Waste of money!
Wish I had seen this site before purchasing these myself - as others say they leak through very quickly. Possibly not enough layers to them as the milk soaked straight to the edges then wicked out to my clothing and that was during the first feed. I have another brand made from a different material that do not do this. Looks like I have an expensive delicate laundry bag from this purchase as that is all I can salvage from the box :-(

Don't buy them. Waste of money!
I really wanted to like these as I was spending so much money on disposable breast pads. I had these on for 20 mins and Yep, sure enough I had leaked right through and my bra and dress were saturated. Also my nipple got stuck to the pad as I removed it to nurse my daughter. I see others have had issues with their nipple sticking but Avents response doesn't seem good enough. I wish I could get a refund somehow! So disappointed.
Hi Melanie, that sounds unfortunate, indeed. We understand your concern and we're sorry you feel this way. Can you contact us on [email protected] about this? We would like to look into this to see if there's anything possible.
Leaked :(
I love Avent & their products & was so excited to try the washable breast pads. They are really soft, comfy & have a pretty lace backing, but they leak/soak right through!!!! I've ended up with a big wet patch on my top a couple of times now! Soooo disappointing :( I should have read these other reviews before I bought them!

Zero star
Started to leak straight away. Non absorbent. Cotton layer was wet. Had to change clothes.
Terrible product. Waste of $10

Terrible :(
I was so excited to purchase these as I've spent so much money on the reusable ones. The day I put them on I leaked, they didn't stay in place and my nipple got stuck to them which was so painful :( they also did not absorb anything and I had a pool of milk in the bottom of my bra as well as leaking through. Very disappointing as I love avent as a brand and buy many of their products!

Humiliation
I purchased these on special, i was wearing them when i went out to lunch with my baby and hubby. Sitting in the food court my breastmilk came through and i started leaking through my bra and two tops! I had only been wearing these for 10mins :( i was so embarrass and humiliated. I will never purchase these ever again!

I just put the pads and within five minutes, my clothes got soaked. I reposition it just to make sure and even change it, but still the same. I thought this is better cause its expensive and definitely i'm wrong! Within 10mins, i already used all three pairs and ended up in using the disposable again. Waste of money!

The Worst Breat Pads Ever
Please do not buy these pads. They are absolutely awful. I am not a heavy leaker and they do not absorb leaking breast milk. What is worse is the fluff sticks to your nipples! You can not trust that you wont have wet spots on your clothes while wearing these pads.

Waste of money
To conclude:
* The pads do not absord milk. Make your bras go wet!!
* The milk residue on my nipple is sticking to the pads. Feeling bad to unpeel them.
* Don't buy this product. Waste of money.
I end up putting thin liner for absorbent. And it works beautifully!!
Simply doesn't work!!

These are terrible!
I'm glad I got these on special because they are not worth how much they are! They didn't seem to absorb any milk at all, they ended up just feeling wet and cold not nice at all. They are the only ones I took with me to hospital and after my milk came in I woke up with a massive wet patch down my shirt. Also they are not discreet whatsoever you can clearly see the shape of them through shirts and bras. I don't know how they are still being sold. I got some pigeon disposable breast pads and they are so much better. This product reminds me why I should read reviews before purchasing stuff.
Washable, Pretty lace.
Don't absorb much if any, stick to nipples, not discreet, expensive for the quality.

Sadly, not worth the money.
I wanted to like this product. It would save me a Substantial amount of money if I were able to use them. Unfortunately, I found these breast pads to be terrible. They stick to te nipple, are not absorbent in the slightest and despite the lace backing, they move around an awful lot.
I have had terrible leakages using these, it seems that they do not absorb anything and I end up with a pool of liquid in the bottom of my bra.
Useless!
The wash bag that Accompanies the pads.
Not absorbent, sticks to nipple tissue, moves about in bra

Useless
These do not adsorb any milk. I tried them and they didn't work at all - lucky I was home that day as milk was all over my top. I thought it was because I hadn't washed them yet so I washed them and dried them in the sunshine. Tried them again today and it has still not adsorbed anything! I am so frustrated I am writing this review (something I don't usually do) and then will need to change tops. Don't waste your money. Buy disposable ones. Too bad for trying to help the environment and save money on disposable ones. These washable ones just don't work!
The concept of washable nursing pads
They do not work at all, completely non absorbent.

Nipple trauma which resulted in bleeding
As a first time mum I have been trying all different brands of breast pads as I had no idea there were such differences in shape and quality! I stumbled upon these reusable ones and gave them a go overnight. To my HORROR at a 3:30am feed while quite tired I whipped off my top grabbing the pad as I went and ripped the top layer of skin off the end of my nipple!
I feel compelled to tell everyone as this was quite traumatic and my easy natural breastfeeding had no nipple trauma before this incident. I now have bleeding nipple which had glued its...

Sort of worked, Sort of didnt.
I bought these after running out of disposable breast pads.
Whilst I originally liked the fabric, when you wore them and your milk leaked onto them, they dried all crusty. The fabric also started to tear.
It is also obvious that you are wearing breast pads as they bunch up in your bra. Through out the day id have to adjust them. The only good thing about them is the free little bag you get to wash them in.
the fabric originally, free delicates bag to wash your pads in
bunches up in your bra, milk dries crusty on them, too small, obvious your wearing breast pads

Absolutely useless!
I bought these when on holidays as I'd forgotten to bring breast pads (I usually use the pigeon ones). The pharmacy I went to only had these and so I bought them. I was interested to try washable ones, as I'd always used disposable ones. THEY WERE HORRIBLE!! I ended up with milk all down my front and the pads themselves didn't even feel like they'd absorbed anything! Initially I thought they were misplaced and had slipped, but nope, they just seemed to channel the milk straight down to wet my feeding top.
I find it hard to believe that a rep...

