Yep - same problem here. Go to google and type in 'Navman GPS Rollover Patch' hopefully this will take you to the secure navman service page where you can download the patch (April 2022) and read the how to instructions. Took me 10 mins to complete and now all is good with the world :-)

I have a Navman Move85LM and have tried to update the maps. When checking on the Navman app it says there are updates then shows Australian Continent (TA)MapData_TAAU1_5401.iso 18.0954 490.83MB It also shows one for NZ but I do not need that now.

The problem is this is all that happens, I cannot select anything or download it.

Also while in the car during the day when I turn on the device. Sometimes it keeps the screen very dark like it is in a nighttime mode. I cannot use it and it is becoming very frustrating.

Sorry for the trouble. If you're using a Mac computer, simply maximize the NavDesk app by doing a double click on the top most part of the window to see the download buttons.

As for screen mode issue, this is likely related to the GPS rollover. We have a patch update to rectify this.

Hi, Navman Techs, I find the Screen very hard to read, its so bright without colour, being of not good vision i need a clearer more colorful model. with not even a sunny day.Do you have a model that is bright and full color that i may upgrade too.? And do Navman tradin.?

1 answer
Navman
NavSupport A.Navman

Hi Graeme,

Most of our current devices have a matt finish and anti-glare screen which gives it a soft feel. We recommend adjusting the brightness settings to maximum in the daytime and/or try different colour schemes.

To adjust the brightness level on your unit, please follow the steps below:
1. Go to the main menu.
2. Tap on ‘Settings’.
3. Select ‘Screen’.
4. You can then adjust the brightness manually. The unit is set to ‘Auto’ as default. This means that the unit will automatically change from Day to Night mode.
5. You can override the Auto setting by tapping on the ‘Screen Mode’ option at the top of the screen and select either ‘Day’ or ‘Night’ mode.

To change the colour scheme of the map on your unit, please follow the steps below:
1. Go to the main menu.
2. Tap on ‘Settings’.
3. Select ‘Map Display'.
4. Select ‘Map scheme’.
5. Choose the desired colour scheme from the list.

If you find that the screen mode switches back to night mode during day, then the issue is likely related to the GPS rollover. We have a patch update to rectify this.

Yes this is me, I'm annoyed and frustrated as it was a gift from my aunt Sandra and she was told by the salesman with that model it would suit me and my lifestyle and as a bonus you get free map updates for life, I put the driver disk in my computer plugged in the navman reinstalled software and went to the search bar on my computer and typed in time and date as the time was out by 5 years so I put in relevant dates and times and year thinking that this would fix problem as I had read many forum reviews by other irate customers and had read that those actions would fix issue, I rang navman and gave my details and also forwarded an email with all the details I knew or know and expect this resolved ASAFP my reference number is =00D7F4dFtl._5007FpwU05 I'm hoping this might help with your enquiry, don't just think oh ok this is underway and click next use my details and ref number to get things moving as I need an email or call ASAFP 0450169863 brad gledhill forgot to mention it won't go past main screen it won load reset or hold down the on off button til it flashed to no fifference

How do i set date and time for the GPS unit? It currently shows 31/3/10 and will not get changed. when using the manual update function you have to hold the GMT+ button in until it reaches the correct GMT time, Try making sure you are outdoors when trying to set the time also, so the gps can kick in. It may help.....

NavSupport A.Navman

Thanks for your comment, shandonn. we really appreciate it.

Hi Sam,

The date and time in the unit cannot be adjusted manually, but it will automatically adjust once the unit acquires the GPS signal. You just need to take it under a clear view of the sky for it to get the signal and so to get the correct date and time.
o CLICK HERE: https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_DownLoad_Faq.aspx?bullid=AllBull&faqid=131400 if the unit does not acquire or has weak GPS signal.
Note: If it's your first time to visit our FAQ site, you need to select Australia/New Zealand and then click the above link again to be directed to the correct site/page.

If no success, update or reinstall the software on your device.
o To check the software version on the unit, go to Settings, select Help and then About. Get the Build version: 7.60.xxx. The latest build version is 7.60.0240. Please CLICK HERE: https://service.navman.com/M0100/DownLoad_Faq_131402_Australia%20NAVMAN_English%20Navman.html to download and install the latest software version on your device.
o If the software is updated, you may need to perform Smart Recovery using the disc that was supplied with the device upon purchase. Please note that this process can only be done using a compatible Windows computer that has a DVD drive. Please CLICK HERE: https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_DownLoad_Faq.aspx?bullid=AllBull&faqid=131466&Region=Australia%20NAVMAN&Language=English%20NAVMAN for the steps on how to reinstall the software on your device.

Hope this helps!

Just off the top of my head, that may be because there's only limited house/business numbers in that street. The numbers you're putting in or trying to put in may not exist, or be acknowledged. Not certain if that's it, but I think this has happened to me also in the past.

Thanks for this Peter. That may be what was happening. I am finding it easier to use this function now and in general this GPS device is working well for my needs.

Hi DLH,

Thanks for posting your query. if you find that there are missing street numbers, we urge you to report this via our map reporting tool here: https://www.navman.com.au/map-reporter, because unfortunately, if we aren't told of discrepancies, we can not resolve them.

Once the discrepancy is confirmed, we report the data to our mapping provider, and will now follow up to its resolution.

How do I make the international maps install on the SD card? It installs on the internal storage ok, but I don't see how to make it use the SD card, and I haven't seen instructions anywhere for how to make it do this. Maybe I haven't looked in the right places?

I bought a Navman MOVE85LM a few months ago and it worked fine until recently, when it shut down and when I tried to boot it up it won't go past the 'Safety Agreement' screen. When I tick the 'accept' box it powers down again. How do I resolve this problem?

1 answer
Navman
NavSupport A.Navman

Hi Dario,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The software might have been corrupted or the unit doesn't have enough power to operate. To isolate the problem, please try the following:

1. Fully charge your unit using an AC adapter (5v-2amps) for 3-4 hours.
2. Perform a reset by poking the reset hole located at the back of the GPS for 3-5 seconds.
3. If the above steps didn't work, we'll have to reinstall the software of the unit using a Windows computer and the DVD that came with it. You may follow the steps from this link: https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_DownLoad_Faq.aspx?bullid=AllBull&faqid=131466

Does this device notify you when you are speeding or do you have to manually set a speed limit?

1 answer
Navman
NavSupport A.Navman

Hi Paul,

Your Move85LM does have a speed limit alert. The speed limits are based on our mapping data and at the same time, the device has a GPS based speedometer to detect if you are over the speed limit. Speed limit is displayed on the lower left side of the map. To enable speed limit alert, go to the settings of the device > Safety > Speed limit display: On and Speed limit alert: you can set it to auto, +5kph or +10kph

Hi Doug,

You can only save up to 99 addresses on My Places. If the My Places is not yet full but your unable to add more addresses, you may do the following to fix the problem:

1. Install software update: https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_DownLoad_Faq.aspx?bullid=AllBull&faqid=131402
*note: if the link didn't work the first time, select a region first then try again*

2. Perform a reset by pushing the reset hole located at the back of the GPS, near the USB port (on the lower right).

3. Restore the device to Factory default setting . Doing this will delete any saved data on the GPS. For instructions on how to back-up, please refer here: https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_DownLoad_Faq.aspx?bullid=AllBull&faqid=131462
