaster I finally returned it to Myer (as it seemed to be getting even more slow if that was possible) and got a Breville Smart toast - a...Read more

Slow AND uneven
The brief to the designers was obviously to look good, don't worry too much about function. This toaster is DESPERATELY SLOW, and to make it even worse, produces uneven toasting. We bought a different one cos we hated this one so much, what a waste of money. Furthermore, what looks great in a picture actually looks quite cheap close up.
The pictures in the online catalog.
So AWFULLY slow, uneven result.

Promised the World - Delivered an Atlas. So slow, So Dried Toast
Looks great, however it does take so long to toast and the result is that the toast is so dry and hard, which makes it virtually impossible to eat. Unfortunately As a result we have to throw it out and get another, a pity as it promised the world but delivered an atlas.
Looks great, wide toast placement
Sooooooo slow and toast was so hard and dry

Ok, not as good as my old toaster
Nice looking, I also bought the matching kettle (both in the red). Takes a long time to toast on the middle setting ( for medium brown toast). Good, even colour on the toast however seems to make the toast a bit firmer than my old toaster. No other complaints for this product
Attractive
Long time to toast

I wanted a toaster and got a door stop instead
Saw this toaster and fell in love with the look of it - great design, made me lick my lips in anticipation of making some toast on the setting I choose too! Bread in Toaster - where's the toast? Oh? I need an egg-timer? Took forever for both sides (we have different settings here). Toast always dry and hard. Well, I learnt to put up with that - it's so good looking. But!! Beware that the toaster has a way of "blowing up". My daughter plugged the toaster in, put the bread in the slots, pushed the lever down and kapow with a huge spark! Al...Read more

This toaster is terrible!! Don't buy it!
This toaster is the worst I've ever used. So painfully slow and it drys the toast out.
For the price of it, it is not good value for money.
While the design of it is nice, and it does eventually toast, you grow old waiting for it!
Save yourself the money, don't buy it!
The design
It's takes 10 minutes to toast!

Bruce in Bendigoasked
Unfortunately my wife did not keep the receipt so I do not expect a refund. I think we purchased over 2 years ago also. Just letting you know that the elements (from new) barely glow even on full heat setting, we bought a cheap Sunbeam straight after which did the job 100%. Very disappointing for what we thought was a good brand.
