Waste of money

published

My mum has had her carpet sweeper for years and does a good job so I thought I would get one. Bought this sweeper and it is a complete waste of space. Due to poor design, after using it for a while the two pieces of metal that attaches to the sides of the sweeper bows, so all the mechanism falls out of the bottom. This is a completely useless sweeper do not buy.
Nil
Completely useless, inferior design and quality.

Carpet Sweeper Disappointment

published

I used to have carpet sweepers and they were good when working. Old one fell apart so got another one. When I bought This one from supermarket at good price, I put it to use and it failed after few minutes. Roller cogs didn't engage so it was a waste of time pushing this unit. Wouldn't buy this design again.
Price.
Mechanical failure meant that rollers didn't engage so, brush wasn't turning to do its job.

Oats Carpet Sweeper

Fantastic product, I inherited this from my mother last year. I live in a three story home. Purchased a second one early this year for downstairs and then realised it's about 9 months since I've used a vacuum cleaner because it's just so easy to pull out the carpet sweeper. Just going to purchase a third one for the rug at the front door on the top level! So now I won't have to carry this lightweight sweeper up or down any stairs at all and it just sits in a hall cupboard. And, I have a dog with fluffy hair.
incredibly effective, enegery efficient, quick, lightweight.

Excellent Carpet Sweeper

I brought one of these off ebay recently. It was affordable, it works like a charm, and since it uses no electricity it is pretty energy efficient too :)
The dustpan space holds a fair amount. I have a large house and a few indoor pets and I usually only have to empty it twice for the entire house (once half way through, once at the end). It has picked up a surprising amount of detritus and dirt (first time it picked up heaps of hair and other bits and pieces and I had washed my carpets three days before).
It is light and easy to use, plus no cords means it is less fiddly which makes it pretty quick to get my whole house done :)
Energy Efficiant, Inexpensive, Effective, Easy to use

how do I clean the bristles and brushes as hair and dust clogs around the ends. Can it be pulled apart?

It's very easy. the bracket at the end of the handle will pull out of the sweeper on one side. This releases the roller. If there is lots of hair it might be easier to use scissors to cut it away and then it's easy to wash/get rid of the fluff. (It might release on either side/i.e two sides but I only pull side of the bracket out, the roller then slips out, so if it doesn't come out try the other side.)

Hi, I have used these type of sweepers and over the years, quality have gone down the hill. This particular item was cheaply assembled and it felt very flimsy if you know what I mean. Its obvious that you pay for what you get and if you buy from supermarket, you will get cheap items that will not live up to your expectation. Handle on this item is 2 pieces that you have to screw on like most of them. I wouldn't waste time or money on this item. Have wonderful New Year!
