Just wondering how long it takes for a baby to get use to nan comfort..my little girl 7 weeks old started using it 3 days ago but she is having belly pains.

oh that poor thing.. I think it must take a fair few weeks. My daughter just turned to 4 month, and she has been taking it for the last 3 weeks.. The constipation kind of comes and goes, but I heard it's no point to try another formula too quick. Apparently the formula shouldn't be causing constipation, only user error, like making it too thick, but I always follow the guide on this, and very prompt with the measurements. there could be many things interfering with their little systems :( it's so hard to guess. Hope she will get better soon!

I was breastfeed my newborn baby for about 2weeks becoz of my health issue I has given my son Karicare plus instead. Then, he became unsettle and vomit a lots. I’d seen a lots good reviews about NAN comfort1. I decided to purchase it for my baby. It was good for the first feed. However, after a few days my son sleeping pattern has changed as he only sleep for 15-30mins during the day, 2-3hrs max at night. Then he woke up cry. Is anyone have the same problems too?

Every baby has a formula that works for them & some that don’t.
It’s just trial & see sadly.
I’d suggest speaking to your GP or health nurse though for advice on this. A product review site won’t be able to give the correct medical advice

Has anyone had the issue where the maximum amount isn’t filling their baby up? I am hesitant to consistently feed more as it seems like a large amount of liquid to be giving him.

Hi Billie,

The community nurse advised me to next age group, in saying that, my husband and I made the decision to change formulas as it was not filling our son up. Also if you google, there’s a calculation on the amount of formula, it’s based on weight and age I think, if you want accuracy.

I had to put my 2 week old baby girl on formula due to issues with breastfeeding. I am currently using Nan Comfort and it was great for initial couple of weeks. After that she started becoming extremely windy and unsettled. She spits so much milk and screams while feeding. We also tried S26 original which made her worst so we returned to Nan comfort and my bub is still so unsettled and it breaks my heart to see her in pain. I do not know which formula to go for?

You could try the Nan Pro Gold, it has a slightly different whey to casein ratio that can sometime make it a little easier to digest. We were on this for a little while and as our baby got older we then switched back to Nan Comfort.

Dear nan comfort is most gentle on little tommies . Give formula at night and breastfeed in morning.do not mix like one breastfeed and next formula feed.your baby will stop throwing.as for as gas is concerned it happens at this age weather you use formula or not.babies will settle with time.

It’s probably a growth spurt, which is normal for that age. Download the Wonderweeks app, I think it’s $1.99, but it holds a lot of valuable information on development stages and what to expect during certain weeks. Don’t change the formula thickness or anything, maybe just try upping the amount, don’t rely on what the tins says he/she should be having, give them what they want.

I didn’t, but I was breastfeeding as well,

My neice is exclusively formula fed and my sister found putting a few drops of gripe water into baby’s morning bottle worked :)

If you have just changed to the formula it may take a week or 2 for bub to adjust. Try to use the whole tin before changing to something else if no luck. A few days no poo is completely normal when changing formulas It is a very gentle formula so I would suggest bub will adjust and go to pooing daily or 2 daily. If they do get to 3 days some baby coloxyl will soften for when she passes and help move along

We are mixed feeding and provide up to 1 bottle of NAN comfort a day, maybe every other day. It is SO wasteful! I am about to throw out another hardly-used tin!! Is there a way to preserve the remaining formula from the tin ie. can it be frozen?

Hi. I'd recommend to switch from Nan comfort to NAN with mark HA. HA - it is hypoallergenic which means that bub is less likely to have a bad reaction and much easier for bubby's body to digest it

Yes - except for the wind. My baby eats more than the required dose on the tin. For a 6 week old she drinks 120ml every 2-3 hours. Not 150ml 5 times a day.

Yes I just changed from Aldi formula as he was only pooping once a week and seemed to be in pain a few days before the poo. He was sleeping 5 hour block and then 4 hour block overnight with the Aldi formula. Now he is pooping once a day on Nan comfort but feeding every 3 hours now
