RIP
Initially I considered this a great purchase.
Set and forget - get home and your house has been vacuumed.
Within approx 6 months of purchase things took a turn for the worse.
• It would give off random alerts (talking) in the middle of the night- creepy when living alone.
• Suction wasn't as efficient- even with regular cleaning and replacing the sweeper parts.
And in its final days it stopped recognising it's charging station, when manually placed on it wouldn't charge.
Expensive experience. RIP Genie.

WARNING - Do Not Purchase
Products worked amazing for one month. Cleaned the floor and even mopped. However, the robot stopped working after one month, and this seems to be too frequent a theme in consumer reviews. I contacted the manufacturer, on multiple occasions... not one single response. I have since googled this company and found out that no one ever gets in contact with them. Here is the link to the User Guide who shows them as a company called "b direct" - https://assets.kogan.com/files/usermanuals/BDT-0101415a.pdf. If you type in b direct on product review, you will find not one happy customer. Do not waste your money.

WE have a clean,4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, carpet and tiles all on one level. No pets, no kids and the wife has short hair. Battery life was about 70 minutes on the carpet/tiled area. It does not map, so it wanders about in an area, trying to keep to a grid patten and consequently misses a bit. Bumps around a bit, sometimes the sensor stops the bumping. It does not track in a dead straight line, and when it turns at the end of a run, the turns are maybe 100 degrees instead of 90. So its track is more like a narrow figure 8. It will travel 4...Read more
meters in one direction before turning, it won't go from wall to wall in a large area. If you lock it in a bedroom for 30 minutes, it will get the job done. Cliff sensor works well. Dustbin and filter needed to be emptied after each outing, so obviously it finds stuff even though floors look clean. With the nappy on,(mopping mode), Battery lasts over 3 hours. It wipes the tiles, does not mop. A coffee spot will need 5 passes to clean up. Again just wanders around in same figure 8 patten. Needs more water after 2 hours. Could not use the virtual wall as the vac absolutely hated to go anywhere near it, must have a really wide beam. Not user friendly. Battery also falls out if you are not careful. Even when you are careful they fall out. Not sure how long the flimsy plastic clip on the dustbin will last, if this breaks its game over. Replacement filters could be a worry, there's no phone number supplied in the ordinary booklet. Remote works if you are within 2 meters. Forget programming it. After doing this 3 times, I realised that the memory is wiped if it can't find the base and goes dead in the water. So I just put it in the desired area, pressed start and went shopping. Any way, the front wheel broke off at the 6 week mark, took it back to the nice retailer(in a different state) and got a full refund.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love the mygenie robot vacuum!
This robot is so helpful, it vacuums and mops well. I tested by vacuuming with my dyson after it had finished and the dyson picked up an extra half a fingernail of fluff, so nearly comparable. It is cute to own too as it has it’s own logic as it works its way around the room. I use the fast mopping action for a better clean and it works well. It’s been so good to have ‘someone’ else doing the vacuuming and mopping! It’s quieter than the dyson, and much cuter :D

Only 3 months old if that went haywire after beginning to playup gradually getting worse
Works good for the first 3 months i was surprised How it managed to find so much fluff (not fart either) on the 2nd outing.
Got game and used the wash function did a good job but there are places it will miss but no big deal. Back to regular vacuuming mode.
Threw an electronic tantrum took an effort to charge then starting doing circles like a native american dancing, a bee or was under the influence.
Either way its going back for a refund or exchange as it's less tha 3 months old! Not a happy camper

Life changing
I love my new My Genie ZX1000. So far it has lived up to expectations vacuuming and mopping. It has found its docking base to recharge. I haven't worked out how to turn the UV light on, it doesn't seem to tell you in the instructions but otherwise I've managed to use all functions. I'd recommend picking up mats with thick piles, it gets onto them but struggles but is a whizz on my wood floors. Large dustbin coped with my whole house and all my cats fur and enough suction to suck up larger garbage items.

