So far this is the best 7 seater family car
If you are a daddy or mom of a growing family, this is the best car so far under $50k.
Tilt and slide is the best part that I love in this car. It makes 3rd row access super easy while a child booster seat is still fitted on the 2nd row.
Performance wise its 3500cc engine is very powerful, it tows Jayco camper trailer like a breeze. Steering reaction is also very impressive part for me.
Very smooth riding while quiet and compy.
Some people complains about the CVT mission but I didn't experience any issue with this car including CVT since I own this car in 2016.
Purchased in April 2021 at Nissan Dealers for $42,000.00.

CVT transmission is crap - STAY AWAY
Family car which i feel is unsafe to Drive. We purchased this car brand new in July 2015 for approx $54,000. When we purchased the vehicle it came with 3 year warranty, at the time we enquired about extended warranty as we always purchase the extended warranty. We were told by the salesman that we didn't have to purchase it then and there and we could purchase it later on just as long as it was within the 3 years. When the car was about 2 years old we enquired about the warranty and was told by the service manager that we could not purchase...Read more
it. So that was left at that. We have recently asked another dealer with regards to warranty just for our curiosity and yes you can purchase the extended warranty within the original warranty period. Maybe this is why the dealership we bought our car from is no longer in business as they didn't know what they were on about. We had no major issues until about 5 months ago. We noticed the back brake lights would stay on intermittently - when this light was on we could start the car without putting our foot on the brake, therefore this rendered this a a saftey issue, also we noticed that the car would lack power/ flat lined when we would accelerate, lwe took it to our mechanic who replaced the relay and this fixed the problem (apparently there was a recall but we never received any notification). The second issue we now have is a rattling sound which I notice more when the air conditioner is on - this has turned out to be the cooling fan which will cost us between $2000 - $2200 to fix. The third and most concerning issue is the shuddering, upon researching forums etc this is a big problem for this car. It is the CVT (Transmission) and to replace this we are looking at approx $10,000. Our car has just done 110,000km and the last 2 issues had occurred just prior to the car doing 100,000km. How can we afford these repairs??? Apparently the transmission has been fixed in the newer model but I would steer clear from any new or used Pathfinder. Looks like we have to cut our losses on this piece of crap and get rid of it!! Buyer be aware!!!!Purchased in July 2021 at Nissan Dealers for $54,000.00.

Awesome car for large families
Great vehicle for large families. What we love about this car is easy access to the large boot area. 1 flock of a lever and the rear seats are flat opening up a large boot! We chose the 4Wd option for better handling and mild off road. Handles like a dream and better than the previous model. Fuel economy is on par with all SUV’s. The only negative is boot is not auto and hangs a little low.
Purchased in February 2021.

The only thing I don’t like is the cheap paint and cost of Sat Nav map update.
I have had my 2014 Ti Hybrid Pathfinder for over 4 years now and I’m very happy with it. It’s quiet, runs smoothly, has great pickup from stop, handles the road well and is comfortable. I drive 30km each way to/from work each day in the outer suburbs. I had not had any mechanical or noise problems since I bought the car brand new except after my battery died and the electronics affected my boot from opening and closing automatically, contacted my service centre who reset it at no charge. It gets serviced as per service book.
I love the reverse...Read more

Nice car, if only Nissan crawled from under their rock though
I have a 2018 run out N Sport, it's a nice car with plenty of room. Ample power for a front wheeled drive car but it also uses plenty of fuel to support it.
But... Nissan, why the hell do you make a car with no digital speedo when the law thinks I'm a mass murderer for doing 3ks over the speed limit?? And why do I get a beautiful sounding 13 speaker Bose stereo and then the controls/ Facia to support it are rubbish? Android and Apple car play are not that hard! Such a let down.
I'm not a fan of CVT at all, and this one is no exception.
But I do love being able to pile the family in and travel in comfort and the access to the rear is great!

Fantastic family car
I am driving pathfinder for almost 3 years since 2016, had no issue at all, it's a fantastic suv for family. As it is a big suv, over 5m length, cabin is super roomy. Easy access to the 3rd row while boosters are attached on the 2nd rows is one of the best thing that I like on this car. (the booster needs to be attached with isofix) It has tow mode which helps towing a heavy van. (max 2700kg) Driving, especially steering is also excellent. (I feel it's even nicer than my sedan)
Wish to have its interior up to date fashion, looks like a bit old design, but that doesn't really matter for the purpose of family suv. So I give 5 stars.

