Not fit for purpose
We were like many people very excited about this release and brought one when we had our first child knowing we were going to have 2 fairly close together and like many people have been pretty disappointed due to the fact that the cocoon is so poorly designed that after 2-3months you can no longer use it as a double pram until both children are older. Our 6 week old has already out grown the cocoon (she's only in the 90th percentile of girls for height) and now we have no where for her to go safely is she is well off the age of being older enou...Read more
gh to sit in the front seat. Mountain Buggies answer was to send us a cot mattress (which they said they have done for many others with the same problem) and remove the cocoon all together. The cot mattress doesn't fit and our 6 week old seem very insecure in the rear area without the cocoon. The cocoon for our first baby was great as we could just lift her out and use that, now Mountain Buggy are telling us to not use it at all or take it in addition. I guess the Mountain Buggy designers have never had kids of used the +one. Don't buy one look for something else and don't expect Mountain Buggy to offer any helpful solutions or support. Looks like they have gone very much downhill since they were brought out by Phil & Teds. the marketing was great poorly designed. not fit for purpose. expensive. Unsafe.Similar opinion? Great pram with some limitations
This has been a great pram for us. Our kids are two years apart. Great as a single pram, with unlimited recline positions and good storage basket.
It's also good as a double but with some limitations. We didn't use it much in newborn/toddler mode as our newborn hated lying down (would have been the same with any pram!). Our baby was small but even she outgrew the cocoon within a couple of months. There is an awkward gap between baby being too big to lie flat and not yet strong enough to sit upright.
Once you're in the "two seat" mode it'...Read more
s good, but we have small kids so not sure if it's roomy enough for larger/longer kids. I'd suggest trying it in person in store and sitting your older kid in it if you have one! Even though the seats are very upright, my kids actually prefer this and both are able to sleep in it if they're tired enough! My eldest likes the "cubby house" feel with the hood over the back seat but I can also open the hood at the back to give her sunlight and a view while still shading bub in the front. Great hood, generous storage basket, inline design compact enough for shops etc, sturdy frame and tyres for all terrain. Difficult stage when baby too big to lie down and not ready to sit upright, may be cramped for taller kids.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Very versatile pram.
We bought this pram for our 4 year old and our new born baby. We have been really pleased with it. We live on a dirt road and the pram gives a smooth ride and tackles the bumpy road really well. The seat at the rear fitted our newborn baby well however he out grew it quickly and now sits in the front. My daughter loves riding in the back and the weight is distributed really well. I have also transported two 4 year olds and it was easy and just as manoeuverable. The sun cover is really large which is great on hot days. The only drawback is that ...Read more
a large baby does not fit in the rear compartment, however doesn't sit comfortably in the front so some extra seating support in the front (ie blankets or head and shoulder supports) are needed. If you are only carrying one at the front, you can use the seat at the rear to carry extra luggage which is fantastic. I would definately buy another one and they are worth the money. You can even buy a scooter to attach at the back which we havent done yet. The versatility to transport two children from any age. The front seat was not comfortable for my baby.

Excellent versatility
We bought this pram when we were expecting our second child and our eldest was 4 years. When our baby outgrew the cocoon (which did not take long) he loved riding in the front and my daughter loves the back! Even with a now 5 year old and a 15 month old, the MB + one still carries the weight perfectly and the manoeuvrability is excellent. This is a tough pram designed to last. We love it.
Takes a lot of weight, easy to clean, great versatility.
Heavy.

Disappointing
Despite loving the MB brand, I am nothing but disappointed in the +one model. No ventilation for baby in the rear compartment and beyond 10 weeks in my instance, the pram can only be used for my 18 month old in the front seat (as bub 2 is too long for the rear). Resorting to my original MB urban jungle so baby can recline but this makes taking two under 19months an impossible task...will be great when both can sit up and use the toddler seats but useless in between.
Compact in boot; sturdy, good steering control
Functionality lacking; poor ventilation

Just ok
My kids are 17 mth apart so both needed to be in a pram. It was good for the first 10 weeks with bub in the back toddler sitting up the front. But since then it has been un usable as a double and that has been 10 mths ! I use it as a single when my eldest is in day care but I ended up using a baby jogger city mini side by side. My son is one year old so still falls asleep in the pram most times when we are out and as a double this has NO RECLiNE which makes it un usable. I have kept it to use maybe in the future but am thinking of selling it.
Seems Comfortable. Easy steer. Good under basket.
NO RECLINE as a double

