Survived 3 kids and a lot of walking since 2012
Bought the mountain buggy in 2012 for the first child. The only additional attachment we took was the rain cover. and carried the all three children in it from the time they were born.
Over that time it's been the only pram and has been used in a variety of terrains including the typical walking tracks with gravel but a fairly smooth track through to some quite rough tracks with lots of rocks and steps that the pram needed to be pushed over. Its also been through some snow.
All in all the pram has survived. The whole time the adjustabl...Read more
e part of the handle bars felt kind of flimsy but did not break even with a substantial amount of force applied (Rocky surfaces). The tyres and tubes had to be replaced about 3 times. They just wore out the tyres are not quite as long lasting as say bike tyres, replacement was easy enough though. One of the wheels bearings wore out after 5 years probably due to mud getting in, but for $20 including delivery we could order replacement bearings for all 3 wheels from mountain buggy. The main complaint is that some of the buttons that hold the seat to the frame kept popping open as the kids got bigger. I could just order the replacement section but I suspect it will last long enough that i'll no longer need a pram

Great pram, but can be heavy and awkward
Love my Mountain Buggy, so easy to maneuver and great for all types of terrain and also for the light jog (when baby is old enough). Love the versatility of having the various attachments for bassinet, capsule, +3 months seat that has a full recline. It's a lifelong pram. And now we have a skateboard attachment for our toddler and back to the bassinet for our newborn. It's only downside, like most prams, it can be awkward to fit into a car. It folds nicely and doesn't take up a lot of room in the car, but the length can be problematic if the boot opening isn't wide enough. Like any pram purchase, take your car and try it out before buying.

Best pram/stroller ever
Mountain buggy urban jungle 2013 version is far better than new models. I have tried both and older models much better quality and durability.
It manouvers like a dream with one hand. I owned few different prams but this one is a winner. Even my son prefers this one over other ones.
It is on heavier side but so stable and easy to push and very comfortable for my boy.

A great running pram!
I love my mountain buggy! Nearly 3.5 years on I am still using it, in fact, I have used it almost every day since my daughter was born. It is perfect for walks and runs and very easy to manoeuvre - I can run with my daughter (15kg) in the pram and dog at my side without any issues.
I would get this pram if you're a regular walker or runner, I wouldn't get it if you're just planning on going to the shops.
We have had to replace tubes twice but it was cheap and easy to do- Kmart sell the tubes.
The only downside is the shade- it doesn't come down far. I use an extra mountain buggy cover to shade my daughter and protect from mosquitoes.

