Awesome aircon - loving summer once again!
The good: excellent power and cools the house very quickly on a boiling hot Melbourne day. It has a feature to purify and santise the air. Very quiet unit outside. It was on sale and there was a cash back offer at the time.
The bad: the feature for the fins to move sideays hss stopped working.

Yet another brilliant Panasonic aircon.
This is our fifth Panasonic air conditioner spread around the house - the others have all been perfect (I have never had a warranty claim), but they just keep getting better with successive later models, and more efficient. Our very first Panasonic inverter, bought in 1997 and installed in our main bedroom, is still going strong after 21 years, but has been reinstalled in the study as it gets much less use- and is much less efficient at about 870w flat out. That was pretty good in 1997.
This one however is down to about 500w max, (much less ...Read more

Really happy with purchase!
Can cool the house down very quickly with either Auto or Powerful mode.
The air conditioner is very quiet both inside and out compared to our previous air con.
Very easy to use, am looking at purchasing a smaller Panasonic unit for a spare bedroom too.
Would recommend it. Installation through Harvey Norman was very good too

No complaints so far
Have only used the cooling a few times so far. This is a 2.5kw and it is quiet and cools our bedroom quickly. The outside unit was installed on brackets and the whole process took 2.5 hours. 5 year warranty on this model.
I know it's early days for a proper review but I will update if I need to add anything.

Stopped working after using couple of times in hot summer
We bought this brand new panasonic air conditioner rather then buying any cheaper one thinking it would give a good service for at least couple of years. But after using for a month (of course not everyday, may be 10 days the max) it doesn't blow cool air. Its the pick summer now (42°C in the afternoon) and I have a new born. We complained and they said it will take 2 weeks to come and see. I even told them i have a new born (as if they care). Now i go to mall or other places and stay the day with my baby. What can be a worse experience than this?

Cooling speed is exceptional
I had to purchase an air conditioner in a hurry, and so far I am not disappointed in my choice, but I have only used it twice. I previously owned a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries brand but was put off buying another, as it only lived for 7 years. The Panasonic is exceptionally quiet and cools the room very quickly. It was so cold in fact, that I needed to turn it off. The installation was a breeze and I was given a discount due to it being such a simple job by the installer. The controls are more or less the same as my previous air conditioner so ...Read more
it is not too hard to get used to. I was also very happy with the price at Harvey Norman, who were the cheapest for this model. My only negative comment, (although minor), is that the design of the unit is not as sleek as some other air conditioners of this size.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Super quiet and performs well
Unit cools our 6x5m loungeroom down quite quickly and is super quiet. Purchased on eBay through good guys and picked up Unit next day. Got 20% off with ebay deal which brought the aircon down to $1070. Unit is easy to use and am very happy with our purchase. Only got installed today 28/12/2017 so am yet to have any flaws with the unit. Will see how much it increases the power bill with our next bill

Very upset about performance!
Waiting 2 two weeks to get Panasonic people to come and inspect why it's not cooling. Unit is just a powerful fan. Bought from Good Guys and installed by qualified people. Very bad service and service booked two times. No one contact me yet to solve the problem. Running 4 to 5 hours don't make any difference. Wast of money.

Cheaply made! so many better options out there
These were sold to us by a large retail chain in Queensland who seem to be selling heaps of them.
I've seen plenty of new air cons including Mitsubishis and Daikins. These Panasonics are very cheaply constructed. The plastics are very thin and the wall plate is about half the thickness of a Mitsubishi.
5 year warranty, so its a good budget brand but definitely not a quality AC like some of the bigger brands.
Do yourself a favour, download the brochure and compare with a Mitsubishi or Daikin. The soundlevels, air volume etc are all better. The noise output on this 2.5kw is 62dbs! almost twice as long as other brands which are around 58dbs. Also the energy rating is only when using 'EcoNavi' setting, so its not all the time.

Nice unit
This is our first Split System purchase. This model is brand new and works really well. Its quiet and effective.
A bit of a hiccup at installation, due to the Installer putting in a faulty Circuit Breaker. This installer was provided by the retailer not, Panasonic.
Panasonic sent their repairer, the fault was discovered and the original Installer promptly fixed the problem.
Panasonic customer service is excellent. We cannot fault their manner and efficiency.
Overall very happy with the product and Customer Service we have received.

I'm wondering what the temperature range is on the heat setting for this unit. I have a Mitsubishi currently which only allows you to set a minimum heating temperature of 18 degrees. I'm hoping to find a new unit that allows you to set a lower heating temperature of 15 or 16 degrees.

My aircon compressor (outside unit), from time to time doesn't seem to be running properly. It has happened a couple of times and now it has happened again. I have tried changing modes and even turning the main power off. Also the fan
to the compressor is only spinning really slow. Any ideas???

Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic
Hi Pride, best to check with your energy company that they haven't reduced the power during hot weather conditions in Australia, this could explain the symptoms you mention. Alternatively you can contact our customer service team on 132600 for further assistance.
