Hello. If I purchase this item online on EBay (brand new) is the warranty still valid? I notice some people return to the store of purchase if they have an issue. Buying online won’t allow me to do that, so what would be my option if I have an issue ?

Hi Petrina,

Thank you for the question - you can often return the appliance to an online store as well, but, rest assured, all products come with warranty. You can read more about the policy here: https://www.philips.com.au/c-w/support-home/warranty.html. We hope this helps!

Hi.... Sorry, I have only used mine a couple of times so I am not an expert. I think it depends on what you are cooking, for example, when you cook chicken schnitzels with a normal frypan, the oil can bubble after a while. I hope this helps.

I am not sure as to what you mean but after the cooking cycle is complete and you have removed the food
you press the Power button on the machine's control panel and the switch off at the wall
Hope you can sort it out or give the retailer a call or the Philips customer service.

Nothing, just needs cleaning inside top. Thick soapy hot water cloth, wiped around, then rinsed with clean water. Needs doing each time fatty foods cooked. Good luck.

Dolores forgot to say after cleaning leave open turn on highest setting for a couple of minutes to burn off residue. Also Phillips Customer Service are great just phone. Good luck.

Philips
Philips S.Philips

Hi Dolores! Sorry for the delay in our response. It's good to keep in mind that any fat or juices that drip out of the food onto the bottom of the pan will burn and cause smoke (just like in a normal pan or oven). So to make sure this stays to a minimum, we'd recommend cleaning the pan and basket after every use, and the inside of the Airfryer every now and then. Unfortunately, fat has a habit of sticking and it's sometimes hard to spot, so it helps to wipe the basket and pan off with a paper towel after cleaning, to check if all the fat is truly gone. Hope this helps! But if not, as Val D said (thanks for the compliment by the way), please don't hesitate to reach out to our colleagues on 1300 363 391 (AU) or 0800 658 224 (NZ).

Hi,
I am close to buying this product, have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to! :-) I am trying to find out if you can cook 2 different things at once in the air fryer - chicken breasts or steak and roast vegies?
Thank you

penegeau
penegeau

Hi! You could if they'd both fit. The basket is quite small about the size of a large bread and butter plate in base. (but quite deep in the walls) But certainly not as big as a dinner plate. Depending on the sizes of your steak and chicken breasts you'd probably only fit 1 steak if its a big big one or 1 steak and 1 chicken breast if they're pretty average sized. Say, about the size of your palm of your hand kinda thing. Not sure you'd fit a whole lot of veggies in there with the meats as well.

If you live near a big w or good guys or harveys or something go take a look at the size of the basket and you'll see what i mean. It might help give you a bit of a better idea, then order the appliance online if it's cheaper (which, lets face it, it almost always is lol)

As for the cooking of different things at the same time, i think you totally could. You'd just have to check the food a few times as i think they may take different times. And you'd have to choose a temp somewhere in between their instructed cooking temps.

But we've used ours to cook multiple different things at the same time, its just that some get cooked faster than the others and so are done and ready to eat sooner. We've done a meat pie in with spring rolls and i've even cooked quiches in dariole molds at the same time as cheese scrolls etc. The machine will stop after a few mins if you tell it to then you can just check it and press the star button and she will go again at the same time and temp :) or you can pause the machine and open it and have a look. Its much more convenient when checking foods than a big oven cos it takes almost no time for it to get hot and start cooking again once you've opened the draw.Ovens seem to take ages to get their heat back :)

Essentially, air fryers are mini fan forced ovens. So if you can cook anything in an oven, you can cook it in the air fryer.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the time to ask your question here, Sandy. When you try to set the cooking time, have you already selected the temperature at which you want to cook? Once the temperature is selected, you can turn the knob and the time should change. Could you let us know if this helps? If the problem persists, please don't hesitate to contact us on our Customer Service Line: AU 1300 363 391, NZ 0800 658 224. Hi there, just bought the XXL HD 9651 model. I just received it but I noticed that the basket mesh is not flat as in it has a wave in the middle. I can pressed it and it goes up and down. Is that normal? I can imagine the my small pie would not sit evenly on the wave part. Thanks!

Hi,
I can’t say mine has a wave in it, but yes it’s not completely flat either.
I have never actually cooked s pie but I think it would be ok.

Deb P

I would say mine is not completely flat either. As a fellow user could you tell me if you can adjust the temperature in 5 degree Fahrenheit increments? Mine is only adjustable in 25 degree increments. For example, I can adjust from 350 to 375 to 400, but could not adjust in smaller increments as many recipes call for. Can’t seem to get a good answer from Phillips. Thank you!

Squid

Mine is in Celsius because we don't use Fahrenheit in Australia and New Zealand. Mine adjusts in 5 deg C increments, maybe the Fahrenheit model doesn't. Best to contact Philips US.

Hello there, I purchased my Air Fryer XXL about 3 weeks ago and have used it on 5 occasions. I’m very pleased with speed and quality of cooking . However the ‘drawer’ does not appear to sit flush with the base, leaving a slight gap on either side and sits slightly offset against unit. I have tried moving drawer in and out several times. I must admit I don’t recall if this was the case when first purchased. I’m wondering if this will have any impact on the unit whilst cooking ?
If it is to go back to Philips repairer, I live 4 .5 hours drive away!

Philips will repair the appliance under the warranty (2 years) but you have to deliver appliance to them and collect it. I have no experience with Philips service as I have had no problems. Never forget that you also have powerful protection under the statutory warranty laws e.g. the appliance must be ''fit for purpose'' . That means if you end up with a real lemon then Philips would have to replace the appliance with one that meets that purpose. That could be new or a totally 100% reconditioned one.
I doubt a company of Philips stature would not act ethically in the event of a real major problem.
When I check reviewers comments I always check all the reviews they have mad. One reviewer, for example, of a Philips Air Fryer was scathing and very critical. I checked all her/his reviews of various products which were 11 in total at that time. Every single review was 1 star and extremely negative. What are the odds? So I ignored that particular review.
