So glad to have on those hot days.
Bought this unit due to the excessive heat we have experienced over the last few summers.
Cools down efficiently & quietly. Haven’t noticed any huge increase in power bills, cools down large living area & whole house if all windows & doors are closed to stop cool air escaping.
Purchased in February 2021 for $1,250.00.

Best decision this summer!
I don't know how I survived before I got this installed. Moved into a new house over the Christmas break, during a typical Queensland summer peak. Didn't realise until after I'd moved in there was no air-con in the master bedroom. Shock! Horror! Got onto the Airconditioning Experts and had this little beauty installed. Super quiet while running, cools quickly and efficiently. Low electricity usage and excellent value for money.
Purchased in February 2021 at Air Conditioning Expert for $1,500.00.

Worst customer service
I bought a brand new air conditioner on 9 January 2022 and got it installed on 18 January 2022. Since then air conditioner did not run for five minutes. Panasonic is not giving me replacement air conditioner whereas sending technician again and again to my place. Technicians are unable to fix it but doing experiments.
Despite spending $1669 for air conditioner I am not enjoying it in Canberra's hot summer.
I will never buy any Panasonic product.

Does the job
Does the job faily well, cooled the room on a hot summer day set to 23. Power consumption is excellent. Getting the right setting is a bit finicky and if fan set to Auto it's way too slow. Better to be set manually. Didn't try heating as of yet. I prefer the Mitsubishi units from experience

Efficient, quiet & cool
Extremely happy with my new air conditioner - I have a large open home with lots of windows and glass doors and high ceilings. This A/C is super quiet, cools the room within seconds and flows into adjoining areas. It's coped easily during a very hot summer. Easy operation, slimline design which blends into the room nicely.

Excellent
A beautifully quiet air conditioner and well suitable for a standard sized main bedroom. Very easy to use and after 12 months use has not given us any problems. It is not an imposing wall unit so blends in well with a modern style room. Cleaning and servicing is a breeze.

Great air conditioner which speaks English.
I have a fairly large home and the Panasonic's inverter cools all of it. During 40plus temperatures it copes very well. Unlike other models the hand piece is easy to read in English. .other models I have had use signs which are more difficult to read. It also has a sensor for movement in the room and a quiet setting.

Problem after problem after problem
Have had nothing but trouble with this air con. Purchased in nov 2017 before summer. Worked perfect on the aircon setting during that summer.
Winter cake along and then went to heat up the house with heating setting, it never worked properly. Had to get a technician out under warranty, had to replace the ‘electric board’ on the indoor and outdoor units. It was then working fine.
This start of summer (Nov 2018 at Gold Coast so starting to get humid) went to fire it up. Would run for 2 minutes, fully cut out think blink error on the indoor un...Read more

Very disappointing customer service experience.
At the 12 month mark our new bedroom AC unit stopped pumping cold air. Panasonic recommended we phone the installation technician to check the install first to prevent an unnecessary call out fee. He was happy to come out, gassed down the unit and checked his part of the work. He was clear with me he could not service the unit, or assess the internal components, or make repairs. He said he could check his work, and if needed make the unit safe if a refrigerant mechanic was needed. He had me stay with him during the process, and asked I film the...Read more
results of the pressure and leak test for the mechanic. His pipe work held pressure and no leaks were detected, but the refrigerant was low. He left an 'out of service tag' on the machine, made it safe and asked I contact the manufacturer for a warranty repair. Panasonic's repair agent attended 5 weeks later and diagnosed low refrigerant. They made an immediate assessment that it was the installers error based on the presence of oil at a junction, and absence of any other identifiable fault or leak. I was told the cost was outside of warranty, that i had already incurred a fee for them turning up and that the longer i took to make a decision the more i'd be charged. I wanted to discuss the installer's previous check, send them the videos etc but. I was told I should take it up with Panasonic. They said they were a repair agent, not the manufacturer, and a small business so they needed to be compensated for their time - i said 'fair enough' and approved them to repair it over the phone and asked they send me a report. I wasn't home, they had my wife pay with a credit card and had her sign a tablet. My concerns at this point were that no fault was detected, and that despite the unit being checked twice, and each time it meeting the required tests, the default ruling was that it had to be an installers fault because no other issues were found. This unit was attached to a bedroom - i wanted some sort of idea of how this could happen, if there were any risks to occupants and could it happen again? I was told to take it up with Panasonic. I started an escalation process with Panasonic at this stage. In the end Panasonic's position was that: - That my wife having signed the report and paid the bill meant I had accepted the repair agents findings. During the visit I was under pressure to make a quick decision, being told I was incurring additional costs by taking time to decide. i was told I could take it up with Panasonic at a later time. I was talking with them remotely, my wife was at home and was not allowed to talk with the repair agent, she was directed to talk to an office manager. Despite having only communicated with me, the agent had her sign the tablet and pay without explaining what the report would say.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Coool....!
This air conditioner was purchased to supplement the single unit that we had in a large open space kitchen, dining room and lounge room area. The current unit is 7 kilowatt and this one is 6 kilowatt. This has been a valuable addition. We often have summer days in excess of 40 degrees Celsius and with both units on low we are extremely comfortable, but most of the time we only have to have the new unit operating and all is well.... We love it... Cheers Linz

