Oricom Secure 895 baby monitor is absolutely useless and not worth the money you pay!
Video monitor quality is absolutely average and that's about the most useful thing in this product. It does the job - you can see that your child is still in the room but movement lags and view of your child is very blurry.
Onto the parent unit. Firstly, the charger for the parent unit never worked from the moment I took it out of the box. I called Oricom and they sent out a new charger. It's now broken again after three charges. Trying to call Oricom this time has been unsuccessful, put through to voicemail twice after holding for 15mins each...Read more
time. The functions don't work. Even on the lowest setting, my VOX function goes off every 2-5mins saying sound alarm even when the room is empty. Motion setting is also useless because it alternates every other 2-5mins with the sound alarm. So I can't mute the parent unit and rely on motion and sound alarm because it would literally keep me up all night. Instead, I have to keep the volume on for the whole night on low, which plays annoying static noise and I can barely hear when my LO cries. Leaving this on all night obviously then drains the battery. Which you can't charge, because the chargers are faulty. Look elsewhere and save yourself the trouble!
We've had intermittent issues with this product where the receiver just doesn't receive a decent signal from the camera and all we hear is a loud crackling of static.
Stupidly we decided to purchase a second camera seeing as we already had the other one. Well the second camera won't even show a picture...the room is only 4 metres from where we are and we can't even get a signal. Absolute rubbish product and the fact that they are allowed to sell it at that price is a disgrace.
Save your money and look elsewhere. I wish we did.

While I’d still say that the visual component of this baby monitor is unparalleled and absolutely phenomenal for a wriggly kid - I’m sorry to report the audio is abysmal on the parenting unit. It just cuts out willy nilly, mid cry, mid conversation..

Worst Baby Product I Own
This monitor has caused more stress than good. We are already onto our second monitor as the parent screen charger has stopped working. Tonight our new monitor has just stopped charger through the night and the screen has gone flat. Oricom make it very difficult to get a refund or exchange and instead ask questions like are you using the correct charging port and try to make it your fault that the product is faulty.

Don't bother
Monitor has terrible battery life. I feel like I constantly have to plug it in for it to work for a few hours which defeats the purpose of having a monitor if i can't take it with me half the time.
The lullabies barely work for baby to hear. It's also frozen a few times and it's brand new.
Wouldn't bother.

May break, may not...
Device is ok to set up, the sensor pad is excellent - the parent monitor is prone to break, easier to deal with Oricom than with Baby Bunting. A bit complicated to deal with the support line, but they do ring back and work to resolve the issue. I've changed this review because they are doing the right thing by sending me out a new parent unit and battery - warranty good for 3 years. So let's hope this next one works longer than 4 months hey ? $100 per month of use.... sad really... buyer beware is all I'm saying...

Terrible monitor.
Really unhappy with this monitor. Its one of the most expensive monitors on the market but it has to be one of the worst. I bought this monitor a few months before my baby was born so by the time I got to use it last month, it was too late to return it.
The image quality isn't great compared to some other monitors and even if it is daytime, the monitor is black and white instead of colour. The image in colour is blurry as well.

The camera can pan up to the ceiling but doesn't go far enough down so I cant see my baby in the cot with this camera without having to somehow mount it high on an angle which makes it pretty useless. I've been using this monitor for a month now and have had issues where half the time the zoom button doesn't work and sometimes the monitor screen goes black. Really disappointed in this monitor
Really disappointed in this monitor. I have had the monitor for two years. The first time round I needed one replaced under warranty as the screen suddenly turned green after a few months and could not be fixed.
Everything worked fine and then Ive since had my second baby and the monitor freezes on an image regularly or the screen is entirely black. Also the charge lasts less then 5 minutes now. I also have the same issue with the sound and the lullaby being overly loud on the monitor but barely a noise in the babies room. Seems to be problem after problem with this monitor. Will be doing more research to go buy a different brand now!

Rubbish product - camera flicks from black and white to colour even in a fully lit room, lullabies can't be heard through the camera but are ridiculously loud through parent unit, if baby cries the sound is extremely muffled and hard to hear. I've called up and support have sent me a replacement camera which was worse than the first one and then a whole new unit which is equally bad so now they're 'testing' one before they're sending it to see if it's just the design or if there is an issue on my end (which I'm sure there's not).
Bottom line I wish I'd never bought the thing and I'll have to buy a different one before baby goes in his own room.

