Peugeot 308 Allure Premium - Solid, Beautiful and Economical
Got this as a replacement for a 2011 308 Wagon 6 months ago. The model I got is a 2015 Allure Premium Diesel wagon used by Peugeot and had done 9000km. Have done close to 20000km now and time to share my experience.
First impression is that these 2 are entirely different cars. New model although lighter than the previous generation feels solidly planted on the road. May be the suspension and aerodynamics have been improved much and feels much better to drive than the previous generation. Turning circle is also feels smaller making it muc...Read more
h easier to navigate turns with limited space. Main area when I look at the new car is the interior. This is again very different in the new generation but it is certainly an improvement. Windscreen is not big as the previous version which makes it feel less spacious but we rarely use the back seats and with front seats moved to the back space is not an issue. Most of the controls have been moved to the screen and number of buttons are very few. This minimalist design is something I like and using the screen based controls is easy once you get used to. Steering wheel has a few more buttons but is still minimalist. Allure and above have electronic parking brakes and it makes the centre console very neat and nice. Overall from my perspective although it takes some time to get used to it is a design I really like. The model I got came with very comfortable and nice Alcantara seats and the glass roof provides a very spacious feeling. Sound system is pretty good and the built-in jukebox is also a useful feature. Exterior design is also very appealing and it is with a lot of reluctance that I installed roof bars and bicycle carriers since the original aesthetic is very appealing. We often have the rear seats folded to carry bicycles and this can be done easily with the 2 levers at the rear.

A year and 30,000km later this is going really well. Have done some long trips as well and fuel consumption is great. E.g. Melbourne to Adelaide in 1 tank. Front brakes were done at 55k and given tha... Read more
t the car is used in heavy morning and evening traffic for 4 days/week, it is not unexpected. 60k service was $865 and a bit on the high side but other intervals are around $500. I service the car exactly as recommended by Peugeot. Happy affair so far and this car is practical and enjoyable.
