I love this machine.
I had a different air fryer which the non stick coating was coming off, so I replaced it with the philips and couldn’t be happier with its performance. Love it.

One of the best appliances you can have in your kitchen
I had the old ones. But needed a bigger one. I do love these things. I make a bbq chicken in it every week. Takes 60 mins. I cut it up and make wraps for boys school lunches. The kids can also just put things in it when they get hungry. Party pies, spring rolls, fish etc... get it it’s worth it. I couldn’t live without this. One of best things Phillips has ever made. I can’t fault it.

Great product though a little small for accessories
I admit I purchased the Philips Turbostar last year but only started using it regularly in the last 6 months. I had used it a few times to cook chips but wasn't really sure what else I could use it for.
The machine came with no instructions and no recipe book. Recently I joined a few facebook groups and I recommend anyone wanting to purchase an airfryer do this also. There are so many tips and recipes on these pages - it really gives you the confidence to try many different things.
I purchased this product from Good Guys eBay store and it ca...Read more
me with a free grill plate. I have not really used this very much as I am finding the basket suits my needs at the moment. My main problem with this model is that it is so small that I have found it near impossible to find cooking tins that will fit in it. The shape of the basket makes this a problem also. Unfortunately due to sheer frustration I ended up purchasing the philips baking tin which is hugely overpriced. Luckily I had a discount voucher for a tv shopping network and managed to pick it up for just under half price. Please be aware of this when choosing your airfryer! I find the turbostar relatively easy to clean - apparently it can be cleaned in the dishwasher but I prefer to wash by hand. I also do not cook anything that splatters much so that helps with keeping it clean. I would recommend purchasing a Philips airfryer do to the quality and ease of use - but just be aware if purchasing this that the size may be an issue and the lack of instructions can be frustrating. For this I have taken off one star.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Favourite Kitchen Appliance
I wish I got on to this earlier - what a huge time save and another means of cooking healthy meals. We've cooked all sorts of delicious meals in ours (stuffed capsicums, fish cakes, roast chicken, pork, vegetables, bread, scotch fillet, seafood - list goes on), yet to make chips! Results are always consistent and perfectly cooked, locked full of flavour and juicy. Cleaning is easy - removable parts straight into the dishwasher. Only part a little hard to clean is the top element. I cant rave enough about this air fryer. Will be purchasing accessories to try baking recipes

Must have appliance
Something we always postponed buying as we thought it was not a need. Had been so handy since day one. For day to quick meals this has turned out to be a hit- convenient and cheaper to use as an alternate to an electric oven. We are buying the second one for our daughter and son in law.

Terrific product we can't do without
This is a great product. Robust build and easy to use. Cleaning is simple and it's easy to keep clean. Fits well on the kitchen bench which helps our frequency of use. There are so many things you can cook with this unit, chips, pies, veggies and meat. Being able to stop start is great for multiple items needing various cook time. Overall a great product and a must have for the kitchen if you want fast clean low energy cost cooking

Very good
I use this mainly for making chips and spring rolls. I owned a tefal air fryer previously and both have their pros and cons. I liked how the tefal stirred the chips whereas as the Phillips one you have to shake the tray half way through.
Having said that I prefer the temperature control you have with the Philips, something that was missing with the tefal. It is also quicker in cooking food than the tefal and a more compact design.
Overall I prefer the Philips as it could be used to cook many different things. It makes good chips and spring r...Read more
olls This air fryer makes crispy chips and cooks food well with little oil. The basket style means you can use it for lots of types of food. I like that it cooks things quickly. You can adjust the temperature too which is handy. It's fast and cooks things evenly as long as you five chips a shake half way through. It's easy to clean and reassembly is simple.Similar opinion? Excellent for one
I only have myself to look after, and have found the air-fryer one of my best buys.
It is excellent for what I cook or heat, as it is:
so much faster to cook with than a conventional oven,
low cost to use,
does not heat the house like an oven does,
and easy to clean.
I use it several times a week in the cooler months.
It has the added benefit of healthy cooking, and its size is sufficient for one person....Read more