Time will tell...
We have three of these units installed (since late 2017). Air-conditioners worked well for the first summer in QLD. This year we have started to notice issues in the unit, mainly that the unit will sporadically not cool. On each occasion, an inspection of the condenser shows the fan is not spinning. Requires a shunt or poke, after which time it appears to work OK. So far has occurred in 2 of the 3 units. Due to the unpredictability, a service centre call has not been logged due to the risk of a callout fee. In relation to the bright lights on t...Read more

Do not buy customer service is non existing
Not good my unit has died just out of warranty. Panasonic won't have anything to do with it even though it is consumer law to cover a product outside of warranty if it has not had a reasonable life expectancy. Panasonic won't help because the tech can't find the leak therefore in Panasonic eyes no problem. It does not work I would never ever purchased this product if I knew it would only last 10 months out of warranty. My last unit a Kelvinator lasted 17 years had to replace it because parts no longer available. Replace my unit and stop my family from suffering through extreme heat cause you don't care about your customers. Panasonic reviews are dreadful as a company you need to fix this.

Very good and efficient
All I can say is to previous reviews it's not the unit and read the manual.
This is one of the most energy efficient heat pumps on the market and this model hits a sweet spot for that efficiency. The next model down and up not so efficient.
Getting the right size go 55 to 65watts per cubic meter
They take time to start because they don't want to blow cold air at you also it can be the new energy efficient r32 gas but most heat pumps take time to start.
You can ajust the brightness of the led by pressing I think the up button for 5 seconds it's in the manual.
So if it's not heating it's probably to small for your room.
Which is a shame because this model is a good one.

Powerful heat and cool
Great air conditioner and heater. This is our only heater /cooler for our house on the Sunshine Coast. Takes off the chill in those winter months and cools really well in those hot muggy days.
The unit looks good on the wall, not like some of those old boxy wall units. It’s also very quiet.

Best for cooling of small rooms
I purchased the house with the same in 2010 and till today it is with us. The good thing is it is not noisy and cools the small home very speedily.
I had maintenance done as well.
It is not recommended for big houses as you will need separate for separate rooms.

Great performance despite temperature setting nuances
Bought and set one of these up for my MIL based on a having happily owned three earlier models of these air conditioners ourselves. Have only used it through winter so far but it can certainly put out a good amount of heat quietly. The only gripes we have with it is that it takes a good 8-10 minutes from turn on before producing any heat, which is longer than our models take and that to get a given room temperature you need to set the air con at 3-4C higher than you actually want. Otherwise, it is a fantastic product.

Best of the available options
It was a toss up to buy Panasonic's CS/CU-Z50TKR or Mitsubishi's MSZ-GL50VGD.
I chose the Panasonic because it was 4.0 / 4.5 energy stars (cooling/heating) vs the Mitsubishi's 4/3 stars.
The Panasonic was also cheaper, it only cost me $1260 while the Mitsubishi would have cost about $100 more.
I've heard reports that Mitsubishi are supposed to be better quality but I have no real way to determine that. I think it's better to just go off straight up specs & cost.
Installation costs were interesting. :)

Lower costs yet great output
This heats and cools our entire 4 bedroom home. Great options to select to keep the running cost down too so no nasty electricty bills anymore yet we stay in high comfort! Very quiet operation too and easy to understand instructions. Modern design fits in well with our decor. We no longer need any extra fans or heaters so more space for us too!

I'm wondering what the temperature range is on the heat setting for this unit. I have a Mitsubishi currently which only allows you to set a minimum heating temperature of 18 degrees. I'm hoping to find a new unit that allows you to set a lower heating temperature of 15 or 16 degrees.
