Hi Rick I just use the steel it came with, but I only sharpen every few months. They stay very sharp as long as u use them for their intended purpose. Sharpening to often really isn't good for the knives, I also have mine professionally sharpened once a year. I have had this knives 8 years now and still going very strong.

I have had my 9pc set for a number of years. Recently the handles have separated, is this covered under warranty or do you any suggestion on how to rejoin them?

While cutting a piece of cheese one of my Mundial knife blades
broke in two. Not happy. Anyone else have this happen?

Never happened to me. forged high carbon steel knives dont usually brake in half if ever, stamped knives are more likely to brake.

That is not an answer gif. i am not aware of what mundial makes the knives from, just wondered if anyone else had this happen to them. Obviously it is not a very reputable company or I should have been able to contact the maker direct. As I have been unable to do that I thought I would see if anyone had had the same thing happen to them.

Hi Kaye, after having my knives for over 10 years a couple of them had damaged handles. You need to contact the distributor for Mundial who are very obliging in replacing the knives.I dont recall the name of the distributor but if you trawl through these comments I think it is there or Google it perhaps.I hope this helps.

OK to put in dishwasher?

You can put them in a dishwasher but they do make knives blunt (any knives), so to avoid having to sharpen all the time we just rinse and wipe them, or handwash.

No I wouldn't. The water temperature is too high and the chemicals are also quite harsh which can damage the knives due to the carbon content in the steel. Hand washing in the sink is the best way.

no they are not suitable for dishwashers as they can get watermarked and it states not to do this..however I have a dishwasher and they are very easy to clean with detergent and scourer on handle under hot water ..takes only seconds :)
