New home - same air-con
We moved house and for our new home chose to have the updated model of the split-systems we had before. They have proved to be very reliable, comfortable to live with, versatile with programming choice. Both instances the installation was trouble-free. In the previous situation we realised that the 3.5Kwh one [we also had a 7Kwh] wasn't operating properly. No problem with the check up and remedy under the warranty terms: some loose nuts in the outside unit were found and the refrigerant needed replenishing. Controls are easy to get used to, and the screen is easy to read.

Cheapest price for Airconditioner
Really good unit. I bought it for my bedroom and it's so quiet I sometimes have to check if it's still on. My electrician had no trouble installing the unit & the remote is very easy to use. I use the timer to turn on automatically in the morning so I get out of bed to a nice warm room.

So efficient and quiet
Such a quiet product with such a powerful motor. I am so glad I decided to go with this rather than a cheaper brand. As is always the case you really get what you pay for and while this might be a bit more of an outlay, it is worth it. Especially if a third of the cost of getting aircon is on the install. Highly recommend

Good little aircon
Panasonic is going good it is very quiet unit, cools the large room ( was told by guys to install the bigger kw unit as room is very big) but it is cooling fine. 2 on and off timers. Took 1 hour to install. Some issues are firstly no back light on remote and sometime makes a ticking noise when shut.

Good and energy efficient
I bought this air conditioner because it has the best energy rating compared to others the same size. It works great and heats up the room in no time. I still don't understand how the Econavi works though. It also has the Nanoe G function which helps to remove bacteria from the filter.
The only thing that I don't like about this air-con, is that it makes a ticking noise when it's on, and that can be annoying sometimes, I think it's caused by the vibration of the flaps.

Great for large area
Purchased this a couple months ago but had it installed by different company due to installation cost. No complaints at all, just a little noisier than l expected, other than that its great. Remote seems easy enough but l always keep manual handy just in case. I haven't got my electricity bill yet so can't comment on power usage. Had the same unit but the 50TKR installed in the bedroom as well. I only need to put them on for no more than an hour and the room is comfortable.

Purchased CU-Z50TKR - completely regret it
This was definitely a massive disappointment. We purchased off a respectable appliance store on their recommendation with a included cashback offer. We are unhappy with our purchase.
Our machine is really creaky and clunky, it's slow to start up and it occasionally drips water, its materials appears cheap and nasty and at night time the lights on the machine completely light up the room making it almost impossible to have on at nighttime without somehow covering the lights.
We purchased a much larger kw different brand of air conditioner...Read more
from the same appliance company around the same time and it was comparitively cheaper to this machine- yet in comparison this machine appears far worse quality and louder and almost completely useless in comparison. It doesn't cool /heat the room adequately and it's only needing to heat/cool a small bedroom. We would not purchase again and it's turned us off the brand completely.Similar opinion? Good but expected better based on reviews
Bought this unit based on online reviews from public and various other sources. It replaced our 14 year old Mitsubishi unit. It works well but we need to turn the temperature down much lower to achieve the same result compared to our previous unit. Also, the fan is much louder than the old unit.

Instructions are useless
Heats well and looks nice however tricky to use, 2 days after install it started blowing cold air after I set the timer. Read instructions from front to back! USELESS. Finally find what I think is wrong in the troubleshooting section and then there is no solutions, it tells you what is wrong but not how to fix it. 4 hours later and a call to the installer and we finally worked out it had gone onto defrost and he said we had to wait 20 min and it would start to heat again. It would have been nice if that solution was in the instructions. Blow...Read more
ing cold air when it is 6 degrees outside doesn't seem energy saving to me?? We had to plug in the electrIc heater while the RC was doing whatever it was doing and stopped blowing cold air, and by then the house was freezing again. weird?? I bought this for my elderly mother to keep her warm and now she is stressed as she said the manual says she has to clean filters every 2 weeks and other maintenance that she is not capable of doing and she finds the operating is too complex for her with all the yuppy fancy air filtering and sensor movements on it. i wish we had of gone somewhere and seen one running so Mum could have tried the controls, even I think they are complex. Also beware if you have a solid brick house as no salesperson informed us that these units cannot go anywhere, ie above a window in a solid brick house. We only had one external wall it could be fitted to due to support beams being a solid brick house. Get an inspection before you buy to make sure it can be installed where you want it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Small Unit
Paid $759 less $100 cashback so nett $659. It is very quiet and effective on heating. Will update the review when the warmer weather comes but so far I can't fault it. I like that as an inverter you don't get the compressor cutting in and out all the time. Our bedroom is 18sqm with 2.4m ceiling and it copes with that area easily. I expect it will earn it's keep in a hot Adelaide summer but all indications to date are positive and I'm happy to recommend it.

Love it
The unit heats and cools nicely. It is quiet and quick to come to temperature. This is the second Panasonic air conditioner that I've bought, I'm very happy with their customer service and support. No problems with the unit, I've had it serviced and cleaned after owning the old one 2 years, it's still perfect. Very happy. Good price, good unit, good company.

product is faulty from the day installed
The vertical flap didn't swing after installed. Countless email and phone call. Panasonic only give you phone # then walk away. Self manage call to authorised technician came but cannot fix then second tech guy came one month later to fix it. After sell service from Panasonic is Zero. Thanks for nothing!