Excellent pram but with some unhappy errors.
Upgraded from the older Urban model to the Urban Jungle 2012, I really love this pram it's simple and easy to use, great follow the sun canopy with flip out visor, great style I do like the style of pram better to Phil & Teds, I find the wheels are much better, very sturdy pram. However, I do not like the new harness compared to the older Urban models, they don't stay tightened i'm constantly having to keep readjusting them. It's more heavier then the older Urban models, which makes it hard especially with having tennis elbow, not so easy to li...Read more
ft and with my tiny car boot I have to wedge it in, so not so fun :(. I find this pram very simple easy to fold, but unfolding can become a non easy task at times. The only other thing that i'm annoyed about is 6 months after purchasing, the writing label ' Mountain Buggy ' on the front silver plate came off just from being wiped with a damp cloth with only water on !!!!!!!!!!!!! However MB replaced this due to it being under warrenty, but again the replacement plate the words are slowly coming off again from water drips and childs feet rubbing against the ink, not good enough!. Also one day juice was spilt in the carry basket so had to wash it, on a gentle wash using gentle wash powder, the wording has also come off from the side of the basket!!!!!!!! So im really unhappy about the ink they use for this, the cost of the pram it should be permanent. I know this is only cosmetic fuss but when you spend that much on a pram you expect it to last a few years before something like that happens.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Mountain buggy has not kept up with other brands in innovation
I've had my New Zealand made (2009) Urban Jungle for two years. I bought it new at the end of 2011. I have loved this pram and used it a lot but now after two years and purchasing a double pram I feel that Mountain Buggy is missing a lot. The NZ models all have horrid lumps on the side of the tyres which bang into everything and a very small hood. These two features have been upgraded in later models but the hood is still rather small in comparison to other brands. The two things that I know really hate about this pram are the air filled tyres ...Read more
and the terrible fold. I have just had a major tyre blow out last night which I'm sure will cost a fortune to replace. I have used this pram a lot but I really think the lifetime on the tyres should be greater. The fold of this pram is terrible. It is massive when folded down and difficult to get in and out of the car. I find my double side by side easier to get in and out of the car. I also bought a umbrella stroller eighteen months ago as this pram is terrible to take shopping. A great walking pram especially on uneven surfaces. A great walking pram in hilly areas and on sand, the curb pop is great. NZ models have terrible hoods and lumps on wheels that stick out and bump into things. All models have a terrible fold and a small hood.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Harness straps way too big!
I purchased a MB Urban Jungle pram in March 2013. The shoulder harnesses are massive and cannot be adjusted enough to secure my daughter in the pram. A couple of times when I was running with the pram my daughter was very close to falling out as she could climb out of the harness- that’s how big the straps were! It would probably be another year at least before the straps would fit her. I started using the pram with the seat in an upright position when my daughter was 7 months old and that’s when I noticed the problem. I stopped using my pra...Read more
m as it was too dangerous and would only be a matter of time before my daughter fell out. I returned my pram to where I purchased it from (Pram Warehouse, Stafford, QLD) hoping they could assist with the issue. A couple of staff looked at the straps and I was advised by one staff member that the straps are probably the wrong size because the prams are now made in China! The other staff member told me to contact MB to sort it out. I contacted MB and sent photos. MB advised me that the reason for the large straps is because ‘all children come in different sizes and shapes so we want to make sure the harness will fit an older child in the winter with a bulky jacket on’. What a ludicrous response! If this is the case MB should not be selling this pram as being suitable for newborn babies, and also they should not be selling their pram in Australia as very few babies get around wearing big bulky jackets, especially not in Queensland. As you can imagine I was not happy with the response I received. MB offered to send my some clips to attach to the waist straps which would tighten the shoulder straps, but this involved undoing stitching on the pram. I didn’t feel comfortable modifying the pram and believed that this should be the responsibility of MB, not the customer. I called MB and told them that I wasn’t prepared to modify the pram in case I made it more unsafe, or in case the clips didn’t fix the problem. MB was not prepared to send me a new hammock until I tried the clips first, and advised that if I wasn’t happy with the clip solution they could send me a new hammock. I agreed to do this. While unpicking the stitching to attach the clips one of the straps tore so I could not attach the clip. I contacted MB who were happy to send me a new hammock, free of charge as my pram was still under warranty. I am happy with the new hammock I received. The straps are fully adjustable and I even notice that the seat can be placed in a more upright position which is more comfortable for my daughter. Apart from the ludicrous reason I received from MB for the straps being so big, I was happy with the customer service I received. So if you are looking at buying a MB pram, make sure you check the straps (maybe try strapping in a large doll) to ensure they will tighten far enough to keep you child safe. Good running pram, looks good Harness straps don't tighten enough to keep child safe, brake is difficult to use if wearing sandals/thongsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

2 stars for manouver 4 stars outdoor pram, Not suitable for new borns in my opinion
Pram was chosen by husband for 1st new born. In my opinion it is not suitable for newborns, we bought the evo urban jungle.
Issues: Heavy frame, can be hard to fold sometimes, the front part of the metal frame scratches the car boot all the time (a brand new car), very long and pointy difficult to manouver in small spaces such as restaurants, Drs office and shops.
Hate the straps at the back to adjust the angle of the seat it makes it feel more like a hammock. IT is not a basinet or a seat its somewhere in between.
My son would try to jump...Read more

Great all rounder
A beautiful pram from birth upwards. Looks great, moves great but definitely has it's flaws. Its quite large and if I had to chose again I would go the smaller model down from the Urban as this one is quite heavy and takes up a lot of space in the boot (we have a CRV!!). Great for walking-road or bush. Replacement tires and fitting were expensive at $25 each.We had to replace the 2 rear tires after only 2 years.
Easy to manouver, reliable, fully reclines, shade cover can be moved forward or back and the gap easily covered with a blanket/sarong

