Grill tripped safety switches
I had to return this 3 times from new as the grill tripped the safety switches. The repairers said they could not find a fault so replaced the elements and the temperature control and it worked ok for 3 weeks then had the bomb again. The microwave is not as powerful as other microwaves. I had a cheap one before rated at 800W that had the same cooking ability. And I found the cooling fan annoying too.

Have had endless trouble with this microwave
Bought new just out of warranty inverter packs in with H97 error. Panasonic don't want to know you. Panasonic agent says worth fixing. Repairs done cost $300 3 months warranty. Gone 4 months and have same H97 error up. INVERTER STUFF AGAIN. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PRODUCT. Back to using old sharp microwave we purchase in 1986

Most frustrating microwave ever!
recently purchased this microwave based on recommendation and I am very unhappy with this product as I cannot get consistent cooking times.
eg. our previous Panasonic microwave would heat a cup of milk -(milk cold from the fridge) in 2.5 minutes everytime.
this microwave can take between 3 to 4.5 minutes without any rationale for the variation.
Heating an open sandwich to melt frozen cheese on top : entered 50sec + 20sec + 30sec and still cheese was only soft; not melted.
it appears this machine is wasting power to do very little. ...Read more
all of these examples were on highest microwave only power setting with the glass plate in the oven. the instruction book is little help. does not advise on any reason to not have the glass tray in the oven to help manage spills. Spills are a regular occurrence when the heating time is so inconsistent! My husband hates it! So frustrated with this over we want to throw it out but it is too expensive to do so!!! completely unhappy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

dodgy
I have had two of these ovens in less than 12 months. The first was returned and replaced with a brand new one. The first one just died, no power at all. Today the replacement one will no longer microwave. Convection works, but the microwave part does nothing. I am hoping that Harvey Norman will take this one back and I can get a credit to go towards another brand, cause I am not getting another one of these.

Great, if you like to be serenaded by jet engines in your home.
I can't believe I paid this much money for a piece of junk.
Within a few months of using it, we had to take it back to Bing Lee because the timer and buttons didn't work. When we got it back, it started to make a godawful sound like a jet starting its engines in the kitchen - it certainly wasn't making that noise before we took it back to have the buttons/timer repaired!
Anyway, because it's a complete pain in the backside for me as a young woman with a back injury to carry a heavy microwave down multiple flights of stairs, I couldn't be...Read more
stuffed taking it back again for another "patch up". So we just try to avoid the convection oven and deal with the noise when we do use it. But I seriously feel gypped - I decided to "pay that little bit extra" for what I thought was quality, but it's the very opposite!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

If you want oven grill this is great/microwave oven function is rubbish
Had this panasonic for 2 weeks now to replace an LG which was 10 years old and I had fixed a few times
during that time.
The new panasonic microwave function is at least twice as slow as our old LG and reminds me of our $99 target
microwave at work for heating up a lunch pie.
the oven grill is great/microwave is just too slow and even took it back thinking something was wrong with it,nothing.
so we are stuck with this lemon for how many years?

Dodgy Door 2
I bought one in January and by May the door was jamming intermittently and I was advised to take it to a recommended repairer - on the other side of the city. After 6 weeks I got it back only to have the same problem after three days.
Panasonic were most unhelpful but Appliances on Line couldn't have been more helpful and delivered a new machine. However a few weeks later the same problem emerged. I had had enough and declined Appliances on Line's offer for another replacement and they readily agreed to a refund.
This experience has made me wary of Panasonic products.

They don't make 'em like they used to - II
Purchased 2-3 years back. Great product, easy to use and the dial function to set cooking time is so much better than buttons on other models. This would be a good review, but unfortunately the microwave recently died after failing to heat items in microwave mode and blowing smoke - the inverter and magnetron had burnt out. It is reapirable but for the price even the repair guy recommended I simply buy a new model.
As the Panasonic replaced a Sharp convetion microwave that survived almost 20 years, I know which brand the replacement will be.....

