Awesome car for large families
Great vehicle for large families. What we love about this car is easy access to the large boot area. 1 flock of a lever and the rear seats are flat opening up a large boot! We chose the 4Wd option for better handling and mild off road. Handles like a dream and better than the previous model. Fuel economy is on par with all SUV’s. The only negative is boot is not auto and hangs a little low.
Purchased in February 2021.

The car is great but the amenities don't function well.
This is our business car and I bought it over others because of its ability to utilitze hands free bluetooth, autostart, and sirius radio. The bluetooth prints out a choice when you speak someones name, so when I say "call Jane Smith mobile" there is a read out that gives me Jane Smith, home, office and mobile and then I have to use the touch screen, which takes my eyes off the road. The voice text messaging is terrible. They give you 10 standard messages to choose from, which are useless. It would be nice to be able to say "text message to...Read more
Jane Smith...I will meet you in front", but it doesn't allow that, so its not only not handsfree, its not an option at all. The auto start doesn't work unless you are actually walking to your car, at which point its really not necessary. The sirius radio stations disappear frequently. I have set my stations 3 different times since I purchased the car in June. Lastly, there is a crash warning light that goes off whenever I turn a corner, whether there is anyone in front of me or not. I went out to the dealership and was told by the trainer that there is nothing they can do about these things.....would have been nice to know prior to my purchase....my advice...be specific in your expectations prior to buying....I asked about handsfree texting and phone, and was told that it had that option, but not that there were pre set text messages and that voice calling would require a touch screen choice. However, as a car...it's wonderful. Rides nice, plenty of room....side mirror are huge, so that's something to get used to.

Great car, use it for towing heavy loads.. no issues!
This car has really impressed me, with its huge volume of space inside, great seating features, 3 zone climate control, 360 birds eye view helps me see all around the vehicle especially for kids and moving in tight car parks. Have towed over a dozen loads of 2 tons of soil plus double axle trailer with no problems. The CVT actually increases the speed of the vehicle whilst the revs decrease even when climbing hills.... absolutely stunning! Even with all the hard work, we still get 400kms to a tank when towing! I also have an R51 diesel ...Read more
turbo manual, which can tow these loads but its not an automatic. Sure, the sat nav is out of date but its only really used 5% of the time. I bought the ST-L for the 360 camera, 2x glass roofs, and it is capable of towing large loads. The hill hold is great too, and helps with towing heavy loads. The car tyres doesn't last over 30'000 kms but when you consider the size and weight (2,100kgs) but handles well in the wet which I think is more critical than tyre wear. The central locking can be set to either open all doors at once, or for security, the front door which is closest to the key, then all other doors. I also understand that the new Nissan Navara LED Daytime running lights, can be retro-fitted into the R52 fog light housing. This is one feature I would like Nissan to offer as a spare part kit. I asked Toyota about the Kluger's towing, and they said "buy the Nissan"! Looking for a comfortable 7 seater SUV with tri-zone air conditioning (driver, passenger, and 2nd+3rd row seats)? Pathfinder all the way. July 5th 2017 Update: 3 Years and 48,000 kms.... all good ! Well 3 years on.... all good! Loads of space for all the gang ! Use the 4x camera top view to park in tight car park spaces to make sure I'm centred. The CVT drives smooth, and plenty of power when towing heavy loads of soil and landscaping materials. Not many 7 seater SUVs this luxurious with a 2,700kg towing limit. Love the heated seats and Triple zone air-conditioning with vents to all 7 seats. Not like CX9 !Similar opinion? So far so good - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
We have the 2014 Pathfinder STL 4WD (7 seater), it's done close to 10,000km thus far and have not had any issues. Great sized vehicle for the family (we have 3 kids) and plenty of room in the boot. I've read about the issues, but thus far no problems. Will update if we have any dramas, but again, so far so good (touch wood).
Petrol consumption is actually better than our 2010 Murano we used to own and we do a lot of driving around town.
UPDATE 28/1/2016 - I thought I'd submit an update as to how the car is performing.

've found out, this is certainly not a beach 4WD, Rough hard terrain, no dramas, soft sand, absolutely not. We got stuck on a beach in the middle of South Australia. With the Pathfinders safety features (traction/stability control, hill start assist etc) the wheels would just simply not turn at all in the softer sand. Once we came to a halt, that was it, it did not want to move. It just made these juddering movements forward and back digging us in. It took about 10 minutes of slightly moving forward and backwards (backwards you're not supposed to use in 4WD I later found out) to get the thing out. It was actually very sketchy, as the tide was coming in and the kids in the back were crying thinking we were going to drown - little did they know they could have walked up and down the beach 10 times and the water would still not be at the back wheel. Apart from the above bit of advice, the car is still running well. My wife mentioned she feels an occasional shudder when slowing up hills - I must admit I've never experienced this though. Still very happy with the purchase and would recommend. Just don't go thinking you can cruise along the beach, hard sand yes....softer stuff no!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
