Great car and 4x4
We bought our R51 Pathfinder second hand over a year ago. We bought it due to the roomy boot, it's 4x4 capabilities for our bush camping trips, and the fact that it is very easy to setup the back row seats in order to make it a 7 seater. (even I fit in the 3rd row and I'm not short!)
We have so much room in the boot, and in combination with the roof racks we can go bush camping off the car. It's a great tow vehicle. We have towed camper trailers with it with no problem at all.
We've had it serviced regularly and had no mechanical issues. T...Read more

Love it!
I traded my 2014 Toyota (Tractor) Prado in for this beast!
I love it!
Jamb packed full of features! Plenty of power and so, so comfortable!
The family loves it too; we recently had a holiday trip from Melbourne to the Gold Coast, it was a dream for all! Skylight and Moonroof are awesome! The kids love the rear video screens where we can have a DVD on controlled by us in the front or you can plus a USB in the rear.
The radar protective cruise control is something you quickly adapt too. I tested it out and couldn’t believe it; driving up to a...Read more

2015 Extreamly unhappy
For the first 5 months very comforting I was loving everything about it, until suddenly everything started going down hill. I feel so unsafe driving in it with my children. To sum it up" the car is highly unreliable!" Further I bought the venicle new, and made sure I kept up with maintenance with the Nissan dealer. It is now 2.5 years since I have the vehicle and its gone through many major breakdowns: it failed battery test right after 5 months of owning it, after 1 year the transmission failed, exactly 3 months after the Radeator went, and 1....Read more
5 months after which is now April 2018 the Mass Airflow censor in the engine went, and as a result I dont experience it to be good on gas because there is always something major happening with the engine. I am so upset with the service of the car, I dont believe that this model car was made properly and need's to be revisited and finish making.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great car overall
Ti Diesel 2009 - I'm the 2nd owner and it has been very reliable.
Pluses:
- Tough looks with square lines and large flared guards
- Driveability
- Specs
- Cabin space (seats up to 7)
- One of the few 4wd's that when 2nd and third row seats are folded down, you get a completely flat and huge boot space which is so versatile when transporting goods, camping etc
Minuses: ...Read more
- Fuel economy (only if driving short hilly trips in traffic) - Turning circle is large for city driving Has been fully serviced by Nissan from new which has helped with it's reliability. The car has only been offroad a couple of times on dirt tracks and it performed well using both high and low 4wd.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best Car EVER
The drive it perfect, vehicle is a little heavy but with that much weight im not surprised.
It is a silent car, very spacious, can easily sit 7 adults even the last 2 seats, lots of legroom and i love that the middle seats move back and forward for comfort.
It cost me around $80 to $100 for a fuel tank of 98 petrol. Just depends on the price and it last me at least 10 days and i travel 50km Monday to Friday.

Best car I've ever owned
More room and nicer trim than the X-Trail. I got the ST-L version with addon pack giving many extras including Bose sound system with 13 speakers. It's very quiet and I won't ever be able to drive a car without surround cameras again. The only downside is the unusual tyres which seem to be in limited stock at most places.

Perfect Family Car
I really love the quiet whilst driving. 7 adult seats up and still plenty of boot space we are a family of 5. Downsize is fuel consumption but other than that perfect family car. Getting about 550km to a tank. Would like the time accessible whilst navi is on. Love,Love,Love
Purchased in January 2021 for $60,000.00.

Great car
We have replaced our good old Explorer with this car after it finally stopped working. The repair was to expensive to keep it. Obviously, coming from the real 4wd we didn't expect much of this car in terms of its off road performance. Luckily, we don't do any off road trips now, so a real 4wd was not required for us.
When we considered the suv we tested a CX9, a Ford Everest, an Isuzu MU-x. The Pathfinder had the best leg room for the third row passengers of all these cars. The next comparable car was the CX9, but it is 10 cm longer than the ...Read more

Perfect family car
Drives very smoothly, good performance, handles well, spacious, very reliable and quit engine with lots of extras, enterrior is nice and comfortable. Not all models come with navigation system phone connectivity not very reliable with android. However, very recommended family seven seater family car. However boot is not big if you decide to use the back foldable seats.

Excellent practical design
Incredible practically with rear hatch opening options. Very quiet and comfortable. Looks great 14 year old 2003 model. Only negatives are rear drum brakes and thirsty underpowered V6. Low first gear is good for off road and traffic light wins but lacks top end grunt. My perfect version will have a disc brake rear end and turbo diesel. Would like to convert this car and keep it for towing van around Australia. Love the interior design too. I can camp in it too. Overall love the Pathfinder R50. But not the later models. I did previously by a new one in 2002 and always missed it once sold . Happy now I have another one.

Nice comfy car
Ww recently bought a pathfinder, it's a big comfortable car. The boot with all the 7 seats up is quite small so not ideal for prams or a big grocery shop, car is also heavy on fuel consumption. Dash catches dust like nothing else, as does the carpet, it just never seems to stay clean for long. But other than that the car is pretty good.

Good Family Car
This is great with the video players in the back for the kids. Has power to get you out of trouble if you need it. Lots of space. Just needs a back window to open to fit bikes in other wise its perfect. My favourite part is having quiet kids in the back while im driving :)

Plenty of Room
Never thought I would own a Nissan as I have always prefered European cars. Although the Pathfinder doesn't have some of the gimmicks like Infotainment it more than makes with comfort and easy driveability.
There is plenty of room for 4 adults and up to 3 little ones. The kids love the rear air-con and the sun roof of course.

Good decision
Bought the vehicle brand new late 2015 and have racked up over 70,000 un-troubled, extremely comfortable, K's in 18 months. Good on fuel and has power to burn when needed. Tows a 2300 kg caravan with ease and still gets good consumption figures.Would recommend for those who want 4WD when necessary but still have the look of a car not a cumbersome bigger sized vehicle.....

Perfect family car
It is perfect family car and it is a really a good driving experience . The seven seater has enough leg room at the back and the Bose speakers are really neat. The only downside is the fuel consumption. the TO model has all features included and it is value for money at the price advertised.

A great car for a medium size family
We bought this car brand new and loved it. Its a roomy car which is extremely comfortable to travel in (so those long trips are very tolerable!). The handling is excellent. We love the Push Button start and my wife in particular loves the keyless entry as she no longer needs to find her keys in her handbag to get into the car :)
We have 3 kids under 10 - in this car, we can fit 7 adults very comfortably. Our model has the leather seats which are wonderful. We also have the rear camera and parking assist which is a godsend in a car this big.

Looking at purchasing a 2006 petrol Pathfinder. Is there any dramas with the petrol motor? And any other problems I should know about.
1 answer
Sorry, can’t answer your question as my pathfinder is not that old and mine is a hybrid. My car is nearly 5 years old and the only problem I have had was when we returned from holidays and my battery was flat, that affected the electronics a bit but it was still drivable and Nissan reset the problem free of charge.
