I bought this pump when it was on special at toy r us. My mother in law suggest not to buy it at beginning as she thought I'd not necessary. But I insist to buy it. It's a good deal. As a new mum and lots of unexpected will come. As my baby is born with jaundice and he did not have the strength to suck my breast milk and luck I had pump with me

This is perfect

I bought this bump as I bought the same brand bottles first. It is really comfortable to use, which just likes baby's sucking. there are three levels to adjust the bump speed. After use, it is easy to clean and maintain. It is not too noisy when it is working.

Does what its supposed to do!

published

I bought this pump from Sydney PBC Expo 2017. Being a FTM, I didn't know much breast pumps but I know I can trust Philips which is why I picked this one up and I must say I am impressed. I use it to express milk and build my supply and it does a pretty good job. The suction isn't too aggressive which makes it easy and comfortable for me to express milk and its quite easy to clean too. The only con is that i have to use it a bit longer due to its gentle suction.

Lifesaver

published

Was my lifesaver as feeding was painful. It's very easy to assemble and maintain. Used it every 2-3 hours initially but only needed it twice a day for 10 minutes once the supply was established. Would have preferred the double pump especially during the early days when it took longer to get the required amount of milk but it still does the job. However, some of my Avent bottles couldn't be tightened properly and came off which caused spillage and wastage. A bit noisy too. All in all, still a great product.

Suits our use

published

Upon looking at different breast pump, checking features and product reviews, and giving consideration to price and brand name, we chose Avent Electric Pump. My wife found it quite okay to use. It was a bit noisier than the brand that she tried at the hospital, but since it's more of home use, it was fine. Also the fact that we like the shape of the curvy Avent Natural bottle, we decided to make this pick.

In terms of suction, it would be awesome if Philips can make some adjustment and provide more suction power.

Reliable and effecient

published

This pump has been a life saver. I especially like the fact that milk can't flow back through the tubes (like the medala). It's easy to wash, assemble and use. The only slight problem I have with this pump is noise and portability (it's a bit bulkier than others) - but this is real pickiness because it's been a fantastic and reliable pump for me . I used another brand with my first child and found that it broke (couldn't seem to handle my milk abundance) and was a fiddlier clean.

Good but bot perfect

published

This is a machine that is really easy to assemble, easy to clean and mantain. I used evey 3 hours to express for around 4 months and works perfect. The only thing is that some times is not really strong but maybe is because i did not put it right on the place. Other than that is a really good machine and I will be using the same one in a future... Negative side, a bit noisy when I used during night time ☺️

Waste of money

published

Paid $250 for this and has the poorest suction I've come across so far in a pump.
Takes me 40 mins to express 60ml now whereas I used to express over 100ml in 20 mins
Terrible waste of money and I'm now having to purchase yet another pump to boost my milk supply again

Waste of time and money

Following instructions to the letter regarding set up and usage and with suction so poor it's a complete waste of time and money. I have good flow so 10-20ml in 20minutes is ridiculous. It's stops withdrawing any milk after 20mins sometimes even less though I can continue onhand express. It really let me down when we needed it most. At $200 I feel ripped off.

Poor suction

published

I bought it because my friends recommendation. After 2 weeks becoming a mother, using single electronic breast pump was so frustrating. Failed to get the suction. My hands are tired holding the part in order to establish the suction. I am so unlucky that the white valve was not included in my purchases. The price is not cheap in singapore. I definitely won't recommend my friends to buy it in the future.

Avent Comfort Single Electric

So... I got one second hand, ( i know its probably not recommended) Anyway, worked like a dream... wasnt too noisy and great milk output, and it just suddenly lost suction from the machine part whilst trying to express for approximately 10 seconds, then started again. Happened once to begin with. The next time it happened twice and then the 3rd time it stopped and just never started up again. You could hear it wasn't sucking at all. As I don't physically breastfeed due to latching issues I rely on the pumps and as shops close at 5.30pm, and that was the time I was expressing, I couldn't just pop to the shops and get another one, so resulted in getting yet another second hand one, which was SUPER noisy. So the early morning expression I had to leave the room to avoid waking up the baby and husband. At that point I decided I was getting new one and have the other as back up... So I got a new one. Was fine to begin with, pumping fine (still does), noise was fine.... but now after a couple of months it's starting to get noisy. I can still be in the same room as sleeping baby at this stage, just fear its going to get louder. Also with the return to work coming soon. I'm having a bit of anxiety about the noise so the questions are... 1. that first pump, is that how the die? 2. Why do they suddenly get noisy? Wear and tear? everything is plugging in correctly. As I am writing this I just pumped 500ml (1st expression of the day, but woo go me! - definitely no pumpjng issue)

Avent Comfort Single Electric

Can I use rechargeable 4 x 1.5V lithium batteries on the philips avent single electric breast pump, instead of the 4 x 1.2V Ni-MH batteries?
My spouse feedback to me that using the rechargeable 4 x 1.2V Ni-MH batteries, the pump action was not as strong as when using the power adaptor.
