Hi I have a 2008 j10 dualis xtronic, my problem is there is a low pitched drone noise coming from the rear of the car and a shutter that is felt through the steering wheel and the whole car. My mechanic removed the tail shaft and sent it away to replace the two cylinders, I drove it for 2weeks only on 2 wheel drive no noise, once he refitted the tail shaft the noise reappeared, so I took it back he had it for a total of 8 weeks and replaced some convertor in the transmission (this was over the Xmas new year period) I got the car back last week and noticed that the noise was still there. I drove from my place of work into a town 27 kms away and the shaking was that bad I could not see out the vision mirror, and noise got louder. I did notice it’s was worse after I put 40 litres of fuel in it, do you have any idea what the problem could be any help would be appreciated
Lynne

have you had the rear wheel bearings checked what you describe sounds like worn rear wheel bearings low pitched drone, shudder in the steering wheel, and whole car & noise getting louder are typically signs of worn rear wheel bearings. Rear wheel bearings wearing out is a common problem with the Dualis they all did it. Find yourself another mechanic & get him the check the rear wheel bearings
worn Rear wheel bearings make the exact sound as you described the car will shudder & the noise will get louder it sounds. Suggest you find another mechanic, Dont use the mechanics at the car dealerships, kmart (my car) NRMA motor serve, ultra tune, or lube mobile, Find a local independent mechanic.
There was a lot problems with the dualis rear wheel bearings & drive shaft bearings Nissan knew about it but did nothing & now the owners are stuck with the problem. do a google search & it may give you some idea how to solve the problem, There is a solution you have to find a mechanic who knows what he is doing, Nissan ended production of the Dualis in 2014 for that reason & re badge them as Quasquai

I have 2013 dualis +2 Ti-L and always appear on my dashboard "service is due and tyres maintenance"but my car have service recently.anyone who have idea about this? Thanks

The service center probably did not use the OBD tool to clear the "fault" (is not a fault, just set to show that message every X km)
To correct this you could either take it back to the service center and ask them to clear the "fault" or you can buy and OBD tool to suit your car from Supercheap or Repco etc. and do it yourself if you feel confident doing such things.
Thanks mate
can you change it manually in the computer settings i can do it that way in an xtrail

Hi
Is anyone facing Nissan QASHQAI have radiator fan shroud problem.
My car fan making noise and when I checked with mechanic, he said there is a play in radiator fan and it's making noise while on full speed.
He also mentioned it's a common issue and it will cost around $1700 to install with only one year warranty.
I am not sure what to do.

Hi Ronak, I have a 2015 build nissan qashqai purchased in March 2016 with only 53K on the clock 6 months out of warrenty and my cooling fan has broken...will cost me $2004 to replace and install with only one year warranty ..we tried to get second hand part through the car wreckers literally impossible to find as its apparently a common problem with nissan qashqai's have also read on the internet that they have recalled 2018 models in the UK due to this problem with cooling fan

1. How many km before you have to change the drive/fan belt ?
2 answers
Typically this will depend on the brand and type of belt installed and driving conditions however as a rule of thumb if the belt appears in good condition and isn't squealing then it should be fine, if the belt does squeal somewhat you could see if there is room left on the adjuster, some cars theses days even have a min/max limit for belt stretch marked on this adjuster.
I would guess that the fan belt will most likely still be serviceable for many years to come as they only really fail for lack of maintenance (slipping and burning out, or falling off onto the road way due to being too loose)
100,00kms

The lighting on the gear shift are not coming on although all other lights work does the gear shift display have a dedicated fuse or is it more sinister than that
thanks

After some discussion with my partner, we too have discovered this issue, it does not appear to effect the operation of the car and all the fuses I can find are in good working order, however I was unable to confirm the operation of a mystery relay.. I think this was more my testing method rather than a faulty relay (and the input/output of that relay should be fused anyway) I would suggest that if it were a fuse issue the shift lights would share a fuse with dash lighting or center console objects like USB port, CD player etc.
Another common issue could be grounding, that is tracing the negative side of the circuit back to the frame of the car and making sure it has a good firm contact with no corrosion or gunk potentially insulating it. This could be very tricky however. Wiring may likely tie into a "common earth" on the loom that is attached to the frame in a nearly impossible to access location, there may be a break.. many things..
if you are not comfortable spending the time or buying the tooling to troubleshoot (A cheap multi meter) it could get very expensive for an auto electrician to chase down.
