Great love it!
We got these installed in the bedrooms after a bit of a heatwave. We're so glad we did they're quiet and easy to use, the settings etc are very straightforward. The installation was pretty fast all done in a day, but as it is summer there was a bit of waiting to get an install date.

useful and nicely designed
I used to concern a little but the unit is quiet and working very well, which pretty much satisfies my boyfriend cause he gets easily disturbed by even a little bit noise during the night. as for me, I particularly love the design. it look even much better on our wall. glad to have it.

Love our air conditioner!
We got this installed as we have a baby and the temperature in our bedroom can get quite hot. Having had this installed, definitely don't regret it! It cools very fast and has a quiet setting that basically means you can't hear the unit at all! It also has an inbuilt air filter which is important for us as we have a baby sleeping in our room.

Energy Efficient
One of the best air-conditioning unit I've purchased. Very quiet, easy to use and economical. There a blue light that turns on at night. May not be suitable for some but majority would love this product. I give it a 9.5 out of 10. And yes I will buy it again.

Air con unit
Have a 8kw system and found it to be a great air con during the summer months, the unit is fairly quite however if turned on powerful mode setting it may have a small rattle inside. Controls and setting are easy to use besides setting timers is a rather complicated process.

Perfect during summer
Happy with the unit we purchased. We purchased two units and got a good offer. We could sleep soundly throughout the night as it’s very quite. The installation of the units don’t take long. Very glad that we purchased it to prepare for summer. For the price we paid, it’s worth it. :)

Good quality item
I have found this product reliable and the cooling system is adequate for our moderate sized unit. It is quiet and the installation took a bit of time due to the peak season we purchased it. It's easy to use and would recommend purchasing this product for a Queensland home.

Great air-con, does what it supposes to.
Bought this unit late last year before the summer. Love every features. Very powerful unit as it doesn't take long to cool the whole room. It's also quite. Maybe not the quietest but enough not to cause inconvenience. The downsize: there is no Wifi option like other units on the market.

Panasonic air con
Excellent unit. Quiet, inside and out. Smallest unit used to cool a 4 x 3 room in minutes, in north qld summer! No issues after 2 years of summer use. Would recommend over Fujitsu any day. Outdoor unit is a little larger than comparable sized units from other manufacturers but not really an issue.

Absolutely useless faulty unit out of the box
Purchased this from Harvey Norman last September to find out it's actually a discontinued model. From the day it was installed it was faulty. Spent hours on the phone to Panasonic customer and technical service for over phone fault finding to be told the unit was working despite this 7kw unit being unable to even remotely cool a 3.5m x 3.5m lounge room. Finally failed all together, blowing 25degree air while set to 16 and powerful. When Panasonic's national service agent came to assess the unit the tech advised it was faulty out of the box and ...Read more
stated many of these RKR series units are. He actually advised buying Mitsubishi, this from the Panasonic agent! So far it's taken 6 months to get this AC unit working and it still feels like it blows warm air even on powerful. Good luck dealing with the useless service agent, their office staff are some of the most useless I've encountered. Complaining directly to Panasonic Australia won't get you anything other than empty promises and as is always the case Harvey Norman do absolutely nothing for you once you leave the store. Wish I could rate it 0 stars.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Sadly disappointed - Second person in a day to notify the purchasing store of a fault with this air
We installed this air conditioner only two weeks ago and it has already had a major fault. After contacting Harvey Norman (purchasing store) this morniing, I found out that I was the second person today that had called in to notify them of a fault with this air conditioner. Our installer is now chasing up with Panasonic to see when they can service the unit. We are very disappointed with Panasonic - we thought we could trust their products but we have definitely learnt our lesson.

Below average product and after sales customer service
Bought a Panasonic C7.0kW H8.0kW Reverse Cycle AirConditioner and broke down after 8 months (actual use is only 2 months). We reported the problem to Panasonic on Jan 8. We then had to make our own calls to their authorised repairer to check for progress and to book a visit. Their authorised repairer eventually came on Jan 17 (10 days since reported) and declared that the fan had burned out so parts need to be ordered and replaced. Again, we had to wait for parts to arrive. We had to call the repairer again to make a booking for the replaceme...Read more
nt visit. The first available date is Feb 5 (18 days after initial inspection). If things go according to plan, we will have our airconditioner back after waiting for over a month so fingers crossed. We will not buy, not recommend Panasonic Airconditioners to our own friends and family after this experience. This sub-standard product and lousy customer service is not what we paid for. Do you research and don’t just rely on Comparison sites. Find out what real customers are saying, specially about after sales service. 3 Questions to Panasonic: 1. Why did our airconditioner break down after only 2 months of use? Can we get a full replacement or get our money back? 2. Why do we have to wait for over a month to get it fixed? (in the middle of summer) 3. Why do you only have 1 authorised repairer for the whole of Australia?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Efficient and cool
We have purchased this unit for our bedroom with recent heat and humidity it is a mush and a life-saver. We are very pleased with its performance and have not experienced anything out of the ordinary. So far everything works very well. It cools the bedroom very fast and then maintains the set temperature. Would trust Panasonic for cooling!

