Does the job

published

Very expensive breast pump I bought it for $300 in 2015 and have used it both then and in 2017 after I had my second child.. it definitely does the job well, slowly but surely depending on how much milk you’re making, so it can be a bit time consuming considering its a single. Only major con for me was that is it is super noisy!!

Great Starter Pump

published

This is a good option for a once in a blue moon pump. I used this every day for 3 months as my baby didn't latch. I eventually found it wouldn't pump that well comparing to other brands. It was comfortable to use. I generally used this pump for about 20 minutes 5 times a day.
Easy to clean, just chuck it in steamer once a day then leave in fridge at the back after each pump (drs suggestions)
Yeah I would use it again but have found better pumps that pump more and are gentler.

Lifesaver.

published

I used this pump about 4 times a day every day between weeks 1 and 10 and it never failed. Has three settings plus a let down setting you can use it on which was good. I had significant trauma so had to express and it was still very comfortable. A little noisy but it didn’t bother me. I also used this in the car because it takes batteries and took it camping. I just wish I had bought a double for the amount I used it. Would recommend for an affordable pump.

Great pump

published

This pump was very comfortable to use and I never had an issue with it.
I used the machine for around 30 minutes several times a day and it worked great each time and for the time using it.
The product comes apart easy making cleaning each piece of the product easy.
I would definitely use this pump again being my first time breast feeding I didn’t have any issues.

A little disappointed

published

This product is easy to install and clean. However it is very loud. Can’t used it when others are asleep or baby is sleeping. So I had to go to another room and lock myself out when using it. I didn’t product a lot of milk back then. I found out my milk was wasted a lot in the pipe/straw. I gave up and I used hand pump into the bottle instead of this machine in the end. But it may be just my personal issue because I didn’t have enough milk.

Great product.

This machine rarely feels uncomfortable. All the accessories and attachments are fitted to the feeding bottles. It is easy to scrub and steam and hasn't aged while being kept very clean. In the beginning, it was used for longer periods and it remained comfortable the entire time it was used.

This is good for mums who are exclusively breastfeeding!!

published

It’s easy to clean, would recommend it for mums who use this only on the odd occasion, as it does take time to pump unlike the other brands like medela. I purchased this and it was faulty luckily I held onto the receipt therefore I was given an exchange! Would have preferred my money back as I could have purchased a medela as I was exclusively pumping!

Not for me

published

It was easy to assemble and use, but the flanges are by far too big and I could not find any other sizes available for purchase anywhere. I used it twice, got no milk out, and it made me bleed both times. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Gentle but effective

published

I have trialed a number of different brand pumps and Avent is by far my favourite. It is gentle on my nipples whilst being able to express the most milk. This made my breastfeeding journey so much easier and ensured I had a few bottles prepared in the freezer for emergencies. Would highly recommend this pump to any mother.

Easy to use

published

I found this quick and easy to use. In the first week I sent my husband a list of things to get this was the one he purchased! In the haze of newborn days I figured out how to use this pretty quickly. There are 3 options slow, medium and fast suction. At the beginning there is 'prepping' button which helps start milk flow. I found these to be comparable with my Avent baby bottles. In hindsight. I like that it can be battery operated, and can be taken everywhere. The cord for the pump is long enough so you can pump in the chair or in the comfort of your own bed. It isn't very loud either.

Good and comfortable breast pump

published

Purchased this pump since bub was 2 weeks old to use occasionally. Even now after 6 months i am using it without any troubles. i found it very comfortable to express, easy to clean & assemble. The best thing about the pump is it is both electric & battery operated which makes it super convenient to use. I don't think so i would have been able to continue breastfeeding without this Philips Avent Single electric pump.

Great for New Mommies!

published

My husband bought this for me few months ago. I found it very easy to use and gentle on my breast. I don't have any complaints on it. He bought this around $250 yet it is so worth it with its high quality. I would highly recommend this to new moms.

Good option for helping with breast feeding

published

Purchased this pump to help with sharing the overnight feeds with my partner. I have used it almost every day since purchasing it. Despite the fairly costly price tag, it had been a huge help with the feeds and I’m glad I paid a little extra to get the electric, not the manual pump. The only thing I would say is that it is sometimes a little hard to create the seal around the pump and breast to get the milk flowing.

Not bad

published

This pump was good in that it did the job. Its quiet so it won't wake up your baby in the middle of the night. It's also easy to use and clean as all the part come apart easily. I found that it could've been stronger which means it takes just that bit longer to get what you need. Overall it's a decent pump.

Love this product

published

Never used breast pump before so was a bit hesitant when I bought this product. It was a good decision since I know that Philips products are always of good quality. I love this pump. Not much noise, easy to use and wash. A big plus was it was not hurting my breast when I had to pump a few times a day. Highly recommended.

It is a good quality product to use specially after you made sure that you have enough milk for your baby. It is not suitable for first days but it is good for rest of breast feeding.
It is simple to use and easy to clean with comfortable heads and connections

Not the best

published

I found this breast pump slightly harder to use and a lot weaker than the Medela ones used while in hospital.
The machine is recommended for use on each breast for 10 minutes, however after expressing I found my breasts were still half full and never emptied properly.
Its easy to clean and maintain. I probably wouldn’t purchase this or recommend it to anyone again.

Avent Comfort Single Electric

So... I got one second hand, ( i know its probably not recommended) Anyway, worked like a dream... wasnt too noisy and great milk output, and it just suddenly lost suction from the machine part whilst trying to express for approximately 10 seconds, then started again. Happened once to begin with. The next time it happened twice and then the 3rd time it stopped and just never started up again. You could hear it wasn't sucking at all. As I don't physically breastfeed due to latching issues I rely on the pumps and as shops close at 5.30pm, and that was the time I was expressing, I couldn't just pop to the shops and get another one, so resulted in getting yet another second hand one, which was SUPER noisy. So the early morning expression I had to leave the room to avoid waking up the baby and husband. At that point I decided I was getting new one and have the other as back up... So I got a new one. Was fine to begin with, pumping fine (still does), noise was fine.... but now after a couple of months it's starting to get noisy. I can still be in the same room as sleeping baby at this stage, just fear its going to get louder. Also with the return to work coming soon. I'm having a bit of anxiety about the noise so the questions are... 1. that first pump, is that how the die? 2. Why do they suddenly get noisy? Wear and tear? everything is plugging in correctly. As I am writing this I just pumped 500ml (1st expression of the day, but woo go me! - definitely no pumpjng issue)

Avent Comfort Single Electric

Can I use rechargeable 4 x 1.5V lithium batteries on the philips avent single electric breast pump, instead of the 4 x 1.2V Ni-MH batteries?
My spouse feedback to me that using the rechargeable 4 x 1.2V Ni-MH batteries, the pump action was not as strong as when using the power adaptor.