Great cooling and heating for one large room
We have 4 of these models on a multihead system, 2 of the 2.5kw and 2 of the 2kw cooling. The 2.5kW are in our master bedroom and lounge and cools them perfectly, as well as pushing out a bit into the next room. The 2kW are fine for the 2 smaller bedrooms too. These are very quiet and we can sleep with them on and set a timer for them to turn on/off. Very easy to use and fan can be directed really easily. We also like that we can control the 4 units separately and this was a big deciding factor for us when comparing to ducted aircon.
Great performance and nowhere near the price tag of Fujitsu etc.

Avoid Panasonic at all cost
I recently bought a brand new Panasonic split air conditioner and the outdoor unit was faulty from the beginning. My installer said the unit was faulty from the factory, which I can understand as these things can happen.
Panasonic sent their authorised technicians out to diagnose the issue, he came back with the same conclusion as my installer which was faulty unit from the factory.
This is where the fun begins, I've then made countless calls to Panasonic to replace the unit only for them to pass me around each time to a different "depart...Read more
ment". They also told me to contact the authorised technician which I did only to be told to contact Panasonic. This has been happening for a few weeks with no results, seems like no one wants to take any responsibility. Their customer service also comes across as quite condescending, makes it look like its my fault for complaining. Really disappointed and I will never buy anything from Panasonic again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good
I bought this a.c. during last summer. I'm happy with four month use. It is silent during Night time. Running cost is comparatively less. Installation cost too much for Ac in Australia. Make sure to buy during offers. If possible Install solar to make running cost more affordable during summer

Very disappointed.
Bought this unit in October 2017, only used it a handful of times before we realised it wasn’t cooling properly, it was basically acting like a powerful fan. We tried several different settings even having it down at 18c for two hours and still not cooling. Contacted Panasonic who advised us to contact their preferred local technicians in Brisbane. The customer service agents at the preferred technician company were uninterested and unhelpful and I was told the first assessment appointment would be two weeks away (in the middle of Brisbane summ...Read more
er!). The first technician who arrived was helpful and was able to identify the problem quickly. Took nearly 2 weeks for the follow up visit technician to arrive as the staff forgot to call me to arrange a suitable time. After arranging a time they sent a technician 4 hours early! Good job I was at home otherwise I’d be waiting another two weeks for the follow-up appointment. One month later and still not fixed, just waiting on a part. Not happy with the long wait to get a technician, nor the quality of customer service at the technician company. I expected more from such a so -called quality company as Panasonic.Similar opinion? Great technology and desighn needs to improve quality
The Panasonic air conditioner is extremely smart and efficient and keeps the air temp and humidity perfect all the time, if you want a efficient and cheap air con buy this (for lower capacity models, for bigger capacity buy a MHI Bronte), these air cons have good air cleaning aswell. Though one disadvantage is people often have trouble with these air cons because they use it wrong(or bad install) and blame it on the a/c, Panasonic are Japanese so they ensure very good reliability and technology, though these units are so cheap now because unsur...Read more
prisingly these a/c's are not made in Japan (but they are desighned in Japan) :C so they are honestly not very good quality, my 100% Chinese Kelvinator (Yes, Kelvinator a/c are rebranded Chinese units) is actually a bit better quality. On the Panasonic the plastics rattle and move about the plastic has lots of manufacturing marks on them. As long as you are delicate with it, the poor quality is ok because once it's installed you don't touch it much. I leave the H & V swing and the fan speed on auto, on startup it makes some noise but after 5 mins it is very quiet. + Very efficient + Brings the temp down quickly + Good at keeping temp + Looks nice + Quiet - Quality - The swinging things make clicking noises (This is the only thing that annoys me about the unit, it is quite annoying though.)Similar opinion? A quiet air conditioner
Bought 2 units to get installed at in the bedrooms. Moderate sized (4x4m) rooms. Easy installation with the electrician. Unobtrusive looking unit inside and out. Now up and running and cooled the rooms easily, despite the 39degree temperature out size. The process for setting up timers and air direction was very easy after reading the manual. The quiet mode is actually noticeably more quiet than the lowest fan mode. Would recommend.

My idea conditioner
I am happy with the unit's cooling or heating. It cools the house promptly. I cant believe how it can work efficently. My family loves it so much. Perfect! I cant live without it. It is running quietly and even cant hear any sound. It is great value of money.

Questions & Answers
Audreyasked
I'm wondering what the temperature range is on the heat setting for this unit. I have a Mitsubishi currently which only allows you to set a minimum heating temperature of 18 degrees. I'm hoping to find a new unit that allows you to set a lower heating temperature of 15 or 16 degrees.

My aircon compressor (outside unit), from time to time doesn't seem to be running properly. It has happened a couple of times and now it has happened again. I have tried changing modes and even turning the main power off. Also the fan

Hi Pride, best to check with your energy company that they haven't reduced the power during hot weather conditions in Australia, this could explain the symptoms you mention. Alternatively you can contact our customer service team on 132600 for further assistance.