Efficient & Effective
We recently replaced the 3 split systems in our bedrooms with these 3.5kW Panasonic units and we are very pleased with their performance. We live in the country and with the recent hot weather we have had them on continuously for the last week. We stayed with Panasonic because we have 2 large inverter Panasonic systems that are around 10 years old and working well in the hot conditions. Would definitely buy Panasonic again.
There are lots of options for economy settings which are great.

not the best air conditioner
the eco friendly is useless and this doesn't get anywhere near as cold as our old airconditioner that broke down after 10 years. I don't expect to get as long out of this one and i find the temperature is not very cold without making it economical. it is a quiet machine and easy to operate.

Panasonic Reverse Cycle is the best
I got this fantastic machine installed in my medium size living room and it's been working fantastically both in winter and summer. I cannot find anything to complain as it works as I'd hope for. It is my first Reverse Cycle I've ever bought and I will stick with Panasonic brand as I'm very happy with its performance. The noise could be something they can improve on though.

Perfect in every way
Purchased this aircon forte lounge room and it has worked perfectly through the hottest and coldest of days. Highly recommend to purchase. We did buy 2 more I for each bedroom but have had issues with the 3.5 not cooling the room enough. The 2.5 works a charm. And the 5.0 is amazing. Highly recommend the purchase.

Emits a loud whistle intermittently
Our 12 month old Panasonic AC is good at cooling and heating BUT. The but is the 43 decibel whistling noise that comes in intermittently and seemingly at random. The noise lasts from several minutes to half an hour at times and doesn't seem to relate to heating or cooling. Our installation guy couldn't name a cause and he said we were keeping the filters ultra-clean. I have around 20 split system a.c units across several houses and consequently I can state that this is the noisiest of the last 10 installations. The quietest units I have are the Mitsubishi heavy industry ones, followed by Daikin. Unfortunately this whistler is in my own bedroom. I will not buy another Panasonic!

I no longer need to replace my NOISY Panasonic a.c.

from the outside unit. However I found that the real source of the noise was coming from something, likely a bush, on the left end of the inside unit using a stethoscope pressed against the housing. The noise-vibration was quite localized and loud. I used a couple of lead sheets molded to the left end of the indoor unit to block the sound.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good aircon, but a little noisy
The heating and cooling performance is quite good, it cools very quick.
The outdoor unit is a little noisy, even at "quite" mode. It is ok during the day due to background noise, but we don't like to keep it running all night.
The installation is fairly easy according to the electrician did my job.
The unit is quite easy to use, I did't even need to read the manual. To set the timer is very easy, not like my old Daikin.

Smart good looking and reliable
With 40 degrees in Sydney today I was reminded again what a good purchase I made a couple of months ago, well ahead of summer heat so that I can have time to get used to the new appliance. I love this unit, it is perfect in every way. It is definitely worth the money spent and a very good purchase. It is quiet, economical, heats and cools within minutes and good looking elegant design as well. I am very much happy with the purchase.

Hello, I have the Z12RKR and the Z09RKR installed in the kids bedrooms 3 years ago. The first nights we used them they would not cool consistently. It would start off at a correct temp, then warm up over the night. We followed the instructions carefully. They were on cool mode, econavi off and fan on auto. After trying multiple combinations we were never able to get the rooms to stay at a constant temp. We rang the installer who advised that we shouldn't use auto, as it doesn't keep the room consistency cool, but to use a low fan setting. Which we have been successfully using since.
The other day I was cleaning the filters and noticed huge amounts of mould growing inside the unit. The last clean and service was conducted 15 months ago. I rang the installer who stated using low fan settings typically contributes to mould growing, and seemed to think it just needed a clean and service.
I feel like this is a no win situation if I follow what has been advised. What settings should I realistically be using to keep the unit clean and actually cooling at night? Has anyone else encountered this?
I feel auto at night should work when econovi is off?
I understand all units need regular servicing. However I cannot believe this amount of mould would grow in such a short amount of time unless something is wrong. None of our other brand of air conditioners we have purchased in our properties over the years have behaved like this. Thank-you.

Hi Shotang, thank you for your query. Mould build up is due to the environment. Running the unit on any particular mode will not add to this or remove it. We would recommend frequent cleaning of the filters, but also of the whole unit.
Auto will detect the temperature and the unit will ramp down accordingly, and when the temperature rises, turn back on. This is why it would have been suggested to use the product in manual mode, to have the unit consistently running the whole night.
We would recommend at the end of each summer running the unit on a heating cycle (if it isn't used on heat in winter) to dry up any stored moisture within the unit.

Can you please advise what is the highest possible level this unit may be installed on the the wall? ie. What is the necessary clearance from the top of the unit to the ceiling? As I've noticed the unit expands outwards (not so, much upwards) during operation
thanks

This is a question for the installer or electrician but mine is installed quite high up with about a open hand space to the ceiling. I was told this will be ok and I hope it doesn’t cause any issue down the track.
Thanks, is that for this same Fujitsu designer model? When it operates, the front panel extends forwards and up. Is your hand distance enough for this?
