Thank heavens my domain is with OntheNet
I've now been with OntheNet for my domain/email for over 10 years and I it has been a wise choice. The only time we notice our provider is when something isn't working properly, and when my emails aren't working it affects my business very quickly. One phone call and I'm talking to a knowledgeable tech within minutes. So far they have always been able to solve my problems pretty much instantly and that saves me time and money. If you're a small business they're a very smart choice.

Great company to deal with. Highly recommend them
Ordered 4th July, connected 28th July. We went for 50/20 Mbps. The support up to installation was excellent. I'm not very tech savvy and the customer service people were really helpful with all of my (sometimes stupid!) questions. We don't use the internet for gaming. Mostly Netflix, movies, music etc. Very happy with speeds. The only problem we have is Stan dropping out all the time but think that's a Stan problem!

Very good service
Once nbn was available in my suburb I decided to leave expensive Telstra to go with a local provider OnTheNet. The order went smoothly, I received the modem within a week, the nbn tech came to install the nbn modem then a 3hours later I got a call from my provider to let me know that I could plug my modem and start using it. I don't think Telstra would have call me about it.
So far the connection has been very reliable with no speed slow down during peak hour.
My VoIP service has been working from day one and onthenet made porting my phone a breeze.
I would definitely recommend onthenet if you leave on the GC and it's good to know that you're talking to a local team base in Robina.

Great service!
I have been with On The Net on the Gold Coast for over 10 years now and have found them to be excellent. Their service is great and they reward loyalty - they look after their customers. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for a reliable service provider.

Flawless
No issues, took about 2 hours from application to when it was ready to use. Have been using it for just over 6 months, always runs at 100mbps. Glad to get what I pay for. Great to speak with a local team also.

Best ISP on the Gold Coast
We've been using with OTN for nearly 20 years in various ways (Dialup, ADSL, EoC, Fibre) and they never disappoint. Excellent service and you get to speak with a real person every time.

Still perfect after 5 years
Coming up to 5 years with onthenet, during this time:
1) Wonderful customer service (fast: ie speak to someone immediately)
2) Internet NEVER once dropped out
3) Internet speeds always great (would drop at night when peak hour traffic - but still allowed HD movies streaming)
The only downpoint is that onthenet does not service all areas yet - however once the NBN rolls out, they will cover more of the gold coast.
We have used TPG, DODO, telstra - these do not come close to onthenet.

Years of good service
As an elderly but avid IT person (75 yo) I swear by these guys. I have not needed their personal touch too often but when you want it, its there.

Definitely not TPG
Having been a customer for 5 years, after months of issues with TPG overselling, their service became pathetic, with timeouts & buffering most days @ the same times.
Add to that non existent [or should I say incompetent] TPG service I decided to go with OnTheNet a local Gold Coast provider.
I had my own VOIP modem router that was new [TPG said I needed this but it made absolutely no difference to their issues or fix anything that was supposedly wrong] so did not take OnTheNet's VOIP service just naked DSL

ay immediately. No more problems! OnTheNet even assisted by using teamviewer to fix the settings on my router to suit my longtime VOIP provider. Well beyond expectations & it is good to get an Aussie on the other end of the phone, that's for sure. Deal locally & provide other deserving locals with work.Similar opinion? Excellent Service
I've had excellent service with onthenet since day dot. They correspond by email quickly and are knowledgeable. No service outages or billing issues, huge download limits. Best ISP I've had to date.

Very poor services
The tech guys don't have a clue what they are doing. You ring for support, they are very rude, and get angry at you if THEY can't come up with a solution to your issues. Connection constantly drops out. This is a far cry from their sister company winshop who are excellent
Poor connection quality, constant drop outs, poor tech support

Excellent service and value
I've been with on the net for 2 years and have nothing but praise on how they respond to difficulties I experience, mainly of my own doing, and the provision of download for the costs involved. I look forward to the day they provide an even faster service via NBN.

Good
After being with this company for 2 years I thought I'd switch to a cheaper provider who offered more download limit for less money. Big mistake! In no time i was back on the phone with OnTheNet requesting to comeback. And this time ill never leave them.
Moral of the story is: if a broadband plan seems to good to be true, it usually is! TPG suck... OntheNet i love you.
Fast speeds, very reliable (only 2 drop outs in 1 year, rectified very quickly) Call centre is locally based with easy to understand operators who are very helpful.
A tad pricier than other providers, but you get what you pay for.

Expensive and poor support
I was seeking a local host company and one that I could phone whenever I had any questions. OnTheNet seemed to fit the bill and I was comfortable with what the sales rep told me I would be getting for my money. I paid for a year in advance and started to get on with setting up my site.
It wasn't long before things started to go wrong. Billing errors, incorrect authentication details and delays (weeks) on support requests. I kept having to ring to follow up on support and was eventually told that I couldn't do what I wanted in contradiction t...Read more
o the sales discussion. Any subsequent attempts to contact them have been ignored. They seem like a bunch of nice guys but it hardly makes up for being out of pocket hundreds of dollars. You can call them. Nice guy, good servers. You have to call them for them to respond. Expensive.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

The pricing you quote for OnTheNet is for the Gold Coast ONLY. Charges outside the Gold Coast are MUCH higher and data allowance is LIMITED.

Is change of email address required when moving to onthenet?
1 answer
Ah, everyone gets burnt by this at one time or another, never use the email account your ISP provides, otherwise switching is a pain (yes you lose it!). Bite the bullet and forgo your current ISP email address and get a public one next time like gmail, hotmail, yahoo etc NOT the ISP email address, or probably unlikely, consider buying your own domain and mail server.