What a great pram!
We initially bought a Silver Cross Surf; after using it only a couple of times with our newborn, we came to the quick conclusion that it wasn't for us and that a 3 wheeler us much more suited to our needs. After a bit of research, we decided on the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle - and what a choice! I don't regret our decision in the slightest! We used it from when our son was only 2 weeks old and it has been perfect as is with no bassinet attachment needed. It is so durable, manouvers so well around and over anything, folds and unfolds like a bre...Read more
eze, looks great, oh I could go on and on! It has great size wheels and we do lots of rocky walking with it and have never had a problem. It was well worth the $500 or so that we paid for it and when we eventually have another baby I definitely will be purchasing a Mountain Buggy Duo. Overall I would recommend it to everyone! SO easy to fold and unfold, reliable, easy to manouvere, good size basket, durable, nice big tyres, looks great. The break could have been designed better - its annoying to take off when you're wearing thongs. The sitting up position is probably a little too reclined still for when bubs is a toddler.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great for lots of walking, only minor issues
The urban jungle manouevers& 'drives' really well, and is great for long walks. It's tyres are quite cushioned for bumpy footpaths. We did a lot of research before purchasing it, and it we're happy we picked this one. It is easy to recline to the sleeping position, and we used the attachment so that the Safe n Sound Unity Capsule attached to it, instead of the bassinet. This meant that transferring our baby from the car to the pram was so easy, no need to move or wake them up which was a huge advantage for us.
Good tyres; drives really well; gr...Read more

would be awesome with just a few little changes
We have used this pram from newborn stage with the carrycot and on the whole it's been great. Really easy to steer, great for walking (I do a lot of this), looks great, really good height for tall people etc. i deliberated for ages re the 'right' pram and have for the most part been really happy with this. i wish it had a larger sun shade, larger shopping basket underneath and a mesh panel at the back for airflow like the City Jogger has as it can get hot inside. these are such simple things that would elevate the UJ to being awesome
Height, inflateable wheels, steering, looks great
Small shopping basket, small sun shade, can be hot

Great pram, very versatile.
We've used this pram since day 1, together with the Urban Jungle bassinet, our little one was really comfortable. It's a great pram that will hold your child until they are 35 kg, I don't believe there are many prams that have such long life!
It's a bit on the heavy side, specially when loading onto the boot, and you'll need a slightly larger boot.
The brakes are a bit hard to operate, but it's very easy to maneuver and looks good.
The carry bag underneath the pram is wonderful, plenty of space to carry your shopping and the big wheels are ...Read more

Drives well but some significant problems that can't be overlooked
It pains me to only award this stroller three stars as when it's actually working it is an absolute dream - easy to steer and manoeuvre, get up and down gutters, tilt forward and back etc. Our little one also seems really happy in it almost all the time.
However, in the first 12 months of owning it, it was out of action twice for a total of about 5 weeks (almost 10 per cent of the time) - first for faulty brakes that didn't release without some serious manhandling, and then, worse, when the moulded plastic wheel rims cracked and snapped sudd...Read more
enly. We only use the stroller on paths and parks, but it seemed to be a problem with the quality of the plastic - each wheel failed along the moulded joint. Mountain Buggy were really good with replacing the wheels and fixing the brakes, but it did mean we didn't have the stroller for quite a while. We've also had LOTS of flat tyres. We don't go off-road at all really, and it's not glass or metal piercing the inners - most of the time it's just sharp grass seeds/thorns - only a couple of grades up from a normal bindii. The tyres are heaps better than solid wheels for ride comfort but it seems the rubber just isn't thick enough to stop even pretty harmless things you'd normally find on a path or park from giving you a flat. These punctures don't deflate the tyre quickly, so you always have time to get home, but then you go to use it again and discover one of the tyres is dead. It would be good if the stroller could be adjusted to a more upright position - now our son is older he wants to sit up but it's fixed in a fairly steep recline. And final concern with it is that the exposed metal parts on the bottom of the pram at the rear are liable to scrape and scratch the crud out of your car boot plastic if you store it in there and it moves around a bit in transit. Ours is trashed as a result. We have used other strollers (while ours was getting fixed) and without a doubt the Urban Jungle drives the best by a country mile. But the maintenance issues need to be addressed in quality control. Drive quality, easy of steering - one handed steering is a breeze Tyre rubber too thin and liable to puncture, Quality control of some parts, exposed metal parts scratch car bootSimilar opinion? Fantastic with carrycot. Big problems adjusting seat harness
I have had my UJ for 3 months now and been using it with the carrycot. LOVED IT! I have recommended it to everyone, and raved about its ease of use and stability on/off road. Today I got out the fabric seat as my 14 week old is outgrowing the carrycot and I have to say it has the WORST seat harness system ever. It has taken me 2 hours to remove the harness to put a lambswool liner in, not to mention the bruises I have on my arm where you have to shove your arm up inside the seat to remove the buckles. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE time consuming design ...Read more
and sadly it has changed my opinion of this buggy. Seat adjustment should really be quick easy and pain free please! Even though technically you should only have to adjust the harness 3 times (there are 3 shoulder levels) you have to thread the harness in/out of any liners or sleeping bags you might use. Check out the harness use mums&dads before purchasing your buggy of choice - something I never even thought of! Such a shame as love the buggy, but you really need all aspects of design to be easy and efficient, not just its road performance. Carrycot, stability, ease of 'push' even when loaded with baby and shopping Expensive, really impractical and difficult harness adjustmentSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great pram but could do with a few modifications
I did a lot of research on this site before buying my pram as it was a big buy. I ended up getting it from Pram Wharehouse for a bargain $549. It didnt come with the sun or rain cover but this was a minor. I wanted it as I knew i'd be doing a lot of walking and running with my daughter and even though it is big and bulky, had always intended on buying another stroller for the car/shopping trips and travelling.