Waste of money
I found these pads to be useless. They hardly absorbed any milk and I found that my milk just pooled at the bottom of my bra cups and eventually ended up on my clothes. Yes they are soft but it's not very comfortable when your bra becomes wet. Don't bother buying them!
Soft
Everything else- non absorbent
Ugh! Waste of money
Barely absorbent, feels horrible on my skin (I have sensory issues with fabrics), leaks in the middle of the night and I don't have a particularly heavy let down anymore. I hate to think how they would've gone with my newborn leaks! I've even tried strip washing to make sure there's no buildup but it's just the pads :(
Hi @jaded girl
Sorry to hear about your experience....
Read more The washable breast pads have a brushed cotton lining which is soft and gentle against the skin. They feature an absorbent layer which draws moisture away from the skin behind a leak proof liner. These pads are not suitable for strip washing as we do not recommend that the pads are washed at temperatures over 40o C. Most customers find these pads very comfortable and absorbent but of course there are occasions when for various reasons this pad may not be suitable and then a Philips Avent disposable pad would be recommended. Hope this helps. Kind regards The Philips AVENT TeamThe pads were not washed at a high temperature. Strip washing was done on cold, with a few drops of washing up liquid, same way as with my sons' modern cloth nappies.

Disgraceful
After using this pads for only 4 days i felt the urge to come here and warn people that this is a terrible product. My complaints are pretty much what other have said: they stick to the breast and its quite painful to remove, they do not absorb more than a few drops of milk. At first i thought i was using it incorrectly because it leaked within 2 hours. Its just like wearing 2 bras, because the milk just goes straigh through it onto the clothes. What a shame.. Not to mention that they are so thick that it makes it OBVIOUS you are wearing nursin...
Read moreg pads. Would never wear these in public. Even at home i dont use anymore because they are useless. Cheap Dnt absorb more than a few drops, stick to the breast and are so thick and clearly visible so I would not wear it out in public. Not absorbent enough
They just need to be more absorbent. Other washable breast pads are better at absorbing milk. My milk went right through onto my clothes in just one feeding session. They seem to draw it straight across pad and into my clothes. I think they require a more waterproof layer or more absorbent material.

Soft, but not absorbent enough
I find there are pros & cons to these pads. On one hand they are softer than most of the disposable breast pads which is nice (more comfortable), but they are also smaller and I found that they moved around in my bra hence were not always in the right place. I also found that they were not absorbent enough so they would get wet right through and often milk could end up on my clothes.
For me, I use disposable breast pads during the day (Coles brand are my favourite) and then at night I used a disposable breast pad with an Avent washable pad on...

Terrible fit
I chose these breast pads primarily because they were washable rather than disposable. Unfortunately, they are very bulky and not contoured. You end up with a disc shape around your breast that is clearly visible through your clothes! I tried these when I first started breastfeeding but they stuck horribly to my nipples and were painful to unstick. I immediately abandoned the use of them and put up with leaky breasts soaking through my bras and tops. 3 months later, I thought to try these again (at home only - never out in public due to po...
Read moreor fit) as my nipples were not as painful and my milk had settled down. They seem to absorb milk leakages adequately and keep my bras and tops dry, but still stick a little to my nipples. Also, the lace that is designed to keep the breast pads in place is very daggy and old-fashioned, making these even more undesirable. Washable Terrible, unflattering fit. Too bulky and not at all discrete.- 11 reviews

Good
After 10 years of nanying and 6 years of motherhood, i swear by the whole avent range. I have 4 kids and have used the avent range with all of them, and these washable breastpads with all four. I found that they weren't absorbent enough when my babies were being fed regularly, but after a few months they did the trick. Yes you can see the outline thru your clothes, but you'll probably get that with any of the washable pads. Just wear thicker clothes or wear a disposable pad if wearing a thin shirt / top. Expensive but worth every cent as it saves you having to spend so much money on the disposable pads.
A great money saver
Not so good at the start when you are leaking a lot.

Reliable, good quality product
I recommend these, MUCH better than the paper throw away ones. They are a lot more confortable than other brands I've tried.

Terrible
I decided to buy reusuable breastpads and at this stage hadn't heard of the bamboo or wool equivalents. I tried the Avent washable and didn't really like them. They were quite bulky and didn't sit well against the breast and I found they were visible under clothing. They also weren't very absorbent and would show wet spots when I had a fast let down. If you are looking for reusuable breastpads I would invest in some bamboo or wool ones and they fit better and also are a lot more absorbent. While they are a bigger investment initially you will come out ahead at the end.

Excellent
Overall i really liked these breat pads. I am having my second baby and i have kept the ones from my first bub to use again. They did what they were supposed to. They sometimes slipped LOL but with a little one it is easy for that to happen.
I found that the lace on lace ( when i wore a lacy bra) with help it to stay on alot better.
I would recomend these because yes you have to wash them but they last as long as disposable because you have to change them quite regularly too, I found that 2 sets of these Avent reusable breast pads would last me a day, so that is 4 breast pads, even through let down :)
they are reusable, I found them pretty abrobant, they stayed where they were supposed to stay.
Cant use them at night time.
