I agree - they do not live up to the hype
I am a long time tinnitus sufferer and hoped that they would help to mask the sound but, if anything, they add to my problem. When I wear them when out walking they pick up and amplify the sound of the wind . Also No matter which bud tip I use I cannot get them to stay in my ears - I have already lost one of the buds as a result.
However as far as service goes I would rate Nuheara 5 stars. Their staff is prompt and efficient and a pleasure to deal with.

My first "true wireless earbuds" and certainly not the last.
Previously I detested having buds jammed into my ears but the IQbuds' Comply T-160 tips changed that. While excellent (comfortable and isolating), the tips don't last very long and I only received a pair of them which cannot be purchased anywhere in Australia. The silicon tips (both the round and oval ones provided) are somewhat better than those that come with the typical earbuds but don't provide a good fit and irritate my ear canal.
With the Comply tips, passive noise isolation is good and the sound quality excellent. I find the ability to ...Read more

Great disappointment
I bought the IQ buds so that I could hear conversations in restaurants and other noisy venues as they were touted to be very good at ameliorating "pub deafness". Sadly there were ineffective and not very useful (if at all) in achieving better understanding of speech.

I cant get to first base...
I guess I m just too old to set the IQ Boosts up. I bought them because I was having trouble hearing at the theatre and at some restaurants. It might have helped had there been a user manual of the traditional kind.

IqBuds boost hurt my ear no Nuheara is making me pay
I bought these purely to listen to music. Straight of the box they would not hold a bluetooth connection across numerous devices including DAPs and phones the stuttering connection meant that i would adjust the volume so that when the buds did connect the volume up too loud causing my tinnitus to spike as a result. I have just sent them back for a refund and have been charged a restocking fee. I didn't change my mind, they didn't work as advertised in my opinion and may have furthered the damage to my ears. This charge is an insult to me and...Read more
to those living with tinnitus, who are ever vigilant in our search for aides that will give us some relief and control back in our life. I though the Iqbuds boost may be one of these aides, they weren't, instead they harmed me yet it is me who is financially out of pocket. I paid $399 and was refunded $379 so if you pay full price you'll be charged roughly double that if, like me, you feel that the buds are sub par and do not benefit you in the slightest in regards to tinnitus and the hearing loss it is indicative of. My one star review is given to Nuheara as a company and their arrogance shown towards me in the charging of a restocking fee which suggests that it me that is defective and not the devices they spruik.Similar opinion? Buyer beware
Got these as a birthday present so by the time I got to use them the 30 day guarantee had expired. Complained about the fact that all they did for me was make everything quieter, that if you accidentally brush the bud when your trying to tap it you get an earsplitting sound and that when I left them in their charging case for a coupe of days that all of a sudden they started to emit a feedback interference noise. Their response was to tell me its user error and send me a guide.
I gave them a really good trial, used them at a pub during a trivi...Read more
a night and rather than isolate songs everything just got quieter and tiinny sounding. Tried them when walking down a busy street, tried them in the gym. I tried all default settings, made late of custom adjustments and the only thing I did notice different was that it amplified bird noises. Pretty much the opposite of what I bought them for which was to reduce background noise.Purchased in August 2021 at Nuheara for $230.00.

Disappointment
Patchy from the get go . Mediocre performance so shelved them for maybe a year and then tried again but not able to reconnect with new phone.. real disappointment to me. Beware of performance promises and now doubt product ability. Out of warranty so replacing with another brand as trust is not there

A stupid, expensive, cheaply made toy.
The only noise canceling they provide is by blocking your ear with the bud itself, like an ear plug. The batteries do not last 16 hours as advertised, more like 6....at a push. They scream high pitch noise at you if anything goes near the Mic. Go buy some cheaper version off eBay they will do the same thing
Purchased for $300.00.

