Any Nespresso* compatible hot chocolate capsules will fit the L’OR machines and are available in supermarkets.
When I make hot chocolate I just use the milk heater/frother on my L’OR to heat the milk and use regular drinking chocolate powder in the mug, just as easy as a capsule and cheaper.
Thanks for that :)

I am very fussy with my milk temperature.
Can you confirm that the frother heats milk to 74C ?
Hope so - that is ideal for me.
Thanks

Actually, although its small, the frother worked great and it did get the milk very hot. I didnt take the temperature of the milk but it was hot! I remember being surprised because I'm very fussy about my milk as well. I took my whole machine back after a couple days. I was too use to my big breville espresso machine so the coffee that came out of this machine was disgusting IMO. I tried a few different brands as well but I just didnt like it. If you're not fussy about your coffee then the machine will probably work great for you because the frother works great.
Thank you for your input.
Much appreciated.
It creates a perfect temperature that mixes with the coffee very well and doesn’t make it so it’s boiling hot a good temperature so you can take a sip without burning your lips.
I have a seperate larger frother because it will do one cup at a time which is time consuming and takes time to cool down.
Very happy with the machine and if doing only one coffee it’s great to have.
Brett O.asked
Didn't any one notice when the machine was first used it tasted like plastic
4 answers
As part of the startup and first use they recommend you let the machine run without the pod in to clean out anything in the system. When I first used it I did that and didn’t have any issues myself
Thanks James and I did that even put boiling water thru it no pod and washed the water tank out still a plastic taste thanks for your help
Philips S.Philips
Hi Brett. Thanks for flagging this here. It's unfortunate to hear your new coffee machine isn't giving you the great tasting coffee you expected. We advise making a few cups of coffee with used pods to see if this improves the situation. In case it doesn't you can reach out directly to us on 1300 363 391 from Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm EST for Australia. Hope this helps. :)

Can the Philips L'OR Barista Latte use the L'OR capsules as well as the Espressotoria Vittoria Coffee Capsules??
I like to have many choices
2 answers
The L'OR Barista coffee machine has been designed to work with LOR Espresso single-shot capsules and LOR Barista double-shot capsules, as well as with Nespresso* capsules and aluminum capsules from coffee brands produced by Jacobs Douwe Egberts, such as Douwe Egberts, JACOBS, Jacqmotte, Jacques Vabre, Grand Mre, L'OR, Marcilla, Moccona, Saimaza and Senseo. https://www.lorespresso.com.au/siteassets/redesign-2019/user-manual-lor-barista.pdf
Personally as I like my coffee strong I always use the excellent L'OR Double shot capsules, these are the only double shot capsules that fit the L'OR Barista machine and there is a great range of blends with a wide variety of flavours. If you are happy with a single shot capsule then you can use either L'OR capsules or any of huge range of Nespresso* compatible capsules widely available.

I'm ready to purchase but confused with LM8014/60 and LM8018/90. What's the difference?
3 answers
There is no difference functionally, both machines have the same specification and will make coffee exactly the same, the only difference is, or was when I bought mine, the LM8014/60 is high gloss black and the LM8018/90 is a matte finish with aluminium trim.
Philips S.Philips
Hi Renee,
Tompatae is right, the only difference is the paint finish of the unit and it's parts. :)

Thanks Tompatae, Philips AU team, matte it is. Great deal going on with redemption and cash back.

I would like to know why my milk froth machine that is attached to the coffee machine will only do one lot of milk for one coffee, then if I try and do another amount of milk the button flashes and will not turn on then it stops flashing. What’s going on? Is it over heated? Why can I not make a couple of coffees.
Claireasked
How to heat milk up with the milk frother? I followed the instruction below from L'OR website. But, the temperature of the milk wasn't changed.(I used milk stored in refrigerator). brewing coffee works fine. I purchased my machine a few days ago. Does it mean my coffee machine is broken? or did I miss something? Your answer would be appreciated. Please.
------------------------instructions to heat milk from L'OR website
You can use your L'OR Milk Frother to heat milk without frothing it.
1. Detach the metal whisk from one side first
2. Remove the metal whisk and press the power button to heat up the milk
The milk is heated up to approx 74°C to ensure the best froth and taste. Milk
proteins start to break down and burn if the milk is overheated."

Evan S.asked
Two (and a half) long winded questions.
Firstly, there is a dimension discrepancy I'm curious about. I understand that the LM8012/60 does not include a milk frother and therefore the difference in width, but there is a height difference between the LM8018/90 and the rest of the range on this website. Is that a typo, the height with the lever down and other two with the lever up, or is there an actual height difference?
The half question. If it is a typographical error, like I believe it is, do the dimensions given include having the lever up if not what is the height of the machine with it up?
Second and last question, what is the capacity of the milk frother? From my experience with using a pod machine, when I have guests over, I spend more time waiting for milk than I do for the coffee. I could easily get 3-5 cups of coffee ready by the time 1 cups worth of milk is ready. We're not fussed about the right cup for the coffee at home, a mug just means less trips to make more. Just trying work out of we should buy the machine with the milk frother or save that extra expense and put it to a larger stand alone milk system.
Thank you

Hi Evan,
Thanks for your questions! We're not completely sure where you found the deviation in the dimensions. But they are exactly the same in depth and height. :)
- Width x Depth x Height in mm -
Without frother: 180x400x280
With frother: 263x400x280
Regarding the capacity, we weren't able to find that out. Please do consider reaching out to 1300 363 391 or contacting us on social media. Our support teams over there will surely be able to provide you with the information you're looking for.
