The best!
I had the biggest cold sore that I had ever experienced (I get them 2-3 a year). So, I tried this for the first time and wow! My cold sore that took up half my bottom lip was gone in 4 days! Incredible. I wish I had this when I was in high school!

Far too runny!
It's a while since I bought this product because the little tube lasts a long time. When I opened the new tube I thought something was wrong with it! It was so runny it poured out of the tube! I put the cap on and shook it (I could hear it sloshing like water in a bottle) but it didn't thicken up.
It spreads everywhere and doesn't stay where it's needed so I have to apply it often. It has calmed the cold sore but I apply this stuff about every 30 minutes because I don't feel it stays on my lips.
It's just not practical. It needs to be a thicker cream.

Waste of money
I purchased this in the 5G tube from Woolworths today. It was so runny that you could pour it out of the tube. The package said it was supposed to be a cream. It’s unusable.

The formula has changed!
I've bought this product regularly for many, many years, not for cold sores but because I get terrible hay fever and this product would soothe my red, sore nostrils and burning lips like nothing else.
I bought a tube last week and not only has the volume of product changed, BUT the price hasn't, the formula has changed as well. It is watery and not creamy and thicker like it used to be, the taste is foul and where has the menthol gone?? I'm very disappointed and won't be purchasing this again.
Edited to add: Ah ha! I see from reading further...
Read more reviews that Nyal actually have TWO versions of this! The antiviral one was what I bought, not realising that the one I usually purchase is the 10g tube, which is not the one labelled Anti Viral. Thank goodness it's still made! I'm off to buy the real deal at Chemist Warehouse.Purchased in at Woolworths Online store.

Questions & Answers
I had lip filler can I use Antal cold sore cream
Have been using Nyal Cold Sore Cream for more years than I care to remember. Use the cream to prevent my lips from drying out and cracking and is the only product I can use without breaking out in cold sores.
However recently have noticed the cream is lucky to stay on my lips for more than a few minutes.
Has the recipe changed?
Has something been added?
Please bring back the cream which stays on my lips longer.
Or at least tell me where I can get it.
Thanks.