Can not recommend
For the first time use we left it running in the bedroom (carpet) & en-suite (tiles). When we returned 2 hours later, it had successfully covered the entire area & returned to the charger. It took more than 4 hours to re-charge fully & we moved it to the kitchen (tiles) & entry hall (tiles with a carpet runner).
After starting again, it ran for less than 4 minutes before returning to the charger for almost 3 hours. Eventually, it started again & ran for 40 minutes though it covered some tiles multiple times & missed others completely. Desp...Read more
ite trying 4 new batteries, the 'wall' would not operate, so we had to block the area to be cleaned with furniture. After 40 minutes, I tried pressing the 'Home' button on the remote but the vacuum could not find the charger &, eventually, I had to turn it off & carry it back to be re-charged It's lightweight & relatively quiet in operation but I can't think of too many other positive aspects. I will be returning it to the Seller without bothering to try the floor washing process.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Robotic vacuum cleaner
I purchased this vacuum cleaner due to my disability and being unable to lug around a normal vacuum cleaner. I thought the robot one would save me a lot of pain and suffering. At first glance the unit is about 30+ cm wide in diameter and about 6 to 8 cm high and weighs about 2 - 3 kilos. It has a charging station that emits an infra red signal for the vacuum cleaner to return home (to the charger) for charging automatically. I am mostly using the remote control at the moment because I have not fully worked out how to set the auto cleaning of...Read more
the product but it gave me a little fright when after setting the clock a couple of days earlier it started up at midnight to do a clean but in saying that I have let it do it's own thing a few times and it seems very thorough I find it does do the job quite well and is very good in its cleaning ability but I have not tried the "Mop" function as yet. I did set the time on the machine but that is all (or so i thought). Once I have mastered the functions of the timer clean I will make another review but so far I am very impressed with the abilities of this little cleaner. I recommend this to anyone who has trouble with a normal vacuum cleaner (or simply does not like vacuuming or does not have the time) as there is very little effort and if it does goes astray (which it hasn't as yet) then there are directional controls on the hand held remote to direct the unit around. It was valued at around 12 hundred dollars although I find it hard to believe it would actually sell for that amount...we picked it up for 189.00 delivered. The pocket/reservoir part where the dirt goes into is relatively small so if you have dogs I would be vigilant (initially) in changing or emptying the dirt compartment on a regular basis. Although it is supposed to beep when full, mine did not and I found it (as we have animals) pushing around a lump of dog hair in the bedroom under the bed. I like the way it backtracks over itself making sure all areas are thoroughly done and it also travels the length of the wall on "wall" function. There are many functions on the remote such as " "Turbo" (which makes it sound like a plane it taking off) "Wall" (as mentioned above) "Full Go" which seems to increase the suction a little, "Spot" (where it will concentrate on a particular area you find needs more attention), "Timer" (which I mentioned i have not mastered yet) "Home" (where it will return to the base for recharging) " "Power" (speaks for itself) and a start/stop button surrounded by directional buttons. This is not ideal if you have a lot of wires laying around on the floor as it has a tendency to trap them in the wheels or somewhere else on the unit so I recommend things are moved off the ground before using the timer function as you will probably not be present when the unit wakes and cleans the house for you when either asleep or out. The unit will track it's own movements and appears to remember where it left (the charger) so it can return home when finished or running low on battery. The battery does have enough power to do my house a couple of times before it needs a recharge so the power consumption is adequate for me. The unit comes with various attachments including a virtual wall which is a unit in itself requiring batteries to emit an infra red signal to the cleaner indicating it should not pass this area and it forms a right angle creating a corner type effect. This can be moved around as needed and is about the size of a large packet of cigarettes (if you are smoker) or about 6cm by 6cm. It also comes with another attachment for the moping function and a separate water and dirt compartment that replaces the original one and a microfiber pad that attaches on the bottom (which i assume is the mop) that drags around under the vac unseen The unit tracks around table legs and other obstacles quite easily but as i said, cords are the killer. I did have to cut a hair ribbon from the wheels set up as one was left on the ground, this obviously is not a hair ribbon anymore. The unit also has built in "cliff detectors" to stop it crashing down the stairs or off the edge of somewhere. So far I am happy with this unit and, as I said, once I have fully mastered the timer functions i will make a new review or edit this one, On a side note I would like to thank this site for its Coles voucher they supplied to me for making reviews of products i have bought. I have some new item coming this Christmas so i will be back to regale you with more household chatter. Until then I hope this helps anyone contemplating buying such a product. And this unit is NOT discontinued :)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent little helper
I bought my Genie not knowing what to expect. We have just built a new low level home tiles and carpets and my best little friend makes light work of vacuuming. I close the door to a room and let Genie(I call him George) do all the work. Then I manually move him from room to room and presto the house is clean of dust.

Immediate Error Code 08 upon connection
Not happy with buying something and immediately error codes due to faulty battery. The instructions etc sound wonderful and would be of great use, but it charges for 5 seconds then error code 08, obviously fault with the battery and possibly a regular issue that after contacting place of purchase was told..."BAD LUCK" contact manufacturer... Awaiting response from manufacturer.

Step up from my last one
Unlike the robot vac I bought 3 years ago, this one actually has suction whereas the other had the roller brush. It picks up dirt quite well on tiles but could benefit from a roller brush on carpet. Overall I was happy until it broke down.
2 weeks after purchase I get an error message E008 relating to power/battery. I followed the trouble shoot instructions and even opened the battery casing to check the connection but still had the issue come up. I contacted the manufacturer about the issue and I was asked to send a video of the issue which I...Read more

Good value for money
We’ve had our Genie for over six months and found it very functional. We have two kelpies and two cats and found our Genie picks up heaps of dirt, hair and other small bits form our tiled floors with medium sized mats. Genie works it’s way around our rooms methodically though stops because it’s gotten stuck under the furniture, it’s full or the cat has confused it’s sensors (it doubles as an expensive cat toy!). The down side is the manual doesn’t help with how to get the best out of your machine and it finds it hard to find the docking station to recharge before running out of power. All in all it is great value for money.

Don't expect a lot
Has many functions with remote, but not in manual, so you basically have to guess what they are for. It's not great at picking up fine rubbish, but ok with hair. It's low enough to get itself under furniture but it does tend to climb onto furniture legs and get itself stuck. Not as good as the iRobot or Roomba. It has lots of trouble getting itself home to recharge

I have a ZX2000 and want to know if I can get replacement parts somewhere in Australia.

Have just purchased brushes and filters on line from Coolcar Spare Parts. Unit 21,40-44 Wellington Road South Granville N.S.W. 2142. However presume the parts actually came from overseas as we don’t manufacture much in Australia any more. Perhaps that will change due to Virus.
Thank you Margaret really appreciate your reply and will try to contact them.
I have never tried to buy any spare parts as my vaccum died even before i need any spares. Sorry can't help.