Love the flatbed technology
We have been using the LG Solardom for many years and we have loved the idea of the convection microwave's ability to use combination mode which increases the speed of cooking and saves energy. So when we were in the market for a new one, I noticed that there are now options without the turntable. Read many reviews but could not decide either way. So we decided to take the plunge and chose this one out of the few options available.
We've been using it for more than a week and so far, we've been quite happy with the evenness of the flatbed...Read more
technology. Having no turntable makes the surface very easy to clean. I'm assuming this unit will save energy as the power consumption rating is much lower than the Solardom but still cooks in almost the same time. The only thing I wished it was slightly bigger than 27L so we can fit the trays that can fit in a conventional oven. But that was a choice we made as a trade off for other factors. I've seen a newer model with more space inside and multi level cooking. That will be our next purchase... Flatbed Prefer the door to open downwards so as not to accidentally knock it when sliding tray outSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Dodgy Door
Purchased in May 2011. Within the 12 month manufactures warranty the door took 4 goes to open. The oven was replaced. Then 13 months later the same problem. We were given the impression that we were too hard on the microwave as they had never heard of such a thing especially from the same person. Advised to take it to service center of which they couldn't fix it. It was once again replaced. This time we had to purchase another extended warranty as we were told the initial one we purchased was for the original only. At the time Panasonic agreed ...Read more
that this was the case and they had never had any other complaints with this fault. However over the weekend the same fault appeared. Today I phoned Panasonic and explained. The girl advised that this was a common problem (no one had ever told us that previously). She advised to spray the door latch with olive oil. Well we just did that and problem solved. Wondering why the service center didn't know this previously. Well they are in a business and would get paid for their sevices through Panasonic. Hope this helps others.Similar opinion? They don't make it like they used to - disappointed
Was very pleased to see a mid size range from Panasonic, bought one in late 2010. Noticed soon after that the baking was uneven but put up with it. 10 months later, it played up - elements over heated. Took it to the nominated repairers and after much debate, time and inconvenience, they said I had sprayed cleaner on the elements causing it to malfunction. I said I didn't but didn't argue as someone else at home might have done so. Bought another one to replace it and today, 2 years later, it just died after baking some pastry. I have noticed t...Read more
hat the baking function has been deteriorating lately- not surprised as there is food stuck to the elements which one cannot clean off! Am now looking at other options but certainly not Panasonic anymore. A higher price is no guarantee of quality. Agree with Bob - their 'Customer Care' was anything but. Manned by bored young men who clearly didn't want to be there, were condescending and probably just read off a script.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Surprisingly good
After reading many, so so reviews on convection microwaves, I decided to try this model and give it a go. I have only owned it a few days but have tried all the different methods of cooking and can honestly say it's pretty good. I do agree that on pure microwave power it's not as powerful as my old sharp carousel, but I don't mind the trade in of cooking things for a bit longer to get a good result. I've cooked a quiche, which cooked evenly and warmed up fresh pizza, which stayed nice and crisp on the auto cook. I have enjoyed a few other meals...Read more
such potato bake on convection, and all so far seem great. I am looking forward to experimenting a little more especially with the auto cook menu, which takes most of the guessing away. All in all, very happy. The easy auto cook menu. Grill feature, looks great. Less power than my old sharp. Not too sure about cleaning the ceiling due to the grill which doesn't look removable.1 comment

Don't Complain AFTER buying a dog Like this
This so called "New Technology" gives you what is touted as a versatile system because of the "No turntable" oven. The only problem is that the power output is terrible and you will soon be sick of waiting for things to cook. Has the power of 630 watt equivilant in a turntable model.
Panasonic Customer Care ( it;s a joke to call it that ) have the attitude, that they know all, and the customer is always wrong.
Convection cooking is also uneven.
I advise you not to waste your money on this. You can buy a much better and faster oven for a fraction of the price
It looks good
Slow and uneven cooking

I think you have not removed the metal tray before you put in your casserole or plate for microwaving. The metal tray is only for convection mode. Please see the manual pg 5.
Have you removed the metal tray? Other reviews suggest that this may be the issue.

me up with the result that it doesn't do any of the three functions well. I can't believe how pathetically slow it is and with the cage over the top elements, how the hell are you supposed to clean them? I could have bought three useful microwaves for what this heap of garbage cost!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Questions & Answers
Margaretasked
Can I cook with oven and microwave combined or oven, microwave and grill combined putting in my own temperatures and time.
It seems I can only cook with grill and microwave combined. Disappointing.
1 answer
Yes, you're right from what I can see in the manual. However, I have cooked cakes using microwave followed by convection and they turned out fine. But it is just as easy to just cook with convection for cakes. The combination function of microwave and grill works ok too but only for things that need browning or crisping.

How do you cook pastry using the convection oven?
My first try at cooking home made sausage rolls ended with the tops burnt while the bottom went soggy and fell apart
3 answers
Haven't used it to bake pastry, but I find that cooking cakes etc. works best if you use one of the racks. I have reheated pastry using convection and they worked out fine. Hope you have better luck next time.
Have now cooked some sausage rolls in this oven and found the following : use the black tray that comes with the oven and don't try and fit too much on it. Cook at 200 for 30 to 35 min on the lower oven rung and reverse the tray half away through. Don't use baking paper and be sure to preheat the oven. Hope this helps. I used a fairly firm chicken meat mixture and fortunately they came out quite crisp.
Thank you so much, I did use baking paper, and had the oven on 180.
I will try again this week using your method.

Is it safe to put this microwave oven on top of my vertical freezer?
2 answers
Dont see any reason why not. I'd suggest you put a sheet of laminate or MFD between the freezer and microwave. The oven doesn't seem to generate a lot of heat from the bottom.

Hi Amanda, you need to understand where the compressor is within your freezer and if the area you are placing the microwave gets hot what issues it can cause. Please refer to the operating instructions for the best placement of the microwave.
