Ok
Purchased in May broken down in late July due to blocked fan. Warranty advise this is not good and will need replacement unit. But whilst operating Neato was great amazing how much dust gathers over one day. Time will tell how warranty goes regarding replacement unit and life of replacement unit.

It’s great until it breaks!
Used the vacuum 2 - 3 times a week. Made sure nothing big was left on the ground. Changed filter every 4-6 weeks (these aren’t cheap!). Had it just under one year and it broke. After a lot of discussion with the company, which has to be through email, they finally sent a ‘new’ one. It’s been less than 6 months and this one is broken too. Have been told that I am no longer under warranty as it lasts one year since purchasing. It doesn’t matter that machine is only 6 months old. Not worth the $1200 spent! I would find a better company with better customer service that’s accessible in Australia!

Great machine
I love it, navigates from room to room on its own, much more intelligent then my old Roomba, I would recommend the Neato Connected. I hate vacuuming, or any cleaing for that matter..lol, now I need one to wash my car and windows. You will not be disappointed with the Connected.

Do not buy you have been warned
It broke once during warranty. Then it broke out of warranty (about a month out of the 12 month warranty). Of course we didn't get any support. Spent $400 to repair it because it kept saying the dirt bin wasn't in, when it was. Now a couple months later it is broken again. No fault message, it just won't go and it beeps. So broken 3 times and costs half it's purchase price to repair, but still doesn't work. Buy something that isn't a hunk of junk.

Could be better
I thought it was going to be a lot better then what it is. Doesn’t clean the corners very well as the side brush is very small. Filter is cheap and needs replacing every few months. It’s pretty noisy too. Other then that it’s ok the coolest feature is it goes back to its base

Poor customer support.
Purchased a neato December 2016, Sept 2017 it stopped working. Went thru all the steps and neato ended up sending a new battery. Now it is no longer working again, but am told the battery only has a 6 month warranty. They sent me link where I can purchase a new battery.
What you pay for these and they don't support it, waste of money!!!

Multiple batteries and constant issues
When the device works it is great. The issue for the machine I got it has only been operational 30 percent of the time. The device stops working and indicates power switch needs to be put into the down position. Support has worked me through several steps over and over. Sent multiple batteries and finally the device ran out of warranty and they (Neato support) stopped helping. They would not replace the machine they just delayed until the warranty expired.

Helpful but needs some improvements
The vacuum function is powerful and picks up dirt and pet hair very well. Unfortunately our robot has issues of getting stuck under furniture or not properly returning to its base to charge which means it is not ready to use when we need it.
It works well when it actually works but it is not intuitive enough to use in our absence. I would love to be able to set it to run while we are at work. The magnetic strips are ugly and annoying to have to put down each time you vacuum.
Would recommend either the newer Neato (with electronic boundaries) or the Roomba instead.

Does What The Manufactures Say
We got this 4 days ago. We don't have kids, no pets and the wife has short hair, so our house is fairly clean. WE do have a 4 bedroom house, carpet and tiles on one level. The Botvac DC00 completes the whole house in 3 hours on ECO mode, requiring a charge after 115 minutes. This charge tops it up to around 80%, it then heads out to where it let off and then completes the rest of the house. The map/floor plan is updated on my phone to show where it has been, square meters cleaned, total time taken and total charging time. The map is fairly accu...Read more
rate and is a good feature. Notifications are sent to my phone when the full house is completed. It can be started from your phone, if you are at the pub or anywhere you have an internet connection. Seems to clean well, Not as good as a 240 volt vac cleaner of coarse. The bin is not huge so I clean it and the filter when it goes back for a charge. Also it has found the charger base on every occasion so far. Fairly easy to set up the wifi, can't get into too much strife. Gave it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement with anything! My problems are 1, that the filter is not washable and I can see this clogging within a month, and 2, it does bump its way around a bit and its not real elegant getting out of corners. Seems to have a bit of trouble with our bed height and almost gets stuck every time. The cleaning logic first completes a 4 metre by 4 metre perimeter and then fills it in, then progresses to the next 4 metre section. For example, It may do half the kitchen and half the dinning room as part of its 4 meter square, the remainder, is always completed at some stage that day. So far we are happy. I have it scheduled for 3 cleaning days a week, should be enough to maintain our house. Update 5/4/18 The filter has clogged. The ones on ebay are not genuine and have an unknown micron rating, consequently they are cheap. Genuine filters are around $60 for two. So I removed the plastic pre filter that was glued on and cleaned out the fine lint in the pleated section. I pinched a Razza Matazz sheer knee hi 15 denier stocking from the wife and put the filter inside it. This works great. Only a very small amount of fine dust gets past the stocking to the pleated section now.Purchased in February 2021 at Harvey Norman for A$1,200.00.

