The Navman mov70lm has the wrong date. How do I reset the date, please

Before we proceed further, please check the serial number (SN) of your device.



- If it is starting with letter “F”, the problem is related with GPS signal. You may refer to the link below to rectify the issue.

I just downloaded the patch to fix the date on my MOV70LM as it thought it was 2014. Followed instructions and ended up with the message "PRODUCT KEY IS NOT VALID, PLEASE RECOVER YOUR PRODUCT KEY VIA NAVDESK". Navdesk says to input the product key on the device. I now have a non functioning unit because of your patch, can you help please.

Sorry for the trouble. Your device requires a free service at our Repair Centre to fix your issue.

Please email our support team on [email protected] with the following information so we can create a repair ticket number or RMA:

-Full Name
-Phone number
-Shipping address (if business address, include business name)
-Device’s serial number
-Date and Place of Purchase (if available)

Once we have the required information, we will provide you with your RMA number and an address to send the unit to.

hi, I am having the same issue. I have the move70lm and it has no maps on it and it won't let me update or put any maps on it. Can I please have some help?

I recently bought a new adaptor for my Move70lm after my old one was faulty, I had to recharge the battery completely, the device works fine but it thinks it is 2014 and the time is completely wrong, wich is the bigger issue for me, how do I correct the time?

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Navman.

The first thing I would suggest is to remove all cables connected to the Navman. Then, perform a hard reset to the device by poking the reset hole at the back of it.

If the problem persists, we may need to perform Smart Recovery on the NavDesk2. Please follow the steps from the link below.

I purchased a MOVE70LM but the DVD reader in the computer will not read the application installer CD and it does not show up on "My Computer". I am operating Windows 10. However, other DVD's and CD's are operating normally. The Navman CD is clean and does not appear to have any apparent defects and works in my wife's computer which is the same as mine. I managed to get this time and date error fixed by the following link provided by Navman Service team

First you need to prepare a 8GB or 16GB Micro SD card (Do Not Use 4GB, I experienced it may not work)
Secondly download the patch provided above and extract into your MicroSD
Then follow the 10 Steps procedure. It takes about 3mins to fix this wrong time issues.

I had the exact same problem & navman are not interested i have contacted support many times. It was working fine until i updated it also after the updates it is telling me iam in a 50kph zone when iam in a 100kmh zone

I decided to download the latest software and Maps, and I get sorry no Maps available. is this unit now obsolete with no updates?

Hi Peter,

Sorry for the trouble. This can be caused by three possible things.

1. the map or software update got interrupted during installation
2. disconnecting the device from the PC without safely removing it
3. incompatible computer (ex. Mac 10.13 & above)

Your unit comes with Free Map Updates, which entitles you to receive a minimum of two and a maximum of four map updates in a year. To make sure that the map update will be installed properly, you will need a compatible computer (Windows Vista (32-bit only), Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Mac OSX 10.0 to 10.12 only).

To help you reload the maps on the unit, we can try the steps below:

For Windows:
1. Reconnect the device to your computer then launch NavDesk.
2. Click on ‘My Navman’ on the left column of NavDesk, and then select ‘Options’.
3. On the sub menus, click on ‘My Maps’.
4. Click ‘Change’ button, and you may select a different location of the ISO file (ex: Desktop).
5. Click ‘Ok’ all the way out.
6. Close and reopen NavDesk and wait for the prompts.

For Mac (Mac 10.13 & above):
1. Reconnect the device to your computer then launch NavDesk.
2. Click on ‘Device Updates’ on the left column of NavDesk.
3. Click ‘Change’ button, and you may select a different location of the ISO file (ex: Desktop).
4. Click ‘Open/Choose’ all the way out.
5. Close and reopen NavDesk and wait for the prompts.

Hi Harpreet,

The fault was likely caused by two possible things:

1. Faulty battery.
2. Faulty adapter.

To help you determine the problem, kindly fully charge the battery by:
• NAVMAN In-car power adapter for 3 hours
• NAVMAN AC adaptor for 3 hours (if available)
• Charging via the computer USB port. It may take up to 24 hours to fully charge the battery.
- It is not preferred as USB ports can emit a lower than required amount of power and if the battery is completely flat, the USB port may not produce enough of an initial kick to start charging the battery. If this happens, please charge the device with the power off via AC or In-car power adaptor for 30 minutes first, then connect the device to the computer.

If the unit is able to stay on for more than 10 minutes right after fully charging through the computer or AC charger, the in-car power adapter might be faulty. We can send a replacement one to you if the device is still within the warranty.

Hi Harpreet,

Is the device turning off after 4-5 seconds when not connected to the power source? If so, please note:
- The battery it is not to be used or relied upon as a sole power source.
- The device is designed to be connected to the Car Power Adaptor at all times.
- The battery is designed as a backup power source in the event of a short-term power failure/loss from the main power source (cigarette lighter port).
- Please ensure you are always using the Navman Car Power Adaptor that came with your device.

The In-car power supply needs to have the green light glowing in part that is inserted into the cigarette port of the car to confirm power is being received from the vehicle. If the green light does not light up, the in-car power adaptor could be faulty. Please either test the in-car power supply in another vehicle or test the car’s cigarette port with another charging device. If the in-car power adaptor is faulty and your device is within the 1-year warranty, we can send a replacement one to you. Just send your name, phone number, shipping address, serial number and the date and place of purchase to [email protected] for accessory request.

What a crock, 1 year replacement is pathetic. I've had my Move70LM for just on 3 years, and now won't charge via Car charger or PC charger. It continually restarts every 1-2 seconds with the "battery charging" screen. Hard reset via the paperclip does nothing, even tried holding it in for 8 seconds like a Garmin user suggested. I wouldn't be surprised if the battery has "carked it" as it has had intermittent use (Navman batteries have a lousy reputation on forums), although last use being 2 months ago.
So much for "lifetime maps". 10 years maps according to law. Pity the life of the unit is so crap. Never buying a Navman again.

Hey how come my maps are not really 3D when I select this function rather than 2D mode? It looks basic as like a black and white pencil drawing... The cheap bigw GPS I had ten years ago had a better colour 3D view than this! not happy tried to return it to the good guys but they would not accept because that is not a fault that's normal function.

3D view of the map should be north up and a little slant compare to 2D which is still north up but a birds eye view (flat view). Hope this helps.

You would need to know from Navman if the local US Hawaii maps are available for you to download as you probably only have original and updated Australian maps.

I have the unit connected permanently to car power via cigarette lighter connection. When I turn the car on, it turns the unit on, but it every time is asks me if I want to keep the unit powered up otherwise it will turn off in 10 seconds. Is there any way for this not to happen and for the unit to turn on and stay on while it is connected to direct power (which one would think would be the default?)? Cheers

Thanks for posting your query.

The prompt you're pertaining to only shows when the unit is disconnected from power while in use. The device will enter a suspended state within 10 seconds automatically once disconnected from power. To continue using the device, you have to tap Yes. But if you miss the message/prompt, briefly press the power button to return to the previous display. Sadly, there's no option to disable this message.

When turning on my MOVE70LM the safety message rolls and flickers and by touching the agree button the GPS does nothing just keeps rolling and flickering. Purchased through Harvey Norman, Nelson, NZ. Is there a service / repair center I can send it to for repair or should I just pay for a new one? Pressing the reset button does not correct the problem.

Since you have already tried reset, what we can do next is to perform smart recovery the disc that was supplied with the device upon purchase.
