Best wood heater going
The Morso 1600 wood heater is the best investment I have made in wood heating. I installed it my home 20 years ago and its still pumping out the heat. It burns clean with little smoke. Put wood in the fire box before going to bed and its still going in the morning

So warm & cosy!
We decided that our old conventional wood heater with its double skinned sides and electric fan was an energy waster and shopped around for a radiant - cast iron wood heater. We also love the look of the cast iron heaters and their capacity to sit a kettle or warm up leftovers in a small pan on top. or to load large logs and a larger cook top, however that model was out of our price range. But now we have the 1600 installed we couldn't be happier. Although the door appears smaller than our old wood heater, there was no need to hanker for the side loading door as our pre-cut 42cm lengths of firewood fit in easily. If we set the fire up with a few good logs before we go to bed, there will still be glowing coals in the morning and the radiant aspect means that the whole living room is still cosy even when the fire may have died out. The instructions advise to light a small fire to begin with - to season the heater, although fail to mention that the resulting fumes are quite strong and last for a few days while the outer coating burns off, however we bought ours while the weather was still quite mild so were able to keep windows open during the seasoning process. The radiant heat, the quaint look of it.
