After preheating the fryer, when I try to set the cooking time and turn the knob nothing happens. Is the machine faulty or am I not setting the cooking time properly? Please help as I absolutely love my airfryer.
1 answer
Philips S.Philips
Thanks for taking the time to ask your question here, Sandy. When you try to set the cooking time, have you already selected the temperature at which you want to cook? Once the temperature is selected, you can turn the knob and the time should change. Could you let us know if this helps? If the problem persists, please don't hesitate to contact us on our Customer Service Line: AU 1300 363 391, NZ 0800 658 224. Or, if you prefer, you can always reach out to us on our social media channels. There, we're available 24/7. We hope to hear from you.

Hi, I just purchased a Philips XXL Avance air fryer. My temperature of my air fryer can only be adjusted in increments of 25 degrees. I emailed support and they said it should adjust in increments of 5 degrees and said to call thechelp desk...of course they are closed now. My air fryer is defaulted to display in Fahrenheit. Does anyone else have that problem?

I had problems with my airfryer button not working correctly and it actually would sometimes let me set time/temp and then other times wouldn't change. I sent it back for exchange as I had only had for 1 month.

This is not a valid phone #. Is there a missing digit? I just want to know if my Philips XXL Avance air fryer only adjusts in 25 degree increments. Could someone from Philips just answer yes or no. This is my 2nd Airfryer as the first one arrived damaged, and I don’t want to go through the hassle of returning if this is normal for my Airfryer. Thank you.

Hi there, just bought the XXL HD 9651 model. I just received it but I noticed that the basket mesh is not flat as in it has a wave in the middle. I can pressed it and it goes up and down. Is that normal? I can imagine the my small pie would not sit evenly on the wave part. Thanks!

Hi,
I can’t say mine has a wave in it, but yes it’s not completely flat either.
I have never actually cooked s pie but I think it would be ok.
I would say mine is not completely flat either. As a fellow user could you tell me if you can adjust the temperature in 5 degree Fahrenheit increments? Mine is only adjustable in 25 degree increments. For example, I can adjust from 350 to 375 to 400, but could not adjust in smaller increments as many recipes call for. Can’t seem to get a good answer from Phillips. Thank you!
Mine is in Celsius because we don't use Fahrenheit in Australia and New Zealand. Mine adjusts in 5 deg C increments, maybe the Fahrenheit model doesn't. Best to contact Philips US.

Hello there, I purchased my Air Fryer XXL about 3 weeks ago and have used it on 5 occasions. I’m very pleased with speed and quality of cooking . However the ‘drawer’ does not appear to sit flush with the base, leaving a slight gap on either side and sits slightly offset against unit. I have tried moving drawer in and out several times. I must admit I don’t recall if this was the case when first purchased. I’m wondering if this will have any impact on the unit whilst cooking ?
If it is to go back to Philips repairer, I live 4 .5 hours drive away!

Hello Susie, thanks for getting in touch. We're glad to hear that you like the Airfryer. :) The slight gap should do no harm, but we agree this is not how it should be, but we can assure you that this won't have any negative effect on the cooking process. If you feel like discussing this further we advise you to call our colleagues on the below number for further assistance:

I bought mine in January 2022 and the drawer gradually crept outwards, creating the same gap that you mention. I took it back to the retailer today (June 2022) and they replaced it with no hassle.

Had just decided on the air-fryer make and model to purchase - Phillips Model 9651/91 - where the best buy was and the cash back. And then read comments on this review site, about purchasing accessories.!!! Do I need to purchase many accessories to use this appliance as noted in Astralyz's comments above. In other words is this unit complete or is it necessary to buy additional accessories?

Hi Mazzab,
this is not the model i have, but i have seen it, there are limited accessories and i didnt need to buy any for my model for normal operation

thank your response appreciated.

Hi Mazzab, thanks for your question. Happy to hear you consider purchasing the AirFryer! The accessories are not essential for using but do give you some extra options, like using your Airfryer to bake muffins and bread.