Great picture and sound quality! Love that I can move the camera around by pressing a button too. Never had any issues with it. Very easy to set up, camera connects to monitor automatically.

We are very disappointed as I have an Oricom Video Monitor that is 11yrs old which I absolutely loved and was hoping to upgrade with this trusted brand again. Not sure if Oricom has dropped the ball on this monitor but clearly we must have bought a dud from a bad batch. Or this type of monitor needs to be removed and reviewed before selling to customers. Going back again tomorrow for money back as we have essentially lost out on the eofy sales, so thanks for that. Clicking noise coming from machine
So disappointing with this monitor. first night using & had to turn off as all we kept hearing was buzzing and clicking sounds. Returning first thing Monday morning. Would not recommend.

Depends on which unit you get from the store
The first Oricom SC895 we purchased was broken - there was no sound and the zoom function did not work. We called Oricom, they were great and gave us a reference number to get it replaced from where we purchased it. The second monitor we got was much better however the sound is still of low quality and is very quiet and muffled. I wish we could turn the sound up further as I have to pay close attention to be able to hear the baby making sounds even when it is on maximum volume. It's possible we got another dud monitor but I cannot be bothered to go through the process of returning it again. The video itself is great, love the night vision and large screen. If the sound was louder I would give the monitor a higher rating.

A perfect sized baby monitor which works amazingly well!
Overall, the unit was super handy and easy to use. I love how the screen comes in a 5" size which is great for those who struggle to see the screen clearly. A big step up from previous models
I've had a few monitors so far and this oricom SC895 has definitely taken baby monitoring to a new level.
Firstly the range is fantastic, and even at the other end of the house while I'm outside putting out the washing it doesn't drop out. Both the audio and picture are crystal clear and the talkback function works a treat.
The thing that really excites me about it though is the auto tracking function. Wow! I've set the monitor up in my little ones play room and wherever she roams, it automatically follows. It's a very neat feature.

was a breeze, pretty much switch it on and go. You can also add more cameras so having one in the nursery and one in the play room works really well. Another thing I love about it is there is no external antenna so there's no chance of breaking it (which I've done with one of my older model oricom monitors). I'm not a huge fan of the "sound alarm" or "movement alarm" as they drown out any noise in the room while they're going but I can see there's a benefit for those who want to use this particular function.Purchased in January 2021.

Like having eyes in the back of my head.
I must say, I am loving this little setup. I have recently moved to a duel storey home meaning most of the time my babies are upstairs and I’m downstairs (because the laundry just never stops). This unit has huge range, and hasn’t dropped out on me anywhere around my house. The picture and audio is surprisingly good, much better than other video monitors I’ve used in the past. I am especially surprised with the night vision, it’s really clear and doesn’t give the babies that creepy demon look that will freak you out at 3am.

Hi. I’ve recently purchased this monitor but am pretty unhappy. Firstly, I have set the VOX up to high, monitor on power saving mode and the manual says the monitor will turn back on when baby cry’s or makes a noise. This does not happen. My son is up the other end of our house and I hear him screaming through the walls and still nothing coming from the monitor. This is a highly frustrating having to leave the monitor on (not in power saving mode) all night in my room just so I can hear my son when he wakes. Secondly, the charger does not work properly. I have to fiddle around with the cord to get it in the right spot to actually charge. Very unhappy with this monitor at the moment. My sister has a few models before this one and has never had any trouble. So why does everyone seem to be having troubles with newer models? Waste of money as I can’t even use it properly.

I have the CU895 baby monitor with the additional camera. I have paired both cameras which work fine, however when i unplug the cable the cameras don’t work.
We had assumed that by pairing and having the antenna at the back the cameras would be portable.

Hi there, my oricom secure 720 monitor has exceptional image quality in the day but if the block out blinds are closed or it’s night the picture is so grainy. This model was given to me because the image was much worse on the previous hardware of the same model and it was and is still in warranty.
