Now looking for a replacement
It is a good product, but the hard sell culture of the company was too much for me. They kept phoning me to have it serviced before the twelve months was up. Good product, sick Of the replacement filter calls at 11 months or less
We’ve had a Puratap for more than fifteen years and has been great. However, the last few years purataps marketing team have realised that selling replacement filters @ 11 months to all their customers means over an 11 year cycle they sell you 12 filters. Doesn’t sound like much, but when you have let’s say 1million filters to change (conservative guess) @ $89 each, doesn’t take a genius to work out its all about REVENUE. Take your money and won't send out the product!
Absolute crap. Purchased a mixer tap from the online shop because anyone can, they took full payment and held it hostage for 2 weeks before someone bothered to call and say they won't send it out until I buy new filters to replace the ones in the existing puratap system. Absolute crap, a purchase can't be made contingent on buying another product, and they bury a clause in the T&C's and say it's all legal. I agreed to buy the new filters and they still didn't bother to send out the order, so much for the great customer service they pride thems...Read more
elves on. There is plenty of competition in the market now for filter tap products, I continue to buy Pratap to support local, but they clearly aren't supporting their customers. Now 4 weeks later (a kitchen sink that can't be finished) and I have had to demand a refund, only to be told that the accounts department aren't in yet, well it's 10am so where are they!

Tried to simply buy a mixer tap from their website and paid for it only for them to refuse to deliver it unless I installed their entire system. Don't be scammed by their upsell marketing trick! Apparently it's buried in their T & C's but now I need to wait for my refund. Annoying!

Ok, so to be fair the product is OK, does what it is supposed to do. Problem is the service. You are locked into using their replacement filters so they ring you once a year to get it done. Trouble is, they won't work in with your schedule. I had a day off booked three weeks after the day they rang me, said that would work best for me. With a little bit of research on the internet I found a supplier to buy an EQUIVALENT item with generic cartridges for less than the price of two year's filter replacements from Pura Tap. Bad plumber
Very happy with Puratap overall. However, needed their plumber to come out to fix a fault. Oh boy, are Puratap even aware this man did nothing but criticize their company!! He used the F word constantly, I'm no prude but found this to be very unprofessional!! Not a great representation if this is who you're sending out :(

I came to the website today because I was considering installing a Puratap. We have had one in the past but had our kitchen remodeled and at the time didn't like the look of the dual taps on offer so changed to a different system. The reason I'm mystified is "if something ain't broke why fix it". Why are you persisting in harassing people earlier than required for filter changes when clearly by the many reviews on this website people are not impressed? by waiting for the 11-12 month period to lapse that you advertise. I realise that if you can get people to change their filters earlier it will increase your profit margin but it is clearly detrimental to your business in the long run. Word of mouth is the best recommendation and if people take the time to write a poor review you can bet your bottom dollar they are also talking to a lot of people. When people say that their not ready to change their filter yet you should accept that. I'm sure the reality is you have installers for most areas readily available anyway.As for whether I'll come back - I can honestly say I'm not sure.1 comment

Fantastic
I live in Adelaide where the water quality is not of a great standard. Thus I use Puratap. The filter lasts 12 months which means I am getting filtered water for the entire year at less than $80.
Great Service - they phone me every 12 months when my home filter requires changing.
The guy who came to change my filter was quick, efficient and very knowledgeable.
Excellent Product - the water is brilliant
So Cheap!!!

Overcharged
Got a call saying my filters were due to be changed. At the time we were away so couldn't do it when they wanted but made a different time
For when we got back and thought this was ok then I was told the price and thought it was quite expensive but didn't much more about as we were away. We came hope and pura tap notified us of the date they were coming and time I told my husband when they were coming.

Puratap - Pure Excellence
We have been a happy Puratap customer for more than 15 years.
Having recently purchased a new home we found the telephone customer service extremely courteous, efficient and accommodating (as usual).
The service technician who came to install the new unit was similarly courteous and efficient and went out of his way to place the new unit where we wanted it in spite of it being a bit tricky and not the easiest option. All done with no fuss and no mess.
We will continue to be loyal Puratap customers - good value and a quality product backed by quality service..