I am amazed by these ear buds - Please Read.
I've had NIL and genetic hearing loss for over 20 years. I reluctantly went for a hearing test about 10 years ago and was fitted with an NHS hearing aid only on 1 side. Ever since I had it fitted, I've never really used it, it really irritated my ear canal and was incredibly uncomfortable for more than about an hour. It went into a drawer and never came out and I carried on. Just recently I decided that I really couldn't carry on as my hearing had got that bad but simply refused to pay through the nose for £3000 hearing aids, mostly because the...Read more
ones I'd tried on the high street lacked the fidelity of sound I needed and being a musician, the sound quality was critical. The hearing aid I had made everything sound like an awful transistor radio. So I spent about a week researching these things and deiced it was either the Bose or Nuheara. The Bose ones had this daft neck ring which I thought was the most odd looking thing ever and whilst these were big, the fact that everyone has ear buds now made it more acceptable and less stigmatised even than regular hearing aids. So they arrived and I immediately set to work customising them via the Ear ID thing that I'd read about, I knew you had to put a bit of time into setting them up. This was straight forward and whilst not maybe as long as a regular audiology test, it was the same in terms of pumping sounds through headphones and you pressing a button when you hear something. People say this isn't a clinical test but I'm sure the method is absolutely identical and maybe the actual audiologists just want to hang onto some exclusivity. So all set and then I spent a bit of time reading the online manual and getting familiar with the gestures you can use. I have the sony MDR noise cancelling headphones and they work in a similar way so it wasn't long before I could use them properly. First impressions were great. The worst thing about my actual hearing aid is that it sounds awful. Music is frankly [crap] and the fact that only one ear is boosted means it's lopsided and awful. These were immediately better, full range sound was what I wanted and what I got. I was stunned at how much I could hear but it wasn't just a volume boost, it was the missing frequencies that were restored - another thing hugely important to me. I quickly tried them out in a variety of setting but the thing that has massively impressed me is that they work as headphones and still keep the ability to have the outside sound coming through over the top. I don't remember this being on the blurb but I would have bought them for this alone. Using a single hearing aid with headphones is a joke. It constantly whistles and the lopsidedness again just kills any pleasure you may get. The sound from my iMac, phone and tablet is stunning and the fact that you can customise it further is just brilliant again and of course you can cut the outside world off from your listening experience too, so many options, it already slaughtered the hearing aid! So what about the occlusion effect? OK, so it is noticeable however I've had a kind of occlusion effect going on for years where the boomy head voice already overtakes my regular hearing so it wasn't a shock or a distraction. The fact that the high frequencies cut through and I could actually hear were enough for me to forgive the occlusion effect which also isn't huge IMO. The other thing that worried me was comfort, as mentioned the regular aid just killed me for any length of time and left my ear itching for hours afterwards. I've had these in for hours and not noticed them. I don't know if it's the material or what but there is a much larger thing in contact with my ear canal than the aid but it's somehow not as uncomfortable. There is also soft sponge and rubber and I'm not sure if the rubber is worse but I tried the sponge - swapping the pre-installed medium for small - and they just worked fine so I haven't given the others a go yet. Overall I'm over the moon with this purchase, these guys have got it totally right and even as regular earbuds the sound quality is off the scale good. Far better than any headphones I have even the Sony's which were nearly £500, £150 more than these buds and they offer far more flexibility and the fact that my hearing is almost back to normal can't have a price on it (OK maybe it doesn't stretch to 3 grand hearing aids!) I'd be happy to speak to anyone who wants more info about these but take it from a guy whose been looking a long time for a decent solution, these things are absolutely brilliant and I couldn't be happier right now. One gripe I do have though is that outside in the wind they have been intermittently cutting out. I don't know whether this is some protection thing but again it's better than a regular aid which I could never wear outside even if there were a gentle breeze blowing. I'm talking to the company now about this so maybe an update. Contact me at kenny.s.evans 'at' gmail dot com if you want to ask a question, I'm not a salesman!Purchased in July 2021 for $350.00.

Very poor build quality
Was excited to support an Australian company - bought these 2 years ago. About 11 months into their usage the rubber around both ear pieces coming away.
Spoke to Nuheara and had them replaced. Replacement ones had a fault where one earpiece wouldn't work. Replaced again.
new ones worked for 12 months then the same rubber issue started to happen, then got worst. Contacted Nuheara, as they were at their 14 month mark, outside the replacement pair's warranty period they refused to replace.
Today the left earpiece fell apart in my ear -
I am very light handed with all my electronic devices - I have headphones and other ear buds that are 5-10 years old and still look like new - these are just very poor build quality.

My son has been self conscious about his hearing aids in some cases refusing to wear them to school but now wears these is buds with pride, great battery life, a app to tune them in and he has improved his grades. Definitely worth the investment thanks from the atwell family and a special thanks from my son.

Rubbish, returned for refund less 5% restocking fee
Ear buds wouldn’t Initially charge and then only once. They wanted me to send them back for repair. I brought them to hear vocals on TV movies but for me they didn’t help. Couldn’t charge them again so returned them for a refund. They refunded amount less 5% restocking fee. Hope you don’t get them.

Terrible
They were not as good as promoted and one ear piece stopped working just after the warranty ran out and a replacement piece cost $220 when the whole new thing is $299. They are not worth the money at all. They do the same job as normal wireless head phones.

wow -- don't buy-- bait and switch order
Ordered right boost ear bud for husband and received alternate product not wanted. Only ordered one per website and now they tell me they can not fill just one. We also were charged an international fee of $9.00 as well from BOA.
Too confusing with them-don't know if they can not read for fulfilling order. Now waiting for a self addressed label for return. Still also waiting for a charge before I do it myself.
Be aware of the bait and switch with them. So disappointed - not what is advertised.

Perfect
Bought these for my farther who is hard of hearing and dislikes using headphones that have wires or blocks out his surrounding. He uses them all the time, he can hear when someone is talking to him, while listening to an audio book or music. Also enhances his hearing so he can hear better.

2 year battery lifespan inadequate
NuheRa have told me (after probing questions) that the internal bud batteries only have a circa / year life. After they die they can’t be replaced. Only option is to buy the pack again! This is not openly disclosed by Nuheara and is a bit of a dealbreaker. Wasn’t expecting to have to toss and rebuy in such a short span.

Terrible Product!!!
Purchased few days ago and item turned up in 2 days. Amazing dispatch speed. But turns out left ear piece doesn’t function or charging right out of the box.
Supplied the feedback to customer service and arrange a replacement. Unfortunately the return sticker never show up.
Very disappointing quality control.

how do I turn the IQBuds to hear the conversation, Andrew
No answers
SteveLasked
Hi,
I hope this is not a silly question - if I don't have my phone with me, or it is out of range, does the sound enhancement still work but I would just not be able to make setting changes? Or do they not work at all in this situation?
Thanks,
Steve
1 answer
Hi Steve, the buds operate in the world off/on mode (sound enhancement) independent of your mobile phone or Bluetooth device. If you have selected the world off/on and environmental settings on the earpiece, that would be the only sound enhancement adjustments possible without having your device at hand.
I've preordered the IQbuds 2 Max and look forward to using its more advanced functionality.

I would try a different cord, some are for charging others for data plus charging. Your usb port on your laptop may be faulty, mine had that issue.