Good for a limited time - depending on length of baby
This pram is good quaility and sturdy, easy to handle and set up etc, as I have found all mountain buggy prams to be. My boys are 18mo apart and this pram was great when baby was first born because he was snug and safe lying flat in the back section and toddler was sitting happily in the front,
But baby outgrew the cocoon at 2mo and outgrew lying flat in the back without the cocooon by 3.5mo, which means my toddler has to wlak everywhere as baby must be in the pram. Also only 1 child can ever lie down and nap in the pram as neither seat rec...Read more
lines when both sitting up. In hindsight I would have bought a side by side 2 seater. When baby first born, fantastic and easy to use. easy to fold and reasonably light weight. The shade cover is extendeable and fantastic, wheel base not too wide and pram is easy to manouvre. Baby did not fit in rear seat for long. There is no inbetween stage for baby when he's not quite sitting up yet but not wanting to lie down all the time. when baby is lying flat and toddler is in the front seat, baby can get fingers or toes (depending on which way he is facing) jammed in behind the toddlers seat and hurt himself.1 comment

Better suited to 2 toddlers
I bought this pram before the birth of my second child, and initially I loved it but I ended up selling it on eBay and getting a MB Duo. My baby boy had outgrown the carry cot by the time he was 3 months. He could sit in the front seat for short trips but the lack of recline in double mode rendered it unsuitable as it was just far too upright for a 3 mo. Also the newborn area lacks any ventilation and on hot days he couldn't even go in there. I think this pram is better suited to a cold climate. The front seat is also quite shallow, my 2yo's l...Read more
egs were hanging over the foot plate. All in all the pram is ok, but better suited to 2 toddlers. My 2yo loved being in the back seat! Also before the baby was born I used it in single mode a lot and it was great for shopping. You can load heaps of shopping into the infant area. I was sorry that I had to sell the pram because I love the MB brand and I preferred the inline design over side by side but now that I have the Duo it is just far more practical. Inline design, excellent maneuverability, follow the sun canopy No ventilation, carry for too small, front seat too shallow, lack of seat recline in double modeSimilar opinion? Finally, a pram that suits my needs!!
My first pram was a Mountain Buggy Urban. I loved it. I stupidly sold it when bub no. 2 came along and from there it was a long list of disappointing experiences. It seemed that I was never going to find the perfect balance between being able to push it outdoors and fitting my two kids. I have tried the Baby Jogger City Select (great when newborn and using capsule but too heavy to push up hills as soon as they got a bit older), Mountain Buggy Duo (so heavy I couldn't lift it, so wide I couldn't get it through the front door!), the Joovy Caboose...Read more
Ultralight (plastic wheels made it so difficult to push!). I really needed a pram that would allow me to push one child comfortably but have the option for the older one to jump in and out as she liked. This does this!!! I can't believe after 5 prams, I am back to the Mountain Buggy but I have never been happier. I can push my younger daughter (22 months) and when my 3 year old gets tired, a quick conversion and they are both accommodated. Signature MB one handed pushing, ability to have one child or two in it. I would say it is a tad on the small side for my older daughter (3) but she mostly walks so for the time short times when she needs to be in it, its perfect!Similar opinion? A good double pram option
I eagerly awaited the release of this model and its met my most of my expectations for the first three months. Its a double that comfortably squeezes around the shops and handles outdoor jogs. Its well balanced, sturdy and the huge shade hood is fantastic.
My only real issue is that baby fitted snuggly in the rear with toddler up front, but now baby is too long for the cocoon and neither of the seats are designed to recline. I can now envisage the next 6 months being difficult until baby is ready to sit upright all the time. I also find it ...Read more
awkward to put in my sedan with its weight and fold size. Such a great design for newborn + toddler and toddler + toddler to allow both children space (unlike other brands) but lets you down for the stage in between. Slim design that is also a reasonable length, turns/pivots very well, smooth ride over rough terrain, sturdy frame, newborn faces driver, well priced, deep shade hood and adjustable handbar. Lack of seat recline as a double, cocoon fits baby up to 3 months but then seats don't recline enough for 3 month old, reasonable weight, not a compact fold, fold levers often stick and only comes in black.Similar opinion? The mark has been missed again!!!
I was excited to see this buggy be released. I pre-ordered one when orders were first released but almost gave up on it when 4 mths later I still hadn't gotten my pram but I stuck it out and eventually it came into store.
For 2 older toddlers/children this is fantastic - but you need non sleeping toddlers because when in doubles neither seat reclines.
The purpose of buying this buggy was to use it for my two older toddlers and then continue to use it in Newborn/Toddler mode for when the next bub comes along - BUT after owning the buggy fo...Read more
r 4mths it became apparent that it just wasn't going to fit the bill. I have long babies and the cocoon is of average length so its doubtful I would have got 3mths out of it - then what was I going to do? The second seat has no recline options so I would be left with a pram that I was unable to use till bub was able to sit up and I would have to be home for naptimes. Mountain buggy were so close but yet so far on this one.... its a shame. In my opinion it suits 2 older kids that no longer nap or an age gap of 3+ years where you only need the double setup for a short time and once bub is out of the cocoon you can convert it back to a single so that you have the use of the full recline function and your older child can walk or maybe use the freerider attached to the back1 comment

