Anyway to unclip and slide out the clear plastic attachment inside the drum, top of the middle divider, for cleaning on the FC9350?

it's full of dust.

Looks like possibly a tool is required to depress something from the bottom of it maybe.

Hi! I have been using my Philips FC9921 PowerPro for 18 months now, and it has slowly started to decrease its suction power. The thing is, I have cleaned the filters as shown by Philips videos, and it's almost completely useless. Is it planned obsolescence and I have to buy a new one or might something other than dirty filters be going on? Thank you.

1 answer
Philips
Philips S.Philips

Hi Tania. Thank you for your question. We can imagine the inconvenience of your vacuum cleaner losing its suction power, so let's see how we can solve this for you. Could you please check whether anything is stuck in the nozzle or the hose? Another tip is to empty the dust bucket and make sure the filter cylinder is clean. The filter cylinder is located inside the filter cylinder case which is placed in the dust bucket. As you mentioned you have already cleaned the filters, we can rule that out as a possible cause. Should cleaning the dust bucket and the filter cylinder not improve anything, we'd like to ask you to get in contact with our support so that we can look into further options. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter (@PhilipsCare) or on our contact pages: https://bit.ly/2rzfAHh (AU) or https://bit.ly/2SN2aTy (NZ). We'll gladly look into this for you! Kind regards, The Philips Australia Team.

Hello Bilal,

Thanks for contacting us. We can see that your question is from two days ago, have you been able to close the lid already? You should insert the dust compartment a bit tilted before you click it back in. There should be a "click" sound as well. Please also check if anything is blocking the connecting parts. We hope this works.

Hi Teow,
It has washable foam filters. Recommended to be replaced once a year.
So far I've been washing the sponge filter at the back and cleaning the internal one by tapping it. A little bit messy but I guess it's a common thing with any bagless machine.

Hi Teow,

Dolores, there is no suction regulator on the Philips vac model FC 8472 ( and similar models FC 8470 - FC 8477 ) The slide on the hose near where you hold it only opens and closes for whatever reason I do not know, but, in doing so ( opening ) it does reduce suction . Hope this helps ... Edward, Gawler SA

Hi Dolores,
Good question! As Edward mentioned above, the regulator is usually located on the hose handle. You can use the sliding button to regulate the suction power.

Sounds like your filter needs cleaning or probably moreso, replacing.
This vacuum works great UNTIL the filter needs cleaning, then loses its usually excellent suction.
Target sometimes sells them but Google search will bring other suppliers.
In my experience, once you replace the filter (incredibly easy to do), the machine works as new again.

Hello Philips! I have been using the Powerpro compact FC8471 without issues for 2 months (it is brand new) and by accident, I vaccumed water that was in a carpet! After that, the engines starts but the machine just doesn't vaccum. Also, I noticed a new sucking sound every time I turn on and off the device and that the engine (which works) sounds less powerful. Anyhow, the machine doesn't vaccum. Please help me and tell me if there is something I can do other than disassembling and drying everything? Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Diego

Hi,
I'm seriously so in love with my vacuum cleaner (Philips PowerPro Compact 1800W) that I feel like a 1950's wife bragging about how good it is! I have used so many, have a dog and have never had anything that sucks everything with so much power! The only problem I've had is that the hose got stuck under my couch a month ago and when I tried to pull it out, it snapped off :( I had to use tape but it is no longer effortless and I find I am struggling holding it together whilst trying to clean. I have had a look online and can't find anywhere to buy a new hose. Is there anyway I can replace this or am I doomed to holding tightly whilst cleaning, or re buying again? :( Please help! A very big Philips fan!
