Average at best
The traction is not very deep, there is a lot of gap between the treat patterns like an $80 tyre and they give off a fair bit of road noise. They feel like they're wearing out very fast, and my car is not lowered or has any kind of negative camber. As I said these have the look, feel and sound of $80 tyres, not worth $170ea. I bought 2 of these, and I regret it.

Best tyre I've ever used. Period!
Currently a 2004 XR8 Ute. I travel 1200+ km per week at 75% country/highway 25% city & have been doing so for 23 years. My driving style varies from moderate to spirited & have tried many, many different tyres over the years. These Pirelli Dragon Sports (245/40/18) are the best by a long way. Quiet, comfortable ride yet grip extremely well front & rear, in wet or dry conditions even when pushed very hard (ie having fun). At $209 per corner they perform far better than others I've tried at 3x the price. So far I've put over 33000 kms on them & t...Read more
hey are roughly half worn, have worn very evenly, yet still feel pretty close to new. I would highly recommend these tyres to anybody, particularly with full sized, rear drive cars. I absolutely love 'em.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

really good grip but loses tracktion quickly
i have only had these tyres for about 2-3 months and had a service in between then and they said i might need to look at new tyres soon as the traction is getting low. the are nice tyres though and i did notice a difference in the car ride. it was more smooth and hugged the road better.

Good tyre but have understeer is an issue
Was using Bridgestone potenza re003 tyres before and never understeered but within 6000 km of having the Pirelli dragon sports have understeered twice. Good tyres at low speeds but above 60km/h will understeer. I was driving an all wheel drive Subaru with traction control and stability control. Overall good tyre but not the best

Wow Big Difference !
Size fitted 235/40/18
Cant believe the difference these tyres have made - no road noise, steering more direct & responsive, great cornering. Was undecided weather to change half worn Dunlop SP3000A but could no longer put up with the noise and feel of these tyres - should have done it ages ago, Its like driving a different car.

Grippy and quiet
These replaced my Bridgestone RE003 which were also very good tyres. The Pirelli are equally as good. Directional, very sure grip and quiet on the highway making me confident of their ability. My father was impressed and also bought the same for his Statesman, instantly noticing less lateral movement and he couldn't be any happier.

6 months, Still going well
I purchased 4x 235/45R17 97w XL DRGNSP
I have had these Tyres 6 Months now, and so far they have been very good, low Noise, Good handling, and seem to be wearing well.
They grip the road well as they are a "Sticky" road tyre, so in theory will not last as long as a normal compound tyre.
On breaking the Car seems to pull up well, " never had a problem with that though ".
I would recommend these, as so far they have performed well.

Very impressed
I have purchased these to replace my perelli p1's and they are much better and have 275/30/20 on the back and245/35/20's on the front. So fare they are very quit and brake a lot better then the p1's, and I drive my fgx xr8 like a real driver should ( not like a grandfather) they are a lot better then the factory dunlops

So far so good!
Have only done 1500kms so far, will aim to update on wear etc as they get older, but so far so good. Got a set of 17" from Kmart for $148 each for a 2011 VW Passat. I haven't had a chance to really test them out yet, but they're decently quiet (similar to the cheap Fullway tyres that they replaced which were dangerously bad in the wet after 6000km), decent dry grip. Have had 1 ABS stop in the wet where they didn't pull up quite as hard as I expected, but that may have been a particularly slippery road, once I explore them in more detail I'll update. No noticeable difference to ride or fuel economy. Farily limited review, but would be happy to recommend at this early stage.

What is the best price for dragon sport peralli 235 /40 r18? Cheers
1 answer
About 10 months ago, I searched for the best price and ended up buying mine online at tyroola.com.au. Unfortunately, at present they're sold out on that site; obviously popular tyres. To give you something to go by regarding a good price, the most recent price they were being sold on Tyroola was $115 / tyre (even lower price than what I paid) and the fitting would've cost about $90 to $116, depending on where you would've chosen to have them fitted. I hope this 'benchmark' price helps you find a good deal; if you're in Sydney then someone else recommended getting them from Tempe Tyres. For the record, here's the link to the page on tyroola.com.au -

Trying to decide between the Pirelli Dragon sport and the Michelin Pilot Sport 4. 235/40/R18. Driving a 2017 A250 4matic. Any recommendations? I was leaning towards the Michelin only because I'm running the Michelin Pilot sport 3's on all 4 right now (got the car with them). The Michelin are definitely more expensive though :S
Suggestions?

Hi David, Well, I can only share my knowledge gained from my experience with Pirelli Dragon Sport; they're great tyres and considering the price, excellent value. No doubt the Michelin's are pretty good based on my knowledge of Michelin's great reputation, but Pirelli has an equally great reputation. I'm a big Formula 1 Grand Prix racing fan and Pirelli supply the tyres for F1 GP so that was my primary reason for taking an interest in what tyres were available to me for my car. I did quite a lot of research reading both professional motor vehicle industry reviews as well as 'member of the public' reviews; in the end, I felt confident with buying Pirelli Dragon Sport and about 9 months later I can't be happier.
Thanks Craig, that's just the response I needed!