Forget the cheaper brands.
I originally purchased a Phillips XL Air fryer and loved it but found it a little small. When Aldi launched their Ambiano brand airfryers, I bought two and both failed at their first use. I had one refunded and one replaced. The Aldi replaced one is temperamental and overheats and cuts out on a regular basis. I then purchased a Smith and Noble 10 litre and within weeks the catch holding the basket in failed, making it very dangerous. I then purchased the Phillips XXL and I cant understand why I bothered with trying such inferior products to the...Read more
XXL, just because they were cheaper. The drawer mechanism on the Phillips is far superior to other brands, the heating is much more even and cooking is much quicker. The new model XXL has the bottom of the basket as a removeable mesh grid which makes cleaning very easy. I purchased the extra grill plate for the bottom and I am very glad I did. Its a brilliant machine, with no nonsense hassles, and very good quality. You truly do get what you pay for.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Indispensable kitchen workhorse!
I first purchased the smaller sized Philips XL Airfryer, but found it too small for meals for 2 adults, and the occasional additional person. However the concept was so brilliant that after one month I sold the XL and purchased the larger XXL size. The Airfryer does all “brown” cooking, i.e. baking, dry-frying, grilling. It sits on my bench-top and we use it at least once every day. It bakes fish for two people in 10 minutes to perfection. No oil needed, the fish cooks in its natural oil - seared on the outside and moist on the inside. Same fo...Read more
r steak. Even whole roasts a small whole chicken with veggies. Just set the timer and leave the Airfryer to do its magic. We’ve been using it every day for 15 months, sometimes multiple times per day – great for students to quickly cook packaged snacks like oven bake fish, pies, sausage rolls – in 10 minutes rather than 20-30 minutes in conventional oven. There is no preheating. Just put the food in and set the temperature and time - although most foods cook on the maximum 200 degrees setting. Uses much less power than a conventional oven. For best potato chips, soak the potatoes in water first to wash off surface starch before airfrying in a tsp of oil, salt, rosemary. I recommend watching the videos that are on Youtube. The only negative I’ve found is that the design of the Airfryer makes it difficult to clean fat-splatter from the roof of the Airfryer behind the element where I can’t get a steel pad through all the way. (The drawer parts can go in the dishwasher). Stale fat smells when re-heated – so it really is necessary to clean the fat from behind the element, even semi-frequently. I haven’t checked out other brands but if the element is at the top in other airfryers, then the cleaning problem will be the same as for the Philips Airfryer. If a better design hits the market that is easier to clean I will swap over. Apart from the fat collection being difficult to clean, the Philips XXL Airfryer is the most useful appliance in our kitchen next to the water kettle. It’s a workhorse and is indispensable! I bought my Airfryer when Philips were offering $50 Mother's Day cashback promo. I later bought another one for a wedding gift. NB: I also purchased the Aldi Airfryer because it looked easier to clean than my Philips Airfryer, but returned it for refund after a week because it was too noisy and also the cooking drawer didn’t slide smoothly and frequently was fiddly to close properly. It doesn’t have sliding tracks like the Philips Airfryer does. The Aldi Airfryer is much cheaper and is inferior in quality to the Philips Airfryer.Similar opinion? I’m now an air fryer convert
Our new home in rural WA had a really basic oven, so I got an air fryer after seeing my Mum using her small one for simple meals like fish and chips, when I visited her. It has far exceeded my expectations as I use it for more and more meals. For example, I cooked a fairly complicated fish pie dish in the baking dish insert for guests and everyone found it delicious - the fish cooked perfectly in the tomato based sauce and the filo pastry on top browned to perfection. Just the other day I put some leftover soup in the same cooking dish to rehea...Read more
t and added some mashed potato and Kumera, sprinkled a little grated cheese and 12 mins later, there was the most deliciously browned mash I’ve ever seen. My husband and I think the roast veggies turn out even better than when I did them in my Smeg oven in another home. I could go on....but I will conclude my highly recommending this cooker for the quality of meals it produces and for the ease with which you can clean it - my husband does the dishes and he loves how the basket sections split out easily for separate washing. Get it!1 comment

Simply magic
We love our Philips air fryer and use it most days. Fabulous for just the two of us. No need to use the large oven anymore for small quantities. Air fryer is super easy to use, clean and very economical to run......highly recommend and nothing negative to say.

Excellent quality airfryer
Recently bought Philips airfryer to reduce our oil intake and for healthy cooking.
Was little skeptical regarding food quality of air fried food over conventional cooking methods but surprised with quality.
Its simple to use with no fuss and excellent food quality.
Price may be bit higher as compared to other brands but can get this product at discounted price with different offers.
Would recommend this product because of its build quality, simple usage and excellent cooking.

How did I survive pre air fryers?
I find this fantastic. The number one benefit is zero preheat time. The added bonus is it’s up on the bench top away from kids and easy to set and leave. The fact that chips and deep fried options taste even better in it is an added bonus. The closer, it’s all dishwasher safe

My favorite and most used kitchen appliance
This appliance has been a godsend with an allergy child. I had previously thought air fryers were an appliance that were just for those looking for a healthier alternative to deep frying but this is so much more. Most foods cook substantially quicker than a traditional oven so it makes for low fuss cooking
Pros
It cooks quickly
Preheating is often unnecessary
It’s not overly loud
Food quality is superb
Saves time with most recipes over and above pre heating of a traditional oven
Cons...Read more
Cleaning however could be a little easier. I purchased a second air fryer and it’s noticeably easier to clean (Bellini) Cost - they’re substantially more than other air fryers I’d love it to be a tiny bit larger (it is however larger than most on the market) We regularly cook whole roast chicken, fries, roast vegetables, meat, homemade nuggets and store bought fries. Meat is always perfectly tender and retains moisture and the foods that should be crispy are crunchy like fries and nuggets. I’ve recommended the machine to a number of friends.1 comment

Absolutely love this airfryer. We use it several times a week and it has saved us so much time. It is so convenient and produces high quality foods, just as an oven would in half the time. We are a family of 4 and we easily cook meals for the entire family in it. Highly recommend.

Hello, I purchased a Philips XXL airfryer.. the first time I made chicken bbq in it, it worked. The second day I again tried to make chicken but it's fan didnt turn on; no sound of fan. The airfryer was heating up, and I could feel some heat coming out of the vent at the back of machine. I took it to the shop they replaced it without checking.
Now after 1 year, same problem has occurred. I used it last night. It was perfect. Today when I tried using it, fan is not on as no sound of it. And, the airfryer is heating up and heat can be felt near the cent at the back of it. Please help as in the condition these days, I cant take it to service centre.