Good Customer Service restores my faith
We recently woke to a flooded kitchen as our Puratap casing had cracked, we have been loyal puratap customers for approx 15 years. After a bumpy start, the Puratap company is working with us to resolve the problem. The product is great but be sure to be on top of and aware of service needs and the desired time to get a new system. If there is an unusual issue be sure to speak with the customer service manager.

I finally forked out for a Dual Mixer Puratap.
Is Probably one of the best Price Range water Filters Systems on the Market.
Works great when it doesn't leak water from the bottom of the spout.
Also had problems with water coming out of both spouts when mixer was being used.
It just got its 3rd Service.
We requested a DIFFERENT TECHNICIAN/PLUMBER!
Finally the water from both spouts is fixed.
And he Fixed the Water Leak also, by tightening the fitting.

Terrible sales
We have had a Puratap, for many years and have maintained it regularly, through Puratap. However, about five years ago we noticed that their Sales staff were attempting to get us to shorten the maintenance period, quite significantly. This is always the opening line, "... we have a technician in your area and can book a service call later in the week." On that time five years ago, we fell for it and then a month later when studying our bank accounts found that the service was paid for six weeks before it was due.

dual under-sink filter with mixer tap
No issues to report on the system 3 years in. Filters changed by technician no issues - don't really understand the drama for so many people commenting but would ask Puratap if the loyalty extends to continued use of their products or ONLY when one of their technicians services the units? Perhaps you should look at RETAINING as many customers as possible by having repeat business rather than receiving all the negative comments and creating an easy-out for so many.? Surely your mark-up on only the filters is greater than the filter/technician combo.? Anyways, no issues here, no complaints happy to send out 5 stars for this one.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS !!
After getting my puretap installed a couple years ago, I have been constantly harassed and bullied into getting my filter changed, I find it extremely traumatic when they keep calling me with aggressive marketing and I had to tell them to stop or I was going to get legal advice, I would like this company to be exposed for being so aggressive it's very disappointing, I also realise that all these 5 star reviews are false which makes me even more outraged with how immature and arrogant this company is, I want puretap to realise people aren't stupid and eventually word of mouth will conquer..please puretap do not contact me or reply

OK with some things to note
We've used Puratap, Waterways, and a generic one from a hardware store in different houses over about 20 years. We have also used Brita filters and their filter bottles (great for travelling). The TASTE is pretty much the same for all of them - great! Even our dogs (now long gone) could tell the difference and refused to drink tap water unfiltered.
Safety / chemical impurities?

The sales line both through personal dealing and on this site specifies a need to change the filter at 11-12 months as "This is the maximum time that the filters can work effectively". Logically, the need for a replacement filter should correlate to a set amount of water that passes through the filter, not time. And usage would depend on the size of the household, the period of days the are at home and the quality of the water supply. From my reading of the Choice article on the subject, assuming your water is certified safe for drinking from the outset, even if the filter was never renewed the water should remain safe for drinking unless the filter deteriorates and consequently contaminates the water. Puratap could probably legally protected themselves by only guaranteeing the filter for 12 months or 2,000 litres. But I can see no reason why I need to blindly accept this sales logic with the scant assertion currently provided: and Choice seems to support this. Great purchase
Great product and service thanks to all at puratap! The difference in water quality is amazing and we can be comfortable knowing that all those bad impurities and metals and chemicals are filtered out. We had the 3 way mixer installed and its made a difference to the flow also helping with controlling the splashing around the sink. The installer knew what he was doing.

New purchase of puratap...love it...better than tap water...better for me ....Had one at my previous workplace...used it always...only do bottled water when I forget to take mine from home....Better than tank water. ..So happy I have finally been able to purchase my puratap....thank you so much....

Hi Steve, normally Puratap contact me each year to arrange a filter change and let me know when they are in my area. If you have not heard from them, then I would give them a call. They will be able to arrange it for you
