Faulty Omega Atlise Brigadier Natural Gas Heater

published

Disappointing, purchased product June 2022, product faulty and replaced from supplier (Harvey Norman) replacement also faulty and supplier refused to assist stating that two consecutive products could be faulty. Contacted manufacturer who advised that in fact the product had been fitted with faulty switches and offered to replace faulty switch under warranty, I was required to arrange delivery to their service agent. At this point I had owned the product for less than 1 month. Service agent replaced faulty switch and unit did operate satisfactorily through the remainder of the winter. Come 2020 and the 1st cold snap and the heater refuses to ignite. Brrrr it’s cold.

Purchased in June 2021 at Harvey Norman for $749.00.

Grandfathers heater

published

My grandfather always picked the right heaters to add warmth to an already warm loving home, After he passed away we inherited this heater. This heater reminds me on my child hood, the warmth it throws out is incredible, the crackle of the natural gas is like music to my ears. This heater hasn’t missed a beat, my grandfather purchased circa 2011. Still going strong thanks for making fantastic products that last long

Purchased first heater in June of this year. The ignition button then wouldn’t stay on so had it replaced with a new one in August and now this one is having the same issue.

Faulty Product

Bought this product at Harvey Norman and initially it was working properly. However in the past week the Ignition button does not keep the flame on. Very disappointing as I only got this product 3 weeks ago.

Purchased in August 2021 at Harvey Norman for $750.00.

Great heat when/if it works.

published

We have had the heater for approx 2 weeks it's great when it works but has intermittent lighting issues. We can sometimes get it lit and when we do it switches itself off. The ignition works but lifting your finger off the button makes the flame go out. Quite disappointed for a new product.

Purchased in June 2021 for $715.00.

Ready for retirement

We have had our brigadier for 25 years now, it's had a new starter and flip round of tiles. Been excellent heater, but now it's going to cost $225 for service plus 3 new tiles, that's half the cost of a new fire, if it was $225 for everything would have it done, but feel that's too expensive and will buy a new one with warranty. Same again please.

Whats worse then freezing in your own house? Nothing ! I know right that's why everyone should get one of these cause as soon as I brought one I never turned back! Awesome heating and extremely warm but yes should be cautions around Children as is very hot exactly what we want! So we don't freeze !

Can't start it

published

Starter works fine but when releasing button, goes off. Think the off button stuck on as there is no springiness and knob in a low position all the time. Great and keeps the house warm

published

I am really pleased with this brand and the heater, it gives out a lot of warmth to the house and have not had any problems with it. The Heat selections are sufficient and it heats very quickly. It's easy to use and when it's not in use it does not take a lot of space.

Hot Stuff

published

Recently did our sums for energy costs and decided that gas is cheaper alternative to electricity (even the Air Con) so we looked around for a family size unit, the Everdure brigadier suits our family and lifestyle needing instant heat for our large open plan room, there was some issues with the off controller but that was a simple fix.

Great if you don't have small children

published

Has coils and a metal grate that gets very hot, so not suitable if children are about. Quite large so it warms a large house fast. Nice contemporary colour as well, but not sure how long those push buttons will last. You will need a large space to place it. Not compact.

Excellent heater

published

This is a fantastic heater. I have a large open plan living area which is great to live in but awfully hard to head. The reverse cycle air con was costing a fortune to run but struggling to warm the area. This gas heater was the answer.
Anything which consumes energy is expensive to run thanks to greedy energy suppliers and failing governments however for the amount of heat I get this unit is relatively economical to run.
I have noticed that one of the bottoms is getting a bit stiff in operation but that's after 3 years and I'm pretty sure it's just because I haven't used it since last winter.
Overall I highly recommend this heater if you have a large open indoor area to heat.

Wouldn't be without

published

I bought a Brigadier and a Crusader way back in 1997 for 2 separate gas points. After 20 years of use, they have both never skipped a beat, and heat up my home very efficiently and I love the warm ambience they give. Today's model looks exactly the same, and I would highly recommend.

Did not Buy in the end

published

Was about to purchase but looked at the minimum required room size. This would have precluded us from closing off part of the house. Oxygen levels and exhaust gases require a relatively large minimum sized area (54 sq m I recall). The older replaced heater had had none of these listings - we were perhaps naive. The open element heaters require a larger minimum sized room. It was only by chance we did not buy because it appears to be a very good choice for a large area.
Had found some discounts from RRP.
