when buying the 30 day rental maps for Europe can you install but not activate until i need it
We attempted this, but it never worked (England and Scotland). We borrowed a friend's TomTom in Yorkshire, instead. Not as nice an interface as Navman's... but it worked flawlessly during our many weeks driving in the UK.

Read more To set the date and time of your device, go to Settings > Time Zone. Once set, please take the device outside with a clear view of the sky for it to get a GPS signal. The date and time will automatically adjust once the unit acquires the GPS signal. If your device still has incorrect date and time, this is likely related to the GPS rollover. It has been working perfectly for some years now, but the last couple of days first the time went out by about 20odd minutes and the date stays the same as nov 12months ago. In the map screen touch the icon in the top right corner.
It has a little arrow pointing down.
It shows both. You really can't rely on the speed limit shown, especially if you (attempt to) use Apple computers to update maps. Why Navman continues to ship GPS units with very outdated speed limi...

Dr Madness is right. When you tap the top right corner of the map screen, you will get an option to select the information you would like to display such as km/h or mph (speed) and compass heading....

Sorry, no idea, Juile. My Navman unit is now failing to connect with the satellite. Tried it in several locations in the car... but it just keeps searching until it dies... .

How do I change.
Like hundreds (thousands?) of these units (including other Navman models) your GPS was shipped to retailers with this fault. You can post it back to Navman (at _their_ cost) and get them to reprogram...
Read more the fault. Depending on your location, it can take two weeks to get it back. Chances are it also has quite outdated data, such as incorrect speed limits. If you have a PC, rather than a Mac, it may be simple(r) to access new data. All three of my Navman GPS systems have experienced issues... and battery systems in our two previous Navmans failed prematurely. If your Navman dies, you may be able to run it off a power bank, like a WalknTalk 4400mAh, or a Signify 6000mAh. Even 'repowered' with these mobile rechargeable units, your GPS is likely to suffer early dementia... and pass on to the Land of Bricks.Dear Bruce,

I try to update my Navman move85lm. Have downloaded the Navdesk2 software. When I connect my unit I can see that it is being charged but the Navdesk software says "not connected" so I'm unable to update the maps. I've tried this on 2 computers What am I doing wrong?

Question: when removing unit from the car, when asked if I want to use again later - "No" - should I turn it off at the button (5 seconds) or will it just stay off until the next connection?

I have tried the reset button made sure it is fully charged but nothing is happening. It doesn't move further.

On the back, bottom right there’s a sticker with a barcode.
Above the barcode you’ll see S N MV85###.
That’s the serial number. From the MV85 on....

how to reset time
Use the update and flash the unit. Seriously, i feel this is the worst model for this brand. I would return it back. Almost every model is faulty with this or that. Do you heard this Navman!

You're doing well, mine thinks it's 2014. And we feared the millennium virus.
As for "what next"?
Insure and hammer would be my advice.
Have contacted Australian agent Mitac. Have arranged for unit to be sent to them for repair.
You could try in settings, units, date format.
It looks like yankee date format mm/dd/yy.
Change it to dd/mm/yy.