I have done some investigation on the ‘taste the difference air roaster’ but wasn’t thrilled with the only two reviews I found. However I am very impressed by two things related to your product. One is the positive reviews and the other is that you reply to all reviews, questions etc. However the difference between your products and a few others is the size. It seems to me that you don’t have an air roaster that allows you to cook a roast meal or any meal really for a family of around 5 or 6 people. Which, if I have it right, is a shame given the apparent quality of your product. Please confirm or advise otherwise.
Thanks, Sandra

Thanks for your reply. I am still considering it for myself as the reviews are great - better than the others I have checked. And since posting the above question I have looked further and it appears that there are only one or two that can do things like roast chickens etc. Thanks again. Sandra.

Hi there, Sandra!
Thank you for showing interest in our products. We advice you to take a look at our selection of Airfryers with the largest capacity on this comparison page: https://bit.ly/2k0uDWx. They have a maximum capacity of 1.4 kg, large enough to handle a whole chicken for example. We hope this information will help you decide which Airfryer suits you and your family best.

Hello,
Thank you for your question. We’re sorry to hear that your Airfryer isn’t working anymore. We understand that this must be annoying. Have you already tried taking the plug out and putting it back in? This sounds simple, but in many cases this helps resetting the Airfryer. Hope this helps! Should this not work, please call our specialists at 1300 363 391 (Australia) or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) for further assistance.
Thank you.

I was wondering if you were able to get your unit to work? I have just encountered the exact same thing and in the process of sending in photos of my airfryer, receipt etc.
Mine also did this one year and three months from purchase. Philips refused to replace. Offered 15% off another purchase. Extremely disappointed that they won't stand behind an expensive product.

I would love to own one of these airfryers but have read many reviews from people that have not had good experiences with this and other models. How does Phillips deal with the problems? Are the appliances replaced, repaired or refunded? I am reluctant to go ahead and buy one as I do not wish to have a battle to have an expensive appliance work as it should.

Hi there,
I've only had my airfryer for a month - so far - excellent performance :) so I cant answer your question about Philips responsiveness except to say that it came with a one year replacement guarantee
Thank you. That is encouraging to know.
Philips will repair the appliance under the warranty (2 years) but you have to deliver appliance to them and collect it. I have no experience with Philips service as I have had no problems. Never forget that you also have powerful protection under the statutory warranty laws e.g. the appliance must be ''fit for purpose'' . That means if you end up with a real lemon then Philips would have to replace the appliance with one that meets that purpose. That could be new or a totally 100% reconditioned one.
I doubt a company of Philips stature would not act ethically in the event of a real major problem.
When I check reviewers comments I always check all the reviews they have mad. One reviewer, for example, of a Philips Air Fryer was scathing and very critical. I checked all her/his reviews of various products which were 11 in total at that time. Every single review was 1 star and extremely negative. What are the odds? So I ignored that particular review.

Bought a philips air fryer, love it, but when one batch of food is done I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes to use the fryer again, or it will shut off 1 or 2 minutes into cooking if I don’t. Fryer is a HD9621 or HD96622. Any ideas?

Dear philips team,
Need your advice, i cant decide which philips airfryer to buy either the avance collection xxl hd9650 1.4 kg or hd 9428 xl 1.2kg. I looked into the comparison however couldnt get much, all i know is the hd9428 has the gril pan and its smaller capacity. In hd9650 doesnt have the grill pan, can i still grill food in it? Which one is better option to buy can you please advice
Thank you
Sako
1 answer
Philips S.Philips
Hi Sako! Thanks for your interest in our Airfryers. We'd happy give you some extra perspective, however it ultimately boils down to personal preference. However there currently isn't a grill pan for the XXL and also no news in regards to that, we wouldn't be surprised if eventually some accessories pop up for that model as well. This might take some time though, and we can't guarantee it. So for now the XL might be the better choice in your case, as you'd like to use the grill pan.
Good luck with making your decision. If you want to discuss this further with us, please reach out to us on 1300 363 391.

Hi Patrick, thanks for your question.
We would like to congratulate you with your new purchase. However as you describe it, it hasn't been as festive as we would've hoped. As it seems the device doesn't work from the get-go we would advise to get in touch with the retailer where you've purchased the product and telling them the Airfryer was Dead On Arrival. If you don't get the help you're looking for at the retailer, feel free to contact our customer care at 1300 363 391 (AU). If you're located elsewhere, please find us through http://philips.com/support/.
We hope a working Airfryer XXL may grace your household very soon so you can experience the convenience it has to offer. :)