My Neato Botvac
This by far has to be the very best purchase I have ever made in my life. I hate vacuuming and twice a week I leave the house and use my phone to get the vacuum to do its job. Sometimes I even ask Google Home to Vacuum the House and my Neato activates and starts cleaning. It keep my surfaces very dust free as it doesn't blow air around blowing dust around and cleans very close to the surface getting to each corner and nook without missing a cm anywhere. In works awesome on carpet (flat and plush) and hard floor surfaces. It even jumps over...Read more
small bumps without a problem. It is extremely quiet and doesn't get in the way at all. It takes an hour and 45minutes to vacuum our 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, dinning, hallways and laundry (2 story home) to easily wizz through and clean without a problem only going back once to charge. It doesn't fall down the stairs and knows exactly where it's going. A definite buy for the lazy person! Worth every cent!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

makes my life real easy
The vacuum is very easy to use. I'm quite lazy usually and this vacuum makes my house so much cleaner. It is able to vacuum while i'm not at home which i believe is one of its best function. it literally picks up everything and works very well so far.

Best idea ever
This vacuum picks up everything. One perk of having a robot vacuum is that it makes me keep clutter off the floor . I haven’t used a regular vacuum in a year . I run it most days and am quite horrified at the volume of dust and garbage that we drop in a day .

Be prepared and you will love it. Customer Support average.
Updated 17.03.18
Had a small issue with the bot (wheels sensors thinking it was lifted off the ground). Fixed with local repairer.
But be aware, if you bought your bot from Amazon (overseas), you void the warranty as it's "out of region". Obviously not a true Global company. Also, support was very slow and not worth the time really. The small cost and quick turn around from a local repairer - much better! And don't bother about using an authorised repairer. Cheap and cheerful will do since the warranty has been voided anyway. =]

little research before hand on how good robotic vacuums really are. After about 7-8 review sites, you start to see common points: 1. Does not replace your traditional vac. 2. Needs a flat clear surface. No high carpets. 3. Strangles itself with thin cables. (eg. iPhone charging cable. No issue with power board cables) 4. Can be a bit erratic in how it cleans.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Warning don’t buy if you have dark rooms or carpets
What I didn’t realise until I received the product and looked at the manual was the vacuum doesn’t work well on shiny or dark floors we have both. supplier said as I had opened the box the product was now a “second” and full refund would not be issued. So we tried it
It is docked in our main bedroom which has dark carpets and I had to put the lights on and the curtains up to give the vacuum assistance it has vacuumed most of the room. Upon my return home the bot was out of battery in the middle of the bedroom floor. From what I can tell it h...Read more
as done two rooms and I was surprised to find the bin full since the floors were vacuum a couple of days ago. We have a large wide house polished concrete floors which it doesn’t seem to have a problem with and carpets in bedrooms. the media and main bed have dark carpet. It won’t go into the media as the room is too dark. I can see that I will have problems in winter when it is darker in the house. I had a deebot previously which worked perfectly for a month before issues arose and from what I can see at this point the deebot actually worked better and would even go under the bed for a fraction of the cost. It is quiet by comparison but doesn’t come with a remote control. From my point of view if you have a light bright house with light floors this will work well. If you have a dark, shadowy house or dark floors give it a miss.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Way better than my last iRobot
I have had my Neato Connected for over a year, I'm writing a review just because I was searching to buy another for
my son and was checking pricing online, I had Roombas before and the Neato is so much better, the Roomba would bounce of the wall and leave marks everywhere, the Neato does not do that plus it has far stronger suction and larger bin and filter
February 27th 2018 Update: Better than Roomba
All of my prior vacuuming robots were Roombas. After reading reviews, I decided to try the Botvac Connected. It's a game changer. It's more effective at picking up dirt and hair, AND it doesn't damage my walls and furniture by repeatedly bumping into them. My skirting boards are all marked form the Roomba, no marks from the Neato