Haven't seen anything like this wow
mt buggy +one is the pram to be seen with if you have had your children close together it weighs 13.5kg it holds up to 20kgs and both your children are on the same level so you dont have one child that is always looking out the sides from the back of the pram it will take you right thru till your child is 6yrs old you can use it as a one seater or a two seater it has a light weight aluminum frame and swivel wheels all the functions you would have in a single three wheeler but with the extra bonus of being able to carry both your children and so easy to fold adjustable handle and a bottle holder in the seat fabric for mums water bottle
versatility
only comes in one colour (black)

I have a very tall 2 1/2 year old and 6 month old and thinking of purchasing mountain buggy plus one. I have found double prams in the past hard to push, heavy and un usable. The reviews seem good and I want to attach a free rider for my toddler. Are there any negatives to this and is this best option?

Hi Kate,
The one thing I love about the MB +1 is its maneuverability. The swivel wheel at the front make it a breeze to negotiate in shopping centers etc. I also go jogging with the pram and I can negotiate our busy seafront promenade using one hand while running.
I am aware that MB have released a new MB +1...apparently the front footrest is adjustable so that would help if your younger child is tall.
My boy will be 3 yrs old in Jan and he sits in the back comfortably, he is 98 cm....
I don't know what the changes have been made ( if any) to the back section of the new MB. I would suggest trying to check one out if it was handy for you.
Good luck!
Hi Kate,
Apologies, there was a typo in my response. My boy is 94 cms.
Also, I don't have a free rider so I can't comment on this.
Cheers
I find it very cramped for my 3 year old and he's small. But my youngest is now one and could possibly go in the back now. I love the size of the pram and the way it manoeuvres, but now my son is 3 he prefers to walk most of the time. I wish I had my swift again.

Hi I'm trying to decide what pram to buy, I have the urban jungle and love it but bubs number two is due end of nov and my first will be 4 end of dec he won't be in the pram much but we are often out so Id like the option of being able to put him in. Any thoughts on the plus 1 for a 4yr old and new born? Keeping in mind it's going to be summer time aswell

Hiya, I think it will be ok while the baby is under 6 months, then you will find the baby is too big and gets too hot for the cocoon and although the rear seat can lie down, they constantly kick at the toddler seat in the front, but by this time your 4 yr old may no longer want to ride in the pram. Ever thought of just getting a front carrier and keeping your existing pram for the older one?
cheers
Hi,
Obviously when your new baby arrives the little one would go in the back and your boy in the front seat. My boy is 2 and a half and had his knees bent fully in the front seat as the footrest is not adjustable. He now sits in the backseat and is fairly snug....my point being that my son is half the age of your boy so I would be concerned about space. If there is anyway you can physically check out the pram with your child in all configurations I would highly recommend it.
Good luck! Babs
I don't think it will be good for a 4 year old. It's ok when big boy is in the front but when bubba has to migrate to the front which is way too early because they're too small and you have to carry them in a sling and push the pram for 3 months. I have a 2.5 yr old and it's squishy with no leg room and it's way too hot for bubba in the back.

Are you meant to use the main seat positioning bar in two toddler mode or should i just put the two clips (that you'd use to clip the main seat onto the positioning bar) around the frame at the sides? I have noticed that without the positioning bar there is much more recline for the front passenger if I adjust the clips all way out and thread them around the frame but is this ok to do?
1 answer
Totally agree with your options and works great like that four two toddler mode. The bar was best at the end of the baby mode when they were getting long.