be lugged around. I love that is is so light to manouever and in the event I do take it to the mall - it easily fits through all aisles and is so easy and light to push I can do it with one finger. My daughter is extremely long and this pram has so much room for her long legs. She loves it! Its very comfortable for her and is nice and dark when she is asleep in the blaring sun. I havent had any problems with the tyres as some other people have said but i've only had it for nearly 5 mths but its already done some serious mileage. Light and easy to manoeveour, slim wheel base to get around shops, lie flat design, lots of room under neath the seat, looks great. love the handle positioning. Its made of very thick black fabric (the black one obviously) and in the QLD summer when my baby was born, it was so hot in there for her to sleep! she'd be wearing nothing but a nappy and singlet and when i got her out if she was lying flat which she was in the early days as she was too little to sit up - she would come out drenched in sweat! They need to make the back flap opening part like the City Jogger and have a mesh part that can be covered in rain/colder weather to let air in and around the babies head as its soooooo hot in there!Similar opinion? Nice stroller, but
I owned this stroller for more than a year and mostly happy with it. I did a research before committing to by this model. Yes, it is a bit on the heavy side, as it was said by other reviewers. But it is only felt when you load it in the boot of your car. It is very easy to manoeuvre and navigate around the corners. We also have a bassinet and used it right from the birth to approximately 18 month. Then, a second baby arrived and we have bought a double stroller of a different brand.
On the downside I would like to point to these factors:

Easy to push, great for exercising and manoeuvring around the shopping centre
We got our mountain buggy urban jungle in flint for our newborn in April 2011. We also purchased the carry cot and loved using it up until our son was just over 3 months old, when we found his level of alertness required him facing outward. We continued to use the carry cot as a portable sleeper (for day sleeps when we were visiting friends) until he outgrew it around 6.5 months old (then we switched to taking the porta cot!). Good off road pram
We bought this pram as our second, we had an Emaljunga first but it was so heavy for me to lift into the car :(
I absolutely love the MB for it's versatility, (we run with it, have been bushwalking with it, have had many trips to the beach, farm, camping, have packed in as air freight etc)
The little guy seems comfortable enough in it, it's light, easy to push, easy to pack up and put in the boot at the end of our adventures.
It takes up a lot of space, but we have a large car so that is not a problem for us.

ably the quality of the parts used. Within 2 months the spring that retains the cover for the fold latch broke, and as we live pretty much in the middle of no-where, it wasn't really worth sending it for repair as we would be without it for soooooo long. The bearings in the rear wheels seem a bit dodgy, we clean it after every beach trip and bush walk but they don't seem to be lasting very well, and the front wheel rubs on it's fork/holder if it gets even half the recommended PSI (inflation). That said, these three things are not major problems, and we manage to get around them. Light, easy to use, comfy and versatile. I have one of the newer model Urban jungles which I love, but have worn through two rear tyres in 6 months! very expensive at $25 each. not sure if there is a known issue with the wheel alignment which may cause this to happen???
