Filter Change - Marginal value unless your tap water quality isn't good.
Moved into a new house with a puratap. Had filters changed for circa $ seventy something. This price is good when compared to alternative systems, would prefer a DIY option and the ability to customise filters to my situation. Having measured the basic water quality before and after the change, the performance of the filters is a reduction in TOC of 0.25 (13% compared to tap water), reduction in COD of 0.2 (18% compared to tap water), no change in TDS. Our tap water has an EPA rating of "Good" and the puratap was insufficient to improve th...e rating to "Great". So in my circumstance the puratap is of little practical value as the tap water is "Good" already, I expect from this result that if you have "Normal" or "Poor" water quality then the puratap would be of much more benefit.
Purchased in January 2020 at Puratap for $79.00.
After being constantly harassed by Puratap, by phone to change our filters we gave in a booked it and was quoted $76.00. However, my wife was told the plumber would replace a plastic fitting with a metal one at a cost of five dollars. She did not realize or was it explained to her, that he was doing a "Unit Upgrade". Our filter change went from $76.00 to $138.50. After calling Puratap, I was told " well what do you want me to do about it". I would not recommend Puratap to anyone! Particularly their after sales tactics

Consistently Efficient Service
Had Puratap for many years. Company has always kept us informed about filter, and updates to product. I don't get some of the negative reviews, if you have an important asset like a water filter don't you want to keep it working? The app is simple and added a booking to calendar with no fuss.

Poor information provided by 3 different staff,will not be using puratap again after this service.It's pretty poor when 3 different staff quote you 3 different price's.Even when you are offered a discount in writing they dont honor it..

Can't live without it
Just put in a 3 in one tap and love it ... on tap filtered water what could beat that? Ive had one in every home ive lived in would not have anything else. On tap filtered water never runs out. They have kept up with the times 3 different taps to choose from. Great company to deal with from Customer Service to Technician.
Constant pestering from Puratap
The product is ok however they constantly ring, text when its time to change the filters. I got calls daily, then texts & phone calls on the same day. Talk about constant harassment. I blocked their number & now they have resorted to sending texts from a different number. I'm now deliberately delaying replacing my filter as I am sick of their harassment. I've been constantly harassed for 11 months. I will contact them when I want a filter change.

The advice given when we were deciding which tap to go with was very good. The plumber wasn't at our place for long at all & he knew all about the product & what'd look best. We're happy with how it's all gone. The kids are loving the water, as are the adults!
Call centre staff are unreasonably pushy. Our filter is not due for replacement until December(that is when we moved into our new house) and tonight were told our filter must be replaced by the end of October. This is wrong on so many levels. The staff member refused to book a later appointment which fitted in with work schedules. Technicians have always been great, some even commenting on the poor behaviour of call centre staff, if only we could bypass them and deal with the technicians. Time to look for a new system.
Can not recommend Puratap
I paid over $600 for a tap with a knob for puratap water. I was unable to afford filters so bought them separately. After 4 years one of the pipes broke and cannot be replaced unless by puratap as they hold the copyright. Puratap want to rebuild the tap I have as I haven't used their filters. I am appalled at this blatant not caring attitude for people who can't afford their prices. I'll have to go without a puratap now and will not recommend them to anyone. Why wasn't this made clear to me when I purchased the tap? The tube must have been faulty to last for such a short period.
After being a Puratap customer for around 10 years due to financial hardship after my husband died I couldn't afford to have this puratap service anymore yet they continue to harass me constantly nearly 3 years later. I now will not answer their calls, have had to block numerous numbers they continue to call me from. Shame on you Puratap, scammers!! Leave me alone!!
Good looking Tap but its bad luck if your not satisfied
We bought a mixer tap with the Pura tap for our brand new kitchen great looking tap. I was a bit worried by the height and splash from the tap. I was correct it bounced off the bottom sink and sprayed quite substantially. I rang puratap the following day and told them I was not happy with the tap. Was told now it was used as water had run through and they wouldn't do anything suggested we just run the tap slower. In actual fact the technician ran the water through it not me and im sure the technician could see how much spray there was coming from the tap as he ran it for five minutes but didn't say a word. I guess I just need to keep a towel near my sink to mop up all the spray whenever I use my tap.
NO Customer Service
Upon being pestered to replace filter before due date, booked appt for 3 weeks in advance. Day before they ring to change appt. NOT willing to help since I have arranged to leave work early. No person in the area to do the job. Funny they always have someone in the area the next day when they harass you before the year is up. They have LOST my business. PURATAP has left a bad taste in my mouth!!!!

Absolute joke of a company. Constant harassing calls. Dodgey nonsense claims that are flat out lies.
The product is ok but in this saturated market of water filters you can get a better service with a better company that didn't take marketing lessons from a 1990's how to business video.
Now looking for a replacement
It is a good product, but the hard sell culture of the company was too much for me. They kept phoning me to have it serviced before the twelve months was up. I kept telling them I wasn't prepared to be ripped off in this way. The last time this happened I agreed to a date after the twelve months but, after thinking it over, I decided that I would always have to put up with their harassment if I stayed with them, so I phoned and cancelled the appointment and told them not to bother me again. A technician turned up on the day of the appointm...ent which had been cancelled, so I had to send him away. It is good to be free of Puratap, but now I have to find a suitable replacement. Puratap's attitude is clearly motivated by greed. How can a product need servicing in a one person household as soon as an identical product in a multiple person household?
Good product, sick Of the replacement filter calls at 11 months or less
We’ve had a Puratap for more than fifteen years and has been great. However, the last few years purataps marketing team have realised that selling replacement filters @ 11 months to all their customers means over an 11 year cycle they sell you 12 filters. Doesn’t sound like much, but when you have let’s say 1million filters to change (conservative guess) @ $89 each, doesn’t take a genius to work out its all about REVENUE. I simply cannot accept that a filter is fine at 10 months but not at 11, let alone 12. A low use filter will happily go for ...longer. And this crap about the glue?? Really?? If your glue is that susceptible to a used by date, you’re using the wrong glue. STOP THE MARKETING SPIN. I will be purchasing a Bunnings filter from now on. You can collect your old puratap filter housing from the nature strip.
Take your money and won't send out the product!
Absolute crap. Purchased a mixer tap from the online shop because anyone can, they took full payment and held it hostage for 2 weeks before someone bothered to call and say they won't send it out until I buy new filters to replace the ones in the existing puratap system. Absolute crap, a purchase can't be made contingent on buying another product, and they bury a clause in the T&C's and say it's all legal. I agreed to buy the new filters and they still didn't bother to send out the order, so much for the great customer service they pride thems...elves on. There is plenty of competition in the market now for filter tap products, I continue to buy Pratap to support local, but they clearly aren't supporting their customers. Now 4 weeks later (a kitchen sink that can't be finished) and I have had to demand a refund, only to be told that the accounts department aren't in yet, well it's 10am so where are they!

Hi Steve, normally Puratap contact me each year to arrange a filter change and let me know when they are in my area. If you have not heard from them, then I would give them a call. They will be able to arrange it for you
Thanks for the question. As Mum knows best has mentioned, we do normally call you to organise your filter change. Sometimes we have trouble getting in touch though (people move house, or change their phone numbers etc).
