If it was under 2 reds when you started and got up to 2, then it would indicate that connector is ok, and the actual battery pack is faulty. Either way you need to take it back.

Just take it back for a refund. Spend the extra dollars and buy something decent !

Purchased late 2018. Used approximately 10 times at most. Have not used for 8 months. Attempted to charge battery over 10 hour period. Red and green light flashing and according to booklet says faulty battery. Purchased at Bunnings. Approximately how long should the battery last.

Sandra, Just take it back to Bunnings. My Ozito blower only worked about four times before the switch broke. I reckon the warranty would cover the battery (and it could be something else). The people at Bunning, in Wagga, didn't bat an eyelid when my daughter returned my faulty device. Good luck. Ian

Agree. Bunnings will replace it for sure. Li-on battery life if related to number of recharges, not time, So should get thousands of recharges before noticing any problems. That blower is a great unit, so don't be put off by a glitch.

Can I take my faulty Ozito Blower back to another Bunnings ( Batemans Bay), if my daughter sends me her receipt of purchase from Griffith ? The switch broke on about the third use.

Hi Ian. I couldn't answer that specifically as I have nothing to do with Bunnings. But in my experience, it is always possible to take an item back to a different branch of any chain store if you have the receipt. And again, in my experience, Bunnings is right up there when it comes to customer complaints and service. Suggest you confirm it by ringing your Batemans Bay branch.

PS... I contacted Ozito about the faulty switch as in my review. They said they would take it up with their technical dept. I hope they do, because it is a great little unit otherwise.

I have had two of these blowers now but unfortunately both had to be returned for credit due to a failing of the trigger switch which after limited use became difficult to hold the power on due to being intermittent in power delivery.....great little machine apart from this, haven't decided to try for another one or switch to another brand as yet?

I found that not pushing it all the way home before it clicks into place makes it easy to remove and doesn't seem to blow off when in use.

I was looking at getting one for my mum to blow the sand from her driveway as she lives by the beach. Does anyone know if this works well with sand?

Yes, it'd be fine. We have gravel paths beside garden beds. Birds flick mulch onto the gravel & the blower works well blowing the mulch back onto the beds. The same happens on our driveway with birds tossing soil & mulch on it. Sand, mulch, leaves etc on a driveway is easy.

sure does work on light dusting of sand but its not for moving sand dunes etc.

What is the running time for this product before you need to recharge?

From my experience (which is not extensive) - I have two different strength batteries. One lasts for about five mins, but gets a lot done; the other two are for 15 mins which is adequate for me. I have one 5 mins and two 15 mins. Best to have more than one battery, depending on the area you use it on.

How long to charge the battery?

I've got the Power X Charger which charges all of my Ozito tools. I've never timed the battery charging but I think it's about half an hour. I often forget that I've left it plugged in on the bench. I keep 2 batteries fully charged so that if one does run out before I've finished, I've got my spare ready to go. Hope that helps, Doug.

Couple of hours, depending on the size of the battery. Mine came with one 2.0Ah and then I bought two 3.0Ah which came as a package. Larger ones last for about 15 mins which is quite a lot. Still absolutely delighted with my Ozito.

Mine was $119, including charger and one battery. Then bought two larger batteries for $69. Better to buy stronger batteries which last longer.

Is there a secret to depressing the red button to release the blower tube? Neither my hubby or I could even move the red button.

Yes make sure battery is fully pushed into place on the blower is locked in then red button is easy to push

Carolyn53
Carolyn53

Thanks nts but wrong red button, I'm not having any problem starting the blower. I just couldn't remove the tube once I'd completed my work. I received a reply from the company advising the raised red plastic square is not a button at all (despite their own written instructions), it is merely a catch to hold the blower tube in place while being used. They suggested that I use a screwdriver to prise the tube off when finished, so I could pack it away, and this suggestion worked for me.

Do they have to remain plugged in continually, or can you just charge them before use? I bought a cheap brand on line and it wouldn’t work once the battery ran down!

You just charge the battery before use, or even prior to use, I charge my battery after I use it, so the battery is already charged for next time!

Hi everyone. I bought this blower (encouraged by all your good reviews) and have just plugged in the charger and connected the battery to it.
The green light is flashing on the charger, but a red light has not come on as mentioned in the directions.
Maybe I connected the battery too soon, or I'm being impatient. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Green means fully charged remove from charger press button on battery if 3 red light up its perfect then u can insert in the blower and enjoy blowing

sydneymidge

Thank you for your reply. It is up and running now since I discovered I needed to press the red button to show the red lights. I don't think the instructions say that but perhaps I missed it.
It seems to work ok, but I wish I could lock the starter so that I don't accidentally start the blower when handling. Even cheap hair dryers have an off/on functions. Perhaps I'm expecting too much of a 'cheap' item.

Hi. Do they include the battery? I see 2 types on Bunnings website, one for about $100 and the other for $69. The cheaper one says battery and charger have to be purchased separately.
Thank you.

Hi from what I recall the cheaper one doesn't have a battery and the dearer one includes a battery & charger but it does work out cheaper to buy it with the battery & charger in the long run as to buy the battery on its own I think is around $50!

Thank you Karen. I thought that would be the case. I hope to buy the complete version today.
