excellent knives and after customer service
I bought my knives about 4 years ago and must say they are fantastic and suit all my kitchen needs ..I have had to return two over this time due to handle snapping at blade and handle join HOWEVER on both occasions I was issued with a new knife, firstly from nsw store of purchase and then after moving interstate through a simple call to company and then them sending replacement through registered post within a week of me sending broken knife back, with no receipt necessary. Sharpening was an issue till I bought a simple sharp edge knife shar...Read more
pener from a supermarket for $10 and now my knives are razor sharp again. I love the weight of handles and use these every day and find them very easy to slice dice chop and finely shred with. the block is a great way to store them and I have been careful to always handwash not use dishwasher as manufacturers instructions state. I expect a lifetime of use from these and know in the event of any issues ...the lifetime guarantee will continue to protect me Weight, size options including serving fork and scissors, after sale service n guarantee, block mount, versatility, proffessional feel and look Handles seem to have a weakness hence 2 breaking, tip of small knife has snapped a bit but makes no diff to use3 comments

I wish I paid $199
We bought out knives when they were still over $400 (so 8 or 9 years ago) and have given them an absolute hiding. The blades are still perfect with no nicks or damage. The only disadvantage is my lack of skill when it comes to sharpening them and then keeping the edges honed. So with a decent sharpener and a bit of care, these knives will last a long time.
Quality, long life and expected life span
I bought them before the price dropped

my wife was cleaning the dishes when she accedentley dropped the large nife on the floor and it snaped at the handle we paid $199 for the block set

f poor workmanship. Rather the opposite. The harder they make the steel in the blade the more brittle it will become. So you can have a soft knife that won't break when dropped, (but won't take, or hold a keen edge either), or a harder blade that takes a keen edge and keeps it that way for a long time, but may break if dropped. These are high quality knives and need to treated that way. They are made to give the best results for cutting food in the kitchen, rather being made to withstand being dropped.Similar opinion? Love these knives I've had them for 8 years
We've had our Mundial knives for 8 years. We've broken tips of 4 of them and each time I send them in and the life time warranty is honoured. I get a brand new replacement knife.
They are easy to sharpen and care for.
reliable and great follow up customer service

This was my first "real" knife set, having previously only had hand me downs. I have had them for almost 5 years and have never had any issues with them. They are quite soft, but this makes them easy to sharpen. They feel nice when they are used - not to heavy or light. Good selection of knives in the block I own - I use everything all the time. Scissors are awesome for cutting up chicken and come apart easily making it really easy to clean them. Overall I love them and wonder how I did without! :)
Nice to use, set has everything you need.

OK
Obvious fault in the design of this one particular knife in the Bonza 9 piec knife block. Given the reputation quite dissapointing!
Good for a couple of months.
My large chefs knife just broke into two pieces. Under the impression it was forged steel and one peice not two

Not durable in light domestic use, could actually be dangerous if small chip from blade edge was ingested. My advice: "Don't purchase"
looks like a real knife, good for sharpening practice
Edge chips very easily in normal use which is appalling. needs constant resharpening and honing. had to pick a tiny fragment of the blade out of food I was preparing (pastry!)

I bought my knife set, when i was an apprentice, which was almost 12 years ago, and i still have and love them. I love the feel of them, the handle suits me much better that others, such as global. And i prefer a slightly heabvy knife, with a more solid blade. I do sharpen them regularly, on a steel, and every few months (if needed) on a stone. They are as good now, as they were when i bought them, the only difference with them now, is that are much cheaper, than when i bought them. The only knife i have to replace, is the bread knife, as these can not be sharpened, well not properly. Overall, Fantastic knives
Good solid knife

overall I recommend the knife set for anyone who knows what they want and know how to take care of what they buy...
I haven't had any problems with the knives or the shears.
a good basic set of knives. learn how to use them properly and how to sharpen properly and take care of them and they should give you years of use.
good cheap knife set, by cheap I mean that $145 in comparison to $1000.00 for wusthof trident...
I got the bonza set as a secondary set for my flatmate, my first set is a henkels set...
this set is ok.
they are good knifes for the price.

