Will kneeling blade rye work with wholemeal loaf
2 answers
Reg C. Sorry, cannot help here. The only loaf we make usually is Laucke Crusty white. At the moment making a grain loaf on setting 4 as we cannot access crusty white flour. The last one of these came out well. Regards Peter aka THe Bear
I have used whole meal flour with my regular blade (paddle).

I have an old Panasonic bread maker with a heart dispenser on top. Do I need to use the dispenser or just put the dried yeast into the machine?
1 answer
Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic
Hi Jude, without knowing the model we can't provide you the information, yeast normally goes directly into the pan. The dispenser is for fruit and nuts.

Hi Jen, the ingredients and the composition of them are slightly different hence the need for the differences in the measurements between the 2 countries.

Dose it have a gluten setting
3 answers
Hi Ernie. It doesn’t have a “button” for gluten but has a setting number for gluten recipes. Example; basic white #1, rapid white #2, etc., gluten free #12. It’s easy, you can make your breads.
Oh and by the way Ernie, they have two other machines as well... the top of the line one makes round artisan breads, a dream machine, although I’m very happy with my SD-2501.
Sorry Ernie, no can help with this one. Only make one typre of bread, crusty white. Fantastic loaf. Regards Peter aka THe Bear

Just tried the hot cross bun recipe but the fruit did not full in from the dispenser any ideas on what’s gone wrong
2 answers
Are you sure you had it on the correct menu setting? Not all settings open the dispenser. I don’t know, just a thought.
Me too! I am having exactly the same problem with the hot cross bun program 17. The mechanical release on the fruit and nut bin seems to be operating well, and the flap drops easily when you trigger it manually when out of the machine. But whatever automatic mechanism causes the grey pin on the machine lid to shoot out and trigger the dispenser is not working. Any ideas, anyone? Anyone know at what stage of the program it is supposed to drop, I would be happy to add the fruit manually then?

Hi, my panasonic SD-206 is making a labouring noise on mixing, and loaves are not rising, is the recipe to dry or is my machine failing?

Hi, a mystery this one. We ONLY use Laucke flour, crusty white, extra large loaf and follow recipe from book exactly. Sorry cannot help with the labouring noise. Peter aka THe Bear

Hi Jenny, given the age of this machine I'm sure you have had some practice using it in the past. if you are still using the same recipe that you have always used it sounds like the unit may have developed a fault. Given this was first sold in 1998 we wouldn't stock parts any longer. It maybe time for an upgrade. We have some great new product that we might be able to interest you in :)

I do have a new one ordered, but was trying to work out if it was my machine, or the fault of yeast, or bread mix. Just because its old does not mean it gets to retire, I don't! LOL .

Hi, I just got this machine and am learning. In the manual it has a circle with a cross through it on most of the dough and jam mixes. Does this mean I cant do it in machine?

Call the number in the manual and ask for assistance.Good luck!
I think this symbol means you can’t put on a time delay for that recipe

Hi there. I just bought the SD2501 yesterday and made my own basic bread today. However, the tip of the bread didn't turn brown. The side of the bread nicely baked. Is there any specific reason for this thing? Thank you

Hello Sam, before u press the start button another button should be pressed. Whether u want light, medium or dark. Just press the one u want, we like medium but, if you want darker so press the darker, Good luck
I did that but still didn't work.
Hi Sam. I don’t know either, if you followed the correct amounts for the size of loaf and of course the dark/medium/light setting. Best to call Panasonic with your question, I’m sure someone will have the answer for you.

How do i clean my machine after years in the garage? It smells musty but does turn on.
4 answers
I would just let it sit out on the counter for a couple of days. You’re cannot immerse the unit in water so I would give it a good wipe out with a damp cloth and the outside with maybe with a damp cloth a maybe a drop dish soap.
Or better yet, call Panasonic and ask them what they suggest.
Thank you. So do you think it's safe to use, mould-wise?

I have a SD-250, I want the machine to start immediately. But all I have is a 4 hour delay. Any ideas?
2 answers
My neighbour and one and he advised and showed me, the machine does not start immediately. It unlike other bread machines just sits there and then eventually starts.
Very strange as the web sites all say, when it is at REST the machine still stirs.
It might be advisable for Panasonic to indicate this in their manual, as I almost returned it to the supplier.
Hi
Make sure your time matches the menue number and/or NO TIME is added as extra to the total time.
The majority of the total time is for rising and baking is only about less than an hour.
I would turn it off for hours then turn on and supervise the machine and film for a minute every hour and send it to the Factory.
Good luck
