Purchased this machine nearly three years ago. The large lint filter has broken and I havent replaced but probably need too. Also as we are on tank water we try to conserve water. I always program washing to do one rinse but it seems to be doing more than one.

If your not going to lose money on it..ditch it asap.It rusts out very quickly,is a lemon, buy a real washing machine, not Panasonic.Tech help,is hopeless, they told me to buy another brand.(Auckland).What does that tell you.?

Panasonic
Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic

Hi Ning, not really sure what your question is here, but will try and answer your points.
Filters can be purchased from a spare parts distributor https://au.panasonic.com.au/support/spare-parts-distributors
In relation to number of rinses, please refer to page 9 of the operating instructions for exactly how many rinse cycles each program does.

Get rid of the Panasonic asap,it's a lemon, just waiting to breakdown,or rust out.Buy a decent brand of washing machine, Panasonic does not make good washing machines.Their Auckland office tech advisors are rude, arrogant,in fact even they told me to buy another brand of washing machine, after they issued me a refund. What does that tell you about the brand name.?

Hi. U normally indicates an issue that you can clear yourself. Best to check the operating instructions for what to do. As this isn’t an Australian model you will need to refer back to your country of purchase.

This (expensive) machine is absolutely useless.

It is EXTREMELY SLOW in everything that it does. It hates small loads & gets badly out of balance on the spin cycle with small loads. I can never get a HOT (or even a warm) wash. Even with COTTON/ HOT selected, the tub fills with 95% cold & just a tiny bit of hot water and always at the end of the initial "fill" cycle.

A manual HOT section still achieves the same result...yes the machines hot water valve does open and the hot water valve filters are clean and free-flowing

I purchased this machine after 34 years of BRILLIANT washing performance from my old (small) Panasonic NA 860 AN.... this 34 year old machine is still working perfectly, but is too small for our current needs.

What a terrible mistake to buy this new machine. I very much regret the purchase and I would never recommend it to anyone. If someone can suggest how I can get this machine to produce a HOT WASH, I would be extremely grateful for any suggestions.

My machine is 24 days out of warranty! However, whilst I do like the machine as it suits our needs, for the past three months, my washing has come out dirtier than it went in! I religiously clean the filters after every wash and wipe the inside bowl down. I have used the same washing powder for the past 12 years so can't blame that! All my bed linen is white and when I take it out of the machine there are these small blackish bits on it. If you try to remove them when wet, they leave a dirty smudge. Some blows off whilst the linen is drying on our very exposed washing line, but many stay put. I just hate it. What is the problem? Is something breaking down in the machine? help!

I have been in touch with Panasonic and after the first somewhat stupid response, someone from there has solved the problem. Apparently, the residue is mould!!! So ran the hot water wash a couple of times and then the air dry function and it is definitely a lot better. It seems they recommend using the air dry once a week but with the cost of electricity I may have to do it once a month and hope I keep on top of the problem. Never, ever had mould in a washing machine before!!!

I have the same problem and i was going to see the manufacturer as it is still under warranty. And if they don't cover these then possibly the manufacturer would know where you can purchase a replacement. They are a very bad design and are very easily broken.

im interested to know what you did with this, both my hinges have broken, this is the worst design for a lid.

Monica R

Yes, this happened to ours too - plastic casing in hinge area cracked and broken. 11 months old machine still under warranty. Panasonic were very difficult refusing it was a warranty issue. Spoke to 3 levels within Panasonic, all adamant we had caused damage. Very frustrating. Different outcome once we got a repair man in. Warranty job. Won’t buy Panasonic again

If I try a large load the machine seems to unbalance then rinse again to balance. I watched it fill up three times in rinse cycle before I removed a towel and put it on spin. It did it again so I had to remove another towel.
It was then ok to spin. Only three towels left in the load.
I tried a small load and it seemed to work ok but when it beeped that it was finished the water was still in machine and quite high for the size of the load. I had to again put it on spin. Is my machine faulty or am I doing something wrong?

Seems to be a strange issue. I have never had this issue. Depending upon which model you have three towels (even when wet) which would be less than 8kg. Have you checked your settings or seen the manual regarding this? I usually go for the pre-set quick wash and other programmed settings and seem to be working alright in terms of water level etc. If within warranty, try to give Panasonic a call but again their customer service is less than ideal.

The Punisher

maybe check that the machine is level. The level bubble needs to be inside the circle.

LBU

Thanks for the suggestions.
Yep, machine is perfectly level :-)
Have tried the set settings, and self-selected settings, but in every case we get multiple fills/rinses, then the machine beeps and shuts off when its still full. We'll give Panasonic Customer Service a try.

I actually had the same problem at the faucet end, but it turns out I hadn't tightened it enough. I tightened it a bit more using a spanner and it was perfect.

