    Love it

    published

Bought one for my father last year and wish we had bought one sooner. He is 85 and this unit is great for cooling his lounge/dining and bedroom. Not very noisy at all and my husband installed it in 5 minutes. It is also a lot lighter than it looks so easy for him to move if he needs to clean around it.

Purchased on a day where temperature reached 41!

We have finally decided enough is enough. We can say goodbye to Eating dinner and sweating in our food.
I researched several examples of portable air conditioning units. I was concerned about paying to little and not getting an effective unit.
This air conditioner seemed in the mid range price wise and we managed to get a very good second hand unit.
Installation was simple and although i have seen a few reviews about the noise level we are very happy with how little noise it produces. When the condenser comes on it produces slightly more noise but individuals comparing this air conditioner to an old window rattler need to come back to reality.
We are very happy with ours so far.

This really is the perfect Air Con

    published

Very Quiet compared to previous models I've had. About 2 years old and we crank it up on 21c all summer has never faulted, chills a large bedroom easy, with the door open it keeps the house comfortable. Never had to empty the self consuming water tank. (I think it evaporates out of the exhaust) Highly recommended.

    Very effective for a portable

We recently bought the 4.7kw from Good Guys and got the price down from $849 to $769 so very happy with that. I'm delighted with how it cools our fairly large lounge with poor insulation. We are renting for a while and baked last summer especially after having a split system in the house we sold.
Our main bedroom is off the lounge and by leaving the door open, sufficient air gets in to make it comfortable along with a fan.
We were able to install easily with the window kit making sure there were no gaps and didn't even need to remove the fly screen.
I really recommend if you're looking to cool a lounge room area or large bedroom.

Olympia Splendid Piu, not working after only 3 years

My Olympia Splendid Piu, stopped cooling only after 3 years, I paid 600 dollars for a piece of junk. There is no one to fix it, nobody wants anything to do with it, I am very angry with this A/C.

    Piu 16 a good buy

    published

Reliable, easily moved by a person as has wheels. Cools our huge bedroom which has high roofs & gaps in floorboards! Little noisy but earplugs work & they're all noisy anyway. Def recommend it over all the others & I did a lot of research. A friend who installs fixed air con units also says it's the best of the bunch
Cools quickly & efficiently. Simple to ise
    Nothing, super happy with it

Is this a portable unit that can be moved from room to room
What does it mean when people speak about window kits?

Yes. It is portable with wheels. Large awkward but light enough to move with one person.
IF THE WINDOW TUBING IS STILL ATTACHED 2 PEOPLE IS EASIER.
The window kits are adjustble plastic sheeting that the tubing connects to take the moisture and heat out of the room.

Needed details on draining. How do you drain with that little pipe, last summer it let excess water out, but certain there is more in there. Do you have to programme it or switch it off? My question is how do you let ALL the water out and clean the water tank after summer? Surely you don´t just get rid of excess year after year and nbot clean the whole water tank?

Drain the water by removing the plug. No programming, would recommend to switch off. We empty ours at the end of summer, haven’t had any issues. You do realise that the water in the tank is not circulated in the air so it’s not as though you are breathing in any crap – it’s not an Evaporative cooler. We don’t use the little pipe to drain, just remove the plug (outside of course). If you are concerned about the tank not being fully emptied, I suggest you contact Olimpia direct via their website, sorry I don’t work for the company.