The car is great but the amenities don't function well.
This is our business car and I bought it over others because of its ability to utilitze hands free bluetooth, autostart, and sirius radio. The bluetooth prints out a choice when you speak someones name, so when I say "call Jane Smith mobile" there is a read out that gives me Jane Smith, home, office and mobile and then I have to use the touch screen, which takes my eyes off the road. The voice text messaging is terrible. They give you 10 standard messages to choose from, which are useless. It would be nice to be able to say "text message to...Read more
Jane Smith...I will meet you in front", but it doesn't allow that, so its not only not handsfree, its not an option at all. The auto start doesn't work unless you are actually walking to your car, at which point its really not necessary. The sirius radio stations disappear frequently. I have set my stations 3 different times since I purchased the car in June. Lastly, there is a crash warning light that goes off whenever I turn a corner, whether there is anyone in front of me or not. I went out to the dealership and was told by the trainer that there is nothing they can do about these things.....would have been nice to know prior to my purchase....my advice...be specific in your expectations prior to buying....I asked about handsfree texting and phone, and was told that it had that option, but not that there were pre set text messages and that voice calling would require a touch screen choice. However, as a car...it's wonderful. Rides nice, plenty of room....side mirror are huge, so that's something to get used to.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Nice car shame about the tailgate
I'm lucky enough to get a Nissan Pathfinder STL for a company car, as far as a large SUV go I can't really fault it except for the following;
Tailgate doesn't lift high enough (I'm 6''2 and bang my head without fail) why build such a big car and make the tailgate so low?
Car should come standard with 20inch rims .. 18s look crap on such a big car.
Interior dates so fast, nice at first but soon becomes ho hum.
no Apple car play ... wow it's 2018.
12v power underneath stupid storage under HVAC controls, good luck with that.

So happy I upgraded
I have a very tall husband, 2 young children and a large dog.
I upgraded from 2013 Nissan Dualis which I loved however it was just not big enough after our 2nd child. We use this car as the family car.
Pros
- second row of seats can move forward and back which gives more leg room for passengers and also more room for front passenger when rear facing carseats are installed
- isofix points for carseat
- birdseye camera over entire vehicle makes parking so easy (st-l and ti models only)
- drivers seat adjusts in so many ways. I am very ...Read more

Best car I’ve ever owned!
There is nothing I don’t love about this car. It is quiet, roomy and plenty of boot space (including under floor storage) even with 3rd row seating in place. Drivers seat feels like you’re sitting in a lounge chair. Lot’s of extra features included. Does cost a bit to fill with petrol (unless it’s diesel) but gets so many Km’s on open road.

Good car
We upgraded from a hatchback to this super spacious SUV. Though it doesn't have the power or stability of a BMW which we owned earlier this is a decent SUV with all the features you dont get on a top tier SUV like rovers. The interiors are super luxurious and the tech is great with the dual screen on the back seats, very good to keep toddlers/young kids happy.

A mixed review
There has been lots to love about the 2014 ST-L Pathfinder. Its incredibly roomy and comfortable, lots of features that ensure the whole family is happy, and easy to drive with the surround camera and powerful engine which is quiet and smooth.
BUT the tyres wear super fast, city driving consistently only getting 410km a tank, at 55,000 all brake pads were shot, rear shock absorbers need replacing, front strut in need of replacing (not so quiet over bumps any more!), CVT was replaces under warranty, I'm still not convinced it's right. Car is 2W...Read more

Nissan Pathfinder R52 Series 2 - Brilliant
I recently purchased a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Series 2. I find it to have an outstanding amount of power, excellent handling, heaps of features and the most interior room to accommodate a family. It is truly a 7 adult seater.
I purchased the ST model, for a base model vehicle it's far from standard. It's more of a mid spec car, the options include an 8" touch screen, tyre monitoring system, fuel management system, fully ducted air conditioning to all 3 rows, push button start, electric fold-in side mirrors, electric drivers seat, a very at...Read more

Love it!
I traded my 2014 Toyota (Tractor) Prado in for this beast!
I love it!
Jamb packed full of features! Plenty of power and so, so comfortable!
The family loves it too; we recently had a holiday trip from Melbourne to the Gold Coast, it was a dream for all! Skylight and Moonroof are awesome! The kids love the rear video screens where we can have a DVD on controlled by us in the front or you can plus a USB in the rear.
The radar protective cruise control is something you quickly adapt too. I tested it out and couldn’t believe it; driving up to a...Read more

2015 Extreamly unhappy
For the first 5 months very comforting I was loving everything about it, until suddenly everything started going down hill. I feel so unsafe driving in it with my children. To sum it up" the car is highly unreliable!" Further I bought the venicle new, and made sure I kept up with maintenance with the Nissan dealer. It is now 2.5 years since I have the vehicle and its gone through many major breakdowns: it failed battery test right after 5 months of owning it, after 1 year the transmission failed, exactly 3 months after the Radeator went, and 1....Read more
5 months after which is now April 2018 the Mass Airflow censor in the engine went, and as a result I dont experience it to be good on gas because there is always something major happening with the engine. I am so upset with the service of the car, I dont believe that this model car was made properly and need's to be revisited and finish making.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best Car EVER
The drive it perfect, vehicle is a little heavy but with that much weight im not surprised.
It is a silent car, very spacious, can easily sit 7 adults even the last 2 seats, lots of legroom and i love that the middle seats move back and forward for comfort.
It cost me around $80 to $100 for a fuel tank of 98 petrol. Just depends on the price and it last me at least 10 days and i travel 50km Monday to Friday.

Best car I've ever owned
More room and nicer trim than the X-Trail. I got the ST-L version with addon pack giving many extras including Bose sound system with 13 speakers. It's very quiet and I won't ever be able to drive a car without surround cameras again. The only downside is the unusual tyres which seem to be in limited stock at most places.