Replaced twice, third time asked for an IRobot instead.
The first Botvac Connected I purchased lasted about 3 days, then just wouldn’t switch on. Harvey Norman replaces after sending back to check what the issue was. The second one lasted 5 months. Today I came home while it was in a cleaning cycle (and could smell burnt plastic) and it had mounted itself against a wall and the wheels kept spinning. The friction between the floor and the wheels had caused all the plastic on the wheels to deteriorate and melt onto my floor. Thankfully it didn’t catch fire.
Took it back to Harvey Norman and told them I’d like my my money back or an equivalent replacement from another brand. I know have an iRobot. Wouldn’t buy another neato.

Neato D00 connected
The BOTVAC works!!....and cleans our 220sqm tile flooring and carpet area well. The suction could be better however does a good job. The navigation works very well and covers a lot of ground without running out of battery. It navigates the home in a logical manner however it tends to bump and crash into things making it somewhat clumsy in tight spaces. It collects a good amount of dust and particles and is easy to clean. Overall I recommend this product.

Excellent! A step up from XV-11
Works very well. We had a previous XV-11 which was good until it died after about 5 years. The map is useful in the new model because it allows us to check whether the entire house has indeed been covered acceptably. Suction power is more or less the same as previous. The side brush is a good addition, but we've had one episode where the brush was knocked off and was subsequently sucked up the main channel, destroying the side brush and the rotating main brush in the process. This was replaced under warranty by Neato.

Love this little cleaner
We moved at the start of the year to a house that has online tiles. I started researching vacuums and was tossing up between this one and roomba. Went with this once as it's meant to handle animal hair.
It's made us get into a good routine, every morning we pick up everything off the floor and while at work it does it's thing. I love coming home to clear floors.
It has gotten itself stuck a few times but by using the magnetic strip we're able to keep it out of danger.
Also it does need a little more maintenance (mostly cleaning) than the average vacuum, but with the amount of time it saves me in vacuuming I'm happy to oblige. Wish I bought one years ago.

Life changer!
This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It saves me SO much time. It does a very good job at navigating the home and cleaning up. My floors have never been so clean. I love at the end of the day I can turn the Neato on and put my feet up! Brilliant invention.

gemmababe29asked
Hi there, not happy jan, I read your review. Ive had several neatos too that were terrible, can you recommend a roomba that is good.
I have a 2 bedroom unit, light colored tiles, no carpet, no pets. no kids, doesnt get very dirty.
Needing something that actually vacuums with suction, not just the type that skim over the floors.
with virtual wall or similar to contain it to certain areas.
that returns to dock when it need to without going flat on the way or having issues attaching itself to the dock
with no charging or battery issues
That doesnt get lost, and can navigate to clean all areas efficiently eg: some machines keep going over one area repeatedly while missing other areas or take ages in their navigation to do an area due to their poor mapping
Not wanting anything that gets stuck, climbs walls, gives error codes when nothing is wrong
Not needing anything wireless or with an app as I dont use technology or have a smartphone ect.
Hoping you can help

Is it supposed to shout off if the bin gets full? The one time my got full it did not shut off.

Mine does, beeps a lot to let you know.
Thank you Lisa, maybe mine beeped and I wasn't in the area. I know it didn't shut off but I really can't say it didn't beep. That is good to know.
It should beep

I have a shag rug & wondering if it can handle that ?
3 answers
Not very well. It's not really powerful enough to deal with this & the wheels will struggle to drive it around. You can place the magnetic strips under the edges of the rug to keep it off if you'd like, I suppose.
I've got a super high pile rug and after trying it a few times it now just avoids it. Normal low pile rugs it handles no problem.
Use the orange brush that comes with it