Great starter ser
Mundial Bonza Block is a fantastic starter set, or for anyone really! I really like that there are a range of knife sizes to suit any need. The block is a solid classic shape and makes a very attractive addition to your benchtop. I find the knives to be well weighted and easy to hold. The handles aren't moulded to a hand like some others, they are a straight handle which suits me fine. The Mundial kitchen shears are included in this set which can run at $60 separately. They are really handy for cutting chicken etc and come apart for cleani...Read more
ng. The blades themselves are nicely weighted and good quality. The set comes with a sharpening steel, but unless you know how to use it properly you can do more harm than good. I have found that using a ceramic sharpener occasionally keeps these knives really sharp. Overall these are a great set of quality knives that are at the entry level to the professional knife market. Good selection of sizes, well weighted, great quality and price Nothing reallySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I have had this knife block set for five years now, and although I have a full set of Titanium knives (flimsy to use) aswell as an old Wiltshire knife block set (cheap handles), I can honestly say this knife set is simply the best! I will never get rid of these knives and when sharpened correctly (using the sharpener steel/rod included in set)they are extremely sharp. It was my husband's idea to purchase this particular knife set as he had heard they are great and although I thought it was an expensive set originally, I have certainly changed m...Read more
y mind now. They are worth their weight in gold and I would recommend to anyone. I keep them up high in my kitchen for safety reasons, but if you wanted a nice looking kitchen display then these are just great to put on your benchtop next to your oven. The range of sizes in this knife set is just perfect also as I use the smallest for chopping tomatoes and cucumber etc.. and the 2nd sized knife for hard boiled eggs, soft (larger size) vegetables like capsicums etc and fruits and the 3rd size I use for slicing meats like chicken breast (great 4 thin snitzel slices) and any larger (hard vegetables) like pumpkin etc.. and the very large knife is just perfect (with the fork) for slicing up roast meat etc.. The sharpener is great and very easy to use for sharp knives everytime. This set still looks as new as the day we bought it. The blades are not wearing at all and the handles are all still very strong. I know this set will be with us for life (atleast another 40odd years if we can help it) The set looks great..nice wooden block with great 'ergonimic' knife handlesSimilar opinion? really good set of knives! i bought this set as my parents have had it for 15+ years and havent been dissapointed. they are a really good weight and have a good range of sizes included in the block. the scissors are fantastic and come apart making them really easy to clean. i use them for sutting herbs, chicken, bones, flowers etc- all with no problems at all. given the price and how long my parents set has lasted i just had to buy them, nothing worse than cutting with a blunt knife- a problem i have never had with this set.
weighted well, fantastic versitile scissors, great value for money

OK
I have been using these knives for 14 months at home and have been generally happy with them. The knife set we have has been very good, but the blade snapped from the chef's knife after it was dropped. I accept that dropping it in the first place is not the most ideal thing to do, but it doesn't seem unreasonable that it should be able to withstand common home kitchen mishaps. That being said, they are reasonably priced for their general quality.
Sturdy, appropriate sizes, honing steel easy to use
Large chef's knife broke after 14 months of domestic usage

Good
if you don't mind regular sharpening mundial generally offer great value for money, and this knife block has a great range of knives.
Mundial are a really good quality knife and excellent value if you don't want to spend mega oodles.
You do have to commit to sharpening the knives regularly, they loose their edge (which is extremely sharp after a recent sharpening) quicker then some other knives i've used.

Good
Mundials are a good value entry level knive, as they are really good value eg a 20cm chefs knive is around $60. Like any knife it needs sharpening so either do it yourself or get a pro to do it.
The scissors are awesome and so well designed as the come apart so they can be washed properly.
Knives are solidly built with reasonable edge retention.
Cheap and great banfg for buck.
I have a couple of the future series knives and the grip is a little slippery sometimes but this is very minor.
Can't compete with Japanese knifes as far as razor sharpness.

Overall very good value for money. An excellent starter set of knives, then once you know which type of knife suits you, you are able to seek a more expensive brand.
- Good price (approx $200)
- Good selection of knives, carving fork, scissors
- Nice looking knives
- Able to be sharpened
- Long wearing - we received ours for a wedding present 12 years ago and they are still going strong
- Can't be washed in the dishwasher, but that is the same for all good knives

This whole block looks very nice sitting in my kitchen! The knives are easy to hold and I don't need to sharpen them very often. I would HIGHLY reccommend this to everyone, mine has lasted me forever, and I haven't even lost a knife yet, which is very uncommon for me!!
It comes with everything! I've had mine for a few years, it's stiff in perfect condition except for a scuff here and there. The knives don't go blunt easily.
My scissors didn't work well, I'm not sure if it's a dud or a one off.

Good
These are really nice looking knives, and there is a good overall selection in the block. The knife sharpener is easy to use. The scissors can be a bit of a pain, and tend to come apart quite easily now, after we have had them for about 5 years. I was hoping they would last a bit lnoger.
These knives look great sitting on the bench, and having them in a block means they are easily accessible all the time. They are also out of reach of the kids in my house!
We broke one of the blades, and it was really difficult trying to get a contact for Mundial. We tried different homewares stores, and ended up searching the net. It is a difficult website to find.

I bought the 9 pce Bonza set pictured here when it was on sale at Myer for $139 (RRP is $200). This is my first set of 'real' knives. I've been putting up with crappy supermarket Wiltshire knives for so long but after becoming more interested in cooking i decided i should get some decent knives. These are absolutely wonderful to use. I'm just a home cook so i didn't need anything too fancy and i could not justify a set of Wusthof which are about $800!
Good value for money. The Bonza set has a selection of the most common knives you would need.

another tip is always store knives in block with blades up as this maintains sharpness also