Ive had machine for a couple of months and am fed up with it. Twice now with small loads it throws itself out of balance, continues to go into the U13 mode. After rearranging it rinses and spins and then goes back to U13. The spirit level is within the circle, and there appears to be nothing I can do to get the cycle finished. It is now four hours and the three small items are still sitting in water as I have had to turn off the machine to stop it continually filling and spinning and then stopping.
I would be very grateful to get some advice on this as I don't want to go through calling a service man out if there is something I can do to stop it. With my old machine the washing would have been on the line hours ago and ready to bring it. I cant put the load on and go out any longer as I have no confidence that the machine will complete the load while I'm away. Thank You. Margaret

I just went back to where I got it and its going tomorrow had same issue sick of it and yes its not to be trusted ... Bad idea its trying to self level and it cant. I did two blankets and no issue. Yet a small load cant cope. I just kept moving clothes to middle untangle them and put on spin and it still sometimes fills again. How long ago did you get it? Is there a way we can talk private via this product review site I dont know if its posslibe? I leave for o/seas wed so will not be around. I'm happy to talk if product review wants to give you my email.. Get rid of it I did today well tomorrow organised today. But what to buy. I got a nearly 2000 dollar machine will see how that works.

hi Margaret.

I'm so sorry, I just saw this message. A month late!! I've had nothing but wonderful from my machine still, so I can't answer your question. I will say that I only do med/large loads, and I always select my options rather than using a "set" program, and, I hope your problem is already sorted. I can't believe how unreliable these essential and expensive appliances seem to have become, it's so disappointing.

Its not a good machine I am thinking read trying to swap it but others seem worse dont waste your time with lid it folds in half its not an issue probably a foot just bit bigger than a ruler old wooden we had at school.
But if its full and out of balance keeps filling and filling and filling endless to try balance itself useless keeps doing it for hours ... Water not hot just above body temp. Tony

Tony
Tony

I wrote a reply froze submitting so here maybe you get two. It is not a good machine none of them are this was best as far as reviews go. Lid just a bit bigger than ruler 12 inch so 14 or so rest folds not one piece when open. But water issues not hot enough on hot just above body temp. Out of balance keeps filling and filling and filling trying to correct level flawed doesn't work useless machine regret it

Kathok

I would really appreciate it if someone could please measure from the floor to the top of the lid when it is fully open. I have a limited space to fit it in and I need to make sure the lid can open. The 12-14" answer above gives me an idea but I am down to cm left in space here so want to be as accurate as possible.

In case anyone ever needs to know this it is 2330mm high with the lid up.

What should I do if a lot of lint is found on the dark clothing after washing? Thanks

I put it through the druey and then just use a lint brush....

but its usually caused by what youre putting with your clothes (other fluffy clothes, or something in pockets etc) not caused by the washing machine

I hope that helps

I have never had a problem with my dark washing being covered in lint.
Maybe something was amongst the washing you washed?

Emma
Emma

You could need to clean out both the filters in the washing machine. I clean mine every 2 -3 washes depending on how big the loads have been, but they do fill up pretty fast. Id say its probably from that

I have the 9.5kg model, and love it. But the largest of the filters will not remain in its slot. Nothing seems to be broken, there is no lint jammed in the bottom or top for that matter. I click it in properly but at the end of each wash I find it amongst the clothes.
Has anyone had this problem?

Why all clothes tangled after washing finished?

3 answers
TamnChad
TamnChad

Hi
I don't find that this happens with all clothes mainly the smaller items.
I think it happens as there is no agitator.. It is not a huge problem but can slow one down.
My towels are never tangled.

Elizabeth4041
Elizabeth4041

Tamn Chad is correct, mine dont do it too bad, the smaller the wash the more it happens, but its because of the no agitator (the thing that sticks up in the middle)....you cant just have to weigh up whats most important, bigger loads with a faster cydcle, or less muddled clothes after the wash.

but again, i really dont have this problem.

im still reallllly realllly happy with this machine

Outdoors_Guy
Outdoors_Guy

It is a large machine with a lot of clothes so I expect some to get tangled but it is not a problem for us. We just lift them out gently and place them in the basket and untangle as we go. not really an issue, doesn't seem to stretch anything.

Can water level and water temperature be adjusted?
Thanks in advance.

1 answer
J3nni3
J3nni3

Water level and temperature, length of wash, spin and rinse can all be manually set prior to pressing start. This pre-empts the weighing of the load and automatic settings made by the machine if it is simply turned on. Otherwise, you can choose the water temperature and the style (cotton, delicate, bedding, quick wash, baby care, etc.) before pressing start and letting the machine weigh the load and choose the water level, number and length of wash, spin and rinses by itself. Hope this is helpful.
