Incorrect speed limits

published

On a state highway eg. Port Wakefield Road South Australia it warns you that the speed limit is 60kph in fact it is 110kph. It also doesn't give correct warnings about railway crossings.

Purchased in August 2021 at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores.

Comments as above. The Navman insists that the speed limit is 60kph.
It does not have correct speed limits above 60kph.

BOSSPPasked

I have recently bought a Navman CRUISE550MT. It was fine for the first week. Now it takes a couple of minutes to power up after turning on my car, and then while driving, its turns off and comes back on again after a few minutes where I have to go through the initial prompts again. My older Navman didn't do this. Why is this happening? Is it a faulty unit?

Hi BOSSPP,

Thank you for posting your query.

It seems that the battery went flat which is why the device has to go through the normal start up process when it detected power.

The device should stay on while it is connected to the power source. If it went off while driving, it seems that it lost the connection from the car power adapter. To isolate the problem, please make sure that the car power adapter has the green light glowing in part that is inserted into the cigarette port of the car to confirm power is being received from the vehicle. If the green light does not light up, the in-car power adaptor could be faulty. If the in-car power adaptor is faulty, and if you need to replace it, please send us a private message with your Full name, phone number, device’s serial number, shipping address and the date of purchase, or send us an email on [email protected] so we can send you a replacement car power adapter.

If the device is rebooting even if it is detecting power from the in car power adapter, please try to update the software of the device. The latest software version can be downloaded from the link below:
http://download.mio.com/ServicePack/SmartST/Navman/CRUISE550MT_v7_60_0904.exe

Software version can be found under Settings>Help>About then look for Build version. Latest one for the Cruise550MT is V7.60.0904.

If the device has the latest software, please try to reinstall the software. For the steps, please refer to the link below:
https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_DownLoad_File.aspx?bullid=AllBull&fileid=114762

Hopefully, the above steps will resolve the problem.

I'm not tech-head, but if the unit is plugged into the cigarette port and the ignition is on, how can the battery be flat? The car power adapter light is on Green even when the unit powers off. The other issue is that i bought one for a close friend for her birthday and her unit is doing the same thing - that is, whilst driving the unit powers off and then after a few minutes, it powers on again and you have to go through the initial prompts while driving to get back onto Maps. This sounds like a manufacturing fault to me. What can we do to rectify this please?

Hi BOSSPP,

Your device should not shuts off while connected to a power source. Have you tried updating its software to further isolate the problem? The latest software version can be downloaded from the link below:

I can no longer delete the ‘track log’ (green dots) from my recently purchased CRUIS550mt. Have historically deleted the track log but frustratingly no more. Have updated and visited user manual often. Any directions welcome. Thanks.

Hi T Fox,

Thank you for posting your query.

There is no option to delete the track log or green dots but, you have the option to restore the device to factory default which will delete the green dots with all the manually added or saved addresses and settings.

This can be done by going to Settings>Device>Restore Factory default.

Hi Valerie,

Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, we only have a standard size of the in-car power adapter. What we can suggest is to try contacting an auto-electrician for further assistance with your cigarette lighter. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Feel free to contact our team for any other concerns via [email protected]
